Hi.. I just wanted to ask if anybody knows the limit of fonts installed in WIndows XP system...?
Because so far i have 3114 ( ) fonts installed. I never had any problem loading it or anything, but i'm afraid someday it'll crash. Anyway, i'm a font freak, so the amount wont decrease i guess... I just love fonts too much!! lol.

Wow! I'm not sure how many we can have without causing problems. I'm in the 700's though. I'll be keeing an eye on this thread to find out more.

they've always said less than 300, but then xp came along. it's supposed to be able to handle more fonts and so not an issue. of course your programs will take a little longer to load, and searching for the right font will take a little longer as well. i prefer to have around 200, i took an honest look at the ones i LIKED vs the ones i USED. of course i keep them all (yeah, thousands) close by and when i want something special, i use the font thing to find it. :)
Margie, I think it was 3000, but Windows XP doesn't care.
Have you thought about getting a font organizer? There's not much need to have that many actually installed at any given time. Opening software takes forever with that many, and I like to be able to view them with samples to make choosing easier. Then I just install it, use it, then uninstall. Occasionally I'll leave it if it looks like something I'll use a lot, and will also occasionally uninstall a lot if it's getting "crowded". I can just have the organizer open at the same time I'm scrapping, making font choice much faster than scrolling through in PS, or trying to see those tiny ABC abc samples in PSP
Any other thoughts on making the best and efficinet use of our font addiction? LOL!

Thanks for the answer, i do use a font organizer (Font Xplorer), i probably should clean up my fonts like you told me. But i'm glad to know there aren't any font limits in XP.
