I am loving Acdsee for organizing kits. Wow! I'm having too much fun just organizing everything! :-) I figured out how to download a font and put it into my c:. But, I can't figure out how to link the tou or any designer information to the font so I will know who to give credit to when I use it. I also don't understand how to not install a font or why I would want to have it uninstalled.
Thank you!

I keep a sub folder in acdsee called alphas and fonts with either the picture from the store for the font/alpha, or a screen capture jpeg for a font I have downloaded from the internet. Then I just tag the photo of the font or alpha with the info in acdsee for crediting when I post a layout.

I'm not sure there is a way to link designer or TOU information about a font - do you mean like seeing the font in your program (Photoshop, or even Word, etc.) and being able to identify who made it? If you use a font, you would have to go back to some information about it that you have kept (like if you downloaded it to a folder, unzipped it and read the TOU) in order to give credit. Or as sherryva said, you use ACDSee (or something similar) to tag previews.
As for why you would want to have fonts, but not have them all installed at the same time ... as you move along in the scrapping world, I guarantee the number of fonts you have will grow exponentially. If they are all installed, it can degrade the performance of your system, and quite simple a thousand fonts (um, been there, done that) are just too many! There are programs out there that can help manage fonts (Like LinoType Font Explorer, The Font Thing) ... they for the most part take control of all the fonts you have, and with a simple click you can install/uninstall them.

Here is some information from digiscrapinfo.com about fonts and ACDSee. http://digiscrapinfo.com/wordpress/2007/04/30/using-uninstalled-fonts-using-photo-manager-and-your-editor/
If you tag all your fonts from your font folder, you can view them in ACDSee without having them all installed on your computer. I don't have so many that they slow down my computer yet, so I still have all of mine installed.
