I'm so sorry to ask this again, but can someone give me step by step instructions on how to create a good, clear, large screen shot from PSCS that I can attach to one of my posts in these forums?

Here's what I do currently:

1) Hit CTRL+PRINT SCR
2) I need to create a new project in which to paste my screen shot, right? Do I close out my current project before doing so?
3) File>New but what size do I make this new canvas?
4) Edit>Paste
5) Click my Move tool and, holding down Shift, resize my pasted screen shot to cover the new canvas as much as possible.

Is this right so far? Now what?

Sorta...

1. Print Screen button
2. File>New
3. under Size choose Clipboard (should be in there automatically, if it's not it means you need to wait a few more seconds for the image to write to the clipboard. Screen shots are big)
4. Edit>Paste
5. Crop to size to show only what you want
6. Save for Web
7. In forum reply, hit Manage Attachments below and browse to the file, upload

OK - thanks Emma - I'm going to try to attach an image in my thread on crop marks.

The only thing you did wrong was hitting the Ctrl key. Try hitting the Alt key instead. Using the Alt key will copy the active window where as hitting the PrtScrn key by itself will copy the whole monitor screen sometimes forcing you to do a little cropping.

Good tip, Matt, I didn't know that about the Alt key. I have Snagit because my husband needs it for work, and use that for my screen shots. Wisdom-soft Screen Hunter is also good, and free
