Hello! I've been printing my scrapbook pages on 13 X 19 Staples brand double sided matte paper on my Canon i9900 with excellent results. Staples used to offer their photo paper buy one get one free every couple of weeks, but they've not done it in a long while. What is the best source for paper? Is there anyone that supplies it in bulk? I've got 6 children and print most of our albums x 7, so it will get pricey if I can't get the paper down reasonable. Just need a cost comparison to decide of outsourcing is a better option.

Thanks!

Paige

I print all of my pages at Scrapbooks to Share. www.sbtoshare.com. They are not expensive, 1.50 per page and then I print myself on the other side, it reall cuts down on the ocsts because my printer has really expensive ink...13.95 for each of the eight color cartridges...ouch! Paper around here is vey expensive.

I have the same printer as you, and use the staples paper also but I use the glossy- nowdays I mostly just print books at shutterfly- then I give everyone a link to it, and they can buy there own copies of pictures and/or books- the more serious I got about my layouts, the more worried I got about the longevity of staples paper- but that could just be me- but here are some alternatives I have used:

1.epson matte scrapbook paper, double sided 12x12 (I buy it at adorama.com- cheapest I have found)
http://www.adorama.com/IESSCR1003.html?searchinfo=epson%20scrapbook%20pap er&item_no=3

2. hawk mountain papers also carries alot of 12x12 papers for scrapbooking there site is here: www.digitalscrapbookpaper.com (http://www.digitalscrapbookpaper.com)

3. for quality paper- double sided luster- (I find it uses a little less ink than the matte paper on our printer) I buy Inkpress luster duo from b& h photo .com
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/561512-REG/Inkpress_IPS131950_Duo_Semi_Gloss_2_Sided_.html
this one is pricey- $85.00 for 50 sheets- but it is double sided so you get 100 prints at .87 cents each, and they come out great with our printer, and at that price it is economical. (tell santa...)

4. option 4 is to print a 12x12 and 2 6x6's on a single 13x19 sheet- this way you get 3 layouts from one sheet.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the leads. I will need to analyze more carefully to see what the best options are. I enjoy printing at home as I can have it RIGHT NOW :) but want the most economical option for our large family.

As for inks...I get mine through a supplier that gets the cartridges down to around $2.00/cart. I spoke with our Canon repair guy and he stated that using high quality, generic, non Canon inks will not lessen the life of my printer or printhead. I get them from http://private.abacus24-7.com and have had excellent results.
