my work is gone!

Although I am a beginner with digi scrapbooking, I'm not a beginner with PSE, however I did the ultimate boo-boo, I think. After diligently working for days and hours on my pages, they didn't save. I work on a Mac. Any ideas how to get my work back?

Im thinking taht if you were working on a page for days you must have saved it at some point.- do a search for *.psd on your computer and you might find them
