I prefer to save it. That way, you can unzip it when you need it and then delete the unzipped files when you're done. Keep the zipped file for next time. It saves space.
Not sure how others do it, but that's what I do!

There are a ton of approaches, and I always love to hear the variety of ways to do things. I swear you can take 50 different paths to get to the same goal when doing something on the computer! :D
Here's what I do: I download the zip file, unzip it and keep it in my "DSP Downloads" folder. Then I move the zipped file into a "zipped files" folder that's also in my DSP Downloads folder. I probably could delete the zipped files, but I have the space, and someday will deal with my computer clutter.
Ok, that's two options...must mean at least 48 other ways of doing it. LOL
Are you needing help with the technical part of unzipping? I'm so lame it took me forever to even learn to download something, and if it was zipped I just didn't bother, LOL! My husband very firmly pushed me out of my computer nest and refused to do it anymore about 3 years ago :D So I know all about not knowing how to download, unzip, install.
Or are you just looking for advice on where/how to save the actual files, or using them on a layout? Or all of the above?
Let us know and we'll step-by-step you throught it.
Also, Jan, if you delete the unzipped files, how do you preview what you have so you know what to unzip for next time? I've never heard of doing it that way, but it sure would save space! Just knowing what you have, is that a problem?

How do how separate the elements in a zipped kit that has been downloaded.?Do you select and copy in order to use the element?
Hope I'm making sense and that I am asking the question in the right thread.

Do you mean how to unzip a single file to access the individual files inside?
Or do you mean how to get an element off an image when included with multiple other elements on the same image?
For unzipping, you need to right click on the file and choose Extract Files, then browse to the location you want to unzip them to. You can also get a little file for handling them, like Winzip.
For getting one element off an image when grouped with others, use your Selection tool to select the object, then Copy and Paste as a new layer onto your layout
is this what you mean? Anyone have any other ways of doing it?

Thanks for our reply Emma.
What I am having difficulty with is isolating a element that comes in a kit. When you say copy and paste. i get confused because if an element is on top of another element both would be copied and lets' say I want the top element only. In PSCS each element is on a separate layer. Can I unzip a kit and have each element on its own layer and then copy and paste the element to my layout?
Thanks.
