Should I get the backup CD or the extended service???? I'm a newbie!

It all depends on how you store your digital stuff! When I downloaded the program files, I put them in a folder with all my other program downloads, and then I back it up to an external hard drive. So I don't need the back up CD. If you can' have a way to keep a copy of the program files (burn your own CD, back up to an external drive, etc.) then it is a good idea to have the copy and a record of your license number some where safe.

The extended service is the same type of deal. ACDSee will make the download available to you for two years. Again, if you have a way to keep it safe yourself you are fine, if not, pick one of the options.
