I've finally gotten to the place where I'm really ready to share everything with you... I'm sorry that it's been so long coming... I've blogged (http://suzannecwalker.blogspot.com/) my whole little story, so if you're interested, please feel free to take a peek (http://suzannecwalker.blogspot.com/). The short story is that I'm in treatment and recovery from alcohol addiction. It's been a very difficult few months, and I'm getting to a MUCH better spot, but I'm still in very early recovery, and still needing to spend lots of time going to therapy, AA meetings, meeting with my Sponsor, and doing processing...

My therapy group will come to a close in the first week of December, and I am really planning on having tons more designing time. :) I've gotten a bit of my creative juice going, and have a brand new kit in the store! :) If you join the BCA Chat on Saturday (http://digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=689) (I've heard that there are already TONS registered - YEAY!), I'll have a coordinating goodie for you at the 10am chat!

Here's my new kit, called "Somethin-Somethin". And I used it to create the layout about my journey so far that I've shared on my blog. :)

I hope to see you Saturday morning! And I am working on our monthly 2-page quick clicks to have for you VERY soon!!! Hugs to you - thank you for being with me on this journey!

Yes, we are with you, Suzanne! I am glad you are seeking treatment! My dad is an alcoholic and he has been sober since the 1980's. It was hard, but he is in a much better place! We always laugh that has taken up another addiction----gardening!

I know it took a lot of guts to come and share this with the world. kudos!!! <3

I hope it goes only upward for you now, and remember that the people that judge your for your "weakness" are more than likely just doing it to distract themselves from their own!!!!

My GOSH! Thank you more than you can know! I can't BELIEVE the stories and all the people alcoholism has touched. Even though I've heard the statistics, it still blows my mind how widespread this disease really is. SO MANY LIVES ARE IMPACTED. I tell you - I learn something every single day. Something HUGE like this. I wish I could tell you how much your words - here and by email and pm - mean to me. I have saved every single message. Seriously. Thank you so much!

Suzanne, but BIL has traveled your path and came to live with us during his rehab. He practices the 12 steps everyday and has a brand new life...well not so new anymore. That was over 20 years ago. He could tell you days, hours and minutes. He takes it 1 day at a time, and I am so proud of him. I am proud of your courage for sharing this. I know what a difficult journey it is, but you have chosen to do it the right way. BIL says one of the keys is to pass it on. Help others in your shoes. That and your higher power make you strong. You are in my prayers.

Big Congrats and hugs to you Suz!!!! I'm so proud of you for speaking up and for taking the steps necessary to get your life back!!!!!

It's not an easy road, but it sounds like you have lots of support locally, and you know you have all of us here too.

I have had several alcoholics in my family (father, sister, step-daughter, step-nephew - some recovered and some not) so I'm glad to see these illnesses come out of the closet!
