Hi, I got my update for Lightroom 2 yesterday, just in case anyone hasn't heard about it yet :)
My question is ... When I open a photo in my folder and right click, I have 'open with ...' and a variety of programs show up - PSCS3, ACDSee, PSP, etc. but I cannot get Lightroom to be there. I did the 'browse' thing and clicked on the icon for LR, but it didn't stay there and certainly doesn't open it. I'm sure that I had it in there when I was using the trial, so don't understand what I'm doing wrong now.
Can anyone offer help, suggestions, or hair-regrowth products?!

Hi Abby - you need to associate the file type with the program. To do this you can right click on a photo - then click open with - then click choose program - scroll until you find LR - at the bottom of the pop up there is a box you can check to always use the selected program to open this kind of file. Of course in thinking about these directions, I think you have Vista and this is how to do it for XP. If someone else doesn't pop in to answer you, I'm sure you can google it. HTH -c-

Hi Carla - thanks, that's what I did do, but it doesn't work for me!! I even tried it without checking the 'always open with this' box, thinking maybe it didn't want me to commit myself so soon :)! Just isn't working.

Hmmmm - when you try to just click on the photo and it opens, which program is it opening in? Perhaps you can go into that program and "unassociate" it in that program. That is odd how LR is behaving. Maybe you could PM Kim if she doesn't see this post. She may have a trick up her sleeve. -c-

When I just click on a photo, it either opens in ACDSee or Vista Photo Viewer, whichever grabs it at the moment, it just refuses to acknowledge that I even have LR, tho LR works like a charm when I open stuff in there. Very odd!
