Lauren, I am so glad you have started this up again - I love to see how the kits change from color scheme, to papers, to elements. I'll post another colors cheme later on today, that is, if we haven't gotten past this stage yet - besides, I'd like to see what others come up with :)

To start off, how about one of those Italian marbled papers in blue and green?
HeatherL
10-23-2008, 01:54 PM
What about a stripe paper. I would like the stripes to be different sizes with maybe some dots or circles like the necklaces on the birds. Maybe the circles could overlap the stripe lines or follow the stripes in straight rows. Hmmm wonder if a plaid would be better. What do you think Lauren.
HeatherL
10-23-2008, 01:57 PM
I would like a solid paper too, maybe the teal, full of creases and textures and dark and light tones of the same color. Any of the colors in a solid would be fine with me.
carolat
10-23-2008, 03:32 PM
Heather - you got to the solid idea first, but I totally second your post - any of the colors in a solid would be great!
carolat

Maybe a tone on tone dot with the blue or red (kinda like the beads on their necklaces)

Wow Lauren I just love that paper, so unique. What about a soft faded and grunged up grid or textured paper in the solid blue where you see the solid color fade in and out in different areas of the paper. I had thought of a satin type paper but not sure where this kit may be headed.
Love that paper and the birds! :)

I love the tone on tone look of the colors in the striped paper. How about a tone on tone checked paper in any of the colors.

A solid in any of the colors with a wood texture or a crackled paint finish
A tone on tone in any of the colors with big and little circles
How about a festive plaid?
mariafer
10-24-2008, 01:29 PM
I am agreeing with everyone on some solids but would also like to see a paisley paper. With large paisleys that have scalloped edges in either two colors or all colors with the tan/green as a backgrd.

Great papers so far
How about a paper with the blue, burgundy and the orange in funky harlequin diamonds (something in diamond shape)
carolat
10-24-2008, 04:57 PM
Another stripe, I know, but I would really like to see one with only two of the colors, and either faded, like a worn paper or scratched up so the paper ends up looking like one that once had bright colors on it, but it has been sitting around for so long that the inks have faded.

I would love to see another mostly solid paper in the dark teal with sanded grid lines in the pale peachy color like the circle dots in the striped paper.

A paper with explosions of circles/fireworks style
A bg with the bottom right corner ripped off it in the darker green.

How about another dot (without stripes):
Some ideas:
- A dotted in all different the different colors. About same size as above.
- A minidot paper. I think red on teal would be nice
- A tone on tone dot but with the brown outline. Either in the red or orange.

Bringing this forward.
I think we need a paper in the mustard (1st choice) or orange color.
...some subtle texture like the wood slats of the chair the bird is sitting on
...some swirly things with subtle dots monochrome colors
...some really good grunge

How about a few pieces of different color ric rac folded over with a staple attaching them together.
Some doodled shapes on crumpled paper bag type paper.

A border strip of torn spiral note or graph paper.
A round metal frame with circles in the frame.
A Frame made out of slats
HeatherL

I think we need to tie the light blue color back into this kit. What about a textured wooden frame in the light blue but maybe with shiny paint like the birds. Maybe a frame with room for 3 photos.

Like that idea!
How about a line of beads (like on the birds) with a nice gentle wave, maybe a horizontal and a vertical that cross and could be used to frame a page.
A string (or a group of two or three pieces of string) with eyelets on each end, maybe 4" or 5" apart, like it is threaded through a stack of papers, tied with a loose bow.
As a side note, Lauren I know you don't do a lot of backpacks, but I'd love to see a backpack collection of the "papers" that were used to make the striped paper. They look like really cool textures.

A old worn tab for adding pieces of info stuck down with some tape or stitching... or maybe just some old glue that can be seen at the curled edge.

I love everything so far, Lauren. One of my favorite Gimme A Clue's yet! I can't wait to scrap my birds and margarita recipe!!!
In our house, the birds (inspiration for the color scheme) are a sign that it is time for margaritas. We were just in Las Vegas and visited Margaritaville, which made think to go visit Margaritaville (http://www.margaritaville.com) on the web,.
How about:
(1) a few worn directional signs, with no words so they can be used for journaling
(2) A dried bamboo border
A few images for inspiration (both from Margaritaville web site):

I really like that brown journaling piece. It goes perfectly.
I would however like to see a bit more beads or ribbon. My ideas:
- How about an s chaped hanger full of beads with a small round metal edged tag for adding a date (I saw some recently with mini beads for wine glasses and another one for hanging ornaments and love them)
- How about a string of beads on a wire all curved for a page edger
- An orange and teal layered flower with a black metal rimmed tag in the center... for journaling.
- a group of brads. Maybe black. Or how about a couple of round flat brads and a flower brad.
- And only because I am in love with felt in the paper scraping world: a layered felt flower. With the blue on the bottom and the red on top and even a bit of a round black for the middle and... maybe a leaf or two also... and maybe a bead for added sparkle... anyway anything fun...

ooo - bands are great - loved the abacus idea - which made me think of those square coordination games that we played with as kids - before Nintendo? - lol! They were usually small, square, black plastic frame and usually had 8 little interlocking, sliding, ivory squares with numbers or a picture on it and one blank space. You had move around the squares to get the numbers or picture aligned. You could do one with all blank squares for journaling or photos.

A small oval tag that we could hang from the bands - any color metal would be great! (almost like a zipper pull w/o the zipper)

one more idea - a black overlay - geometric to go with the stripes & dots

I really like that brown journaling piece. It goes perfectly.
- An orange and teal layered flower with a black metal rimmed tag in the center... for journaling.

I think we need a brad in the reddish color shaped like a triangle or a diamond made out of the same material as the flower petals!

Well - It's sort of a funky kit and funky name. I think they go together perfectly. And the signigicance of the name can be an "insider" secret. This one is awesome!
