Week 2 – November 10 to November 16 – Simon Says

This is a Bonus Challenge Week – in other words, I’m nominating a kit for you to use :D

The Bonus Challenge kit to use is Windermere (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=9036) if you don’t already have it you can purchase it by clicking the Windermere link. Remember you don’t have to use the nominated kit you can use any of our great DSP products. BUT if you want to get the free bonus you do have to use the nominated kit.

Note: I will accept a small amount of other DSP product with the nominated kit but the LO has to be predominantly the Windermere kit

Please vote on the theme you’d like to use, there are 3 choices and the one with the most votes by Midnight Sunday 9 November will be this week’s theme. If no theme is voted for I will be Simon this week and chose what we’ll do

What this means is that we will create a layout using one of the following based on your poll:

White Space (Where the LO design has a large amount of blank/clear area that doesn’t have any photo/element in it)

4 Circle shapes (NO angles ie no squares, rectangles etc – this includes photos and frames)

2 Photos (with NO humans in it)

Depending on the polled choice, please follow the required instructions as noted above.

You can cut, crop, blend and re-colour all/any of the items to make new shapes or elements. Example – you can make a mat from one of the papers and re-colour it.

You can use ANY DSP kit/elements, freebies or from your current stash (must only be DSP products)

ALL nominated kit (Windermere) LO’s HAVE to be placed inErica’s Lucky Dips Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=6498) or if you are not using this kit it can do extra duty somewhere else but I will need a link to your LO in this forum.

If anything is not clear please just ask any questions here

I'm looking forward to seeing your layouts for this weeks challenge and I hope you enjoy playing along.

I would love to hear of any theme/s you might like to try here, I'll place it in the Simon Says barrel and then have a poll and the most voted on will be the next months Simon Says weekly theme and you can also help run it or not, that's up to you.

Some really simple rules:

Please use only DSP products or only the Windermere Kit if you want to be eligible for this week’s free bonus
NO - Ploppers and QC’s for this weeks challenge
Journaling or themed title would be nice but you don’t have to
Your LO can do double/triple duty as long as you put a link in this forum, especially if you intend to do all four challenges. (How will I know to include you in the draw otherwise)
Exception to the above, if you do the Bonus Challenge by using the Windermere kit the LO HAS to go into Erica’s Lucky Dips Gallery
Please comment generously on other member’s layouts in this challenge. I know I don’t really need to ask you that because you’re all so good at it anyway.

Have fun with this challenge...:yahoo::yahoo:

Well how convenient that I already own Windermere!! :)
Such a pity I've not completed week one yet! - note to self - get act together!

So I'm sitting there actually working on a white space LO, and it gets up and runs away from me and ends up turning into an exercise in blending instead. Honestly, wouldn't you think it would do as it was told?
These LOs with a mind of their own - they should know their place!

I have disobedient layouts too Leslie - I have no idea how you discipline them. :)

I too have problem with "displining" my white space LO's! Those darn things...

That's why I voted for something else, but it looks like I'll have to work on my white space issues....

Maybe one of those sessions... where I lay down on the couch, and tell the nice man, all about it... for only I don't know the price, but $100's an hour...

He could probably figure out my deep routed problem with white space.... maybe my childhood, maybe Barbie didn't use white enough... hmm...

Okay, just to clarify, whatever wins (white space as of this writing) is the "theme" we do for the week ending the 16th and the kit we use is Windermere if we want bonus; or any DSP products, if we just wish to "challenge" ourselves. Right?

That means we can use a current challenge (like your Badge of Honor kit) and do the white space thing too! Actually I think it would be a good thing to do all of my challenges for the week with just the one theme - lol - one way to really learn a technique is to do it repeatedly!

Yes - you got it Paula, the exclusive bonus is for using the Windermere kit but if you want to use the EEE challenge kit - Badge Of Honor (DSP product) that's OK too and of course you get the posting bonus with that challenge. So you can't loose really. :D

I don't do enough 'white space' LO's myself but I love how they look, OK that's my next LO too.

You don't think it's a close run thing then  Yes White Space has it by the looks of it. Poor 4 Circles shouldn't have come out of the starting blocks but No Humans isn't too far behind and he may catch up. ;)

OK. White space won....I've been super busy the past few days that I totally spaced on this challenge... My firstborn broke her bone just below the wrist on her left arm the night before my birthday (but I didn't realize it until the next morning- which happened to be my birthday) and we spent the better part of all afternoon yesterday (my birthday) at the doctors office getting xrays and what not. She has to get a cast tomorrow. They put a splint on her first to allow the swelling to go down a bit before they cast her arm. My poor baby! She's only 2! I'll be scrapping this, of course!!!!

Oh thanks Erica! She's doing good now. She is constantly taking off her splint because it's too big for her...and it's the smallest one they had! But the doctor said she should heal very quickly- 3 weeks. She's using her left arm a lot more, though.

OK - revised cut off - Midnight 16 November, sorry it's 17th for me and I didn't put enough emphasis about the start and end time here as I intended in the original information. Go for it Carla :D

There has been some confusion with the first month of Erica's Lucky Dips and I intend to do a bit of tweaking for Decembers challenges. So hopefully these will happen without a hitch  :D

I'm still open to suggestions on themes and will attach an exclusive bonus to them if they are chosen. I'm also thinking that perhaps two weeks of journaling theme may be too much, what do you think. week 3 and 4 are really journaling based. And I really like the idea about doing more layout style challenges, this one was fun. :applause::applause:
