I need advice and direction. I am curious if any of you use the wireless PC cards for remote internet access and how well do they work for you? Worth the purchase? I realize ATT and Verizon both offer these cards with a continuing subscription rate but do any of you know of a type where you buy minutes as you go for them, like the tracfon cell phones? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

HI Scrappy :) I have had a Sprint satellite card for almost 2 years and have really appreciated it. :) It does run about $60 a month, but I am no longer searching for the net where ever I go. There have been a few spots I couldn't get service on the road, but it has served me well for when I have had to use it. :) Hope that helps. :)

I haven't used one, but did see a news article just the other day. Make sure you know where your plan does and does not cover you. A family here was charged $20,000.00 (no this is not a typo) for one month when their son took it to Canada. After the media got involved ATT did reverse all charges saying it was in error, but until then insisted that it was because of Roaming charges.

Know your plan inside and out!!!!!
