Thanks for everyones help. All my organizing is done in ACDSee. Now my next question - I have been downloading free items and have kept them in an "Unzipped" file. Normally I would unzip them and file them in my Scrapbooking Supplies folder, outside ACDSee, but I read somewhere that you must do everything in ACDSee now or it will mess things up. Can anyone tell me what I should do? Thanks, Laura

P.S. I bought ACDSee 2009 and LOVE it. Probably don't know most of the features, but I will learn.

When I had my big organization push, this is the system I came up with ...

I have my main file structure which I ultimately want everything to end up in. To keep track of what I have tagged already, I have a temporary holding place for things I an dowloading (it is a folder names Downloads). I create folders, and unzip everything here (in Windows Explorer). About once a month, I go to this folder in ACDSee and tag everything. And then again, withing ACDSee move the folders to their correct and final home.

Does that make sense?

using ACDSee for moving things around is to keep the tagging info with the file so if you haven't tagged it yet there's no real problem. But I find ACDSee is a great program to use anyway...you can batch unzip into a set folder...mine is called 'new kits' then after they're tagged I file them with the rest of my goodies (I file by designer name.) I really don't find many things I use Windows Explorer for anymore. At least, not for anything related to my scrapbooking workflow. HTH!

You have had good replies on tagging and moving Newscrapper64, one of the new features of ACDSee 2009 is that that your organizing is embedded with the file, so you should be able to move files outside of ACDSee and retain your tagging. I have yet to try it out but sounds fabulous!

So glad you are loving ACDSee - I could not work without it!

Thank you so much for all your help. I will try to unzip my files today and see how I make out. Thanks so much again. Laura
