Well after some time of no activity from me I decided to come back with a game I think most here will enjoy. Have fun with this one!!!
Lets play Digitalscrapbookplace PHOTOSHOP TENNIS! The premise is simple, a group of photoshoppers (or any other good photo editing software) take turns in altering an image. Get it? if not see example below.
Rules--
1) ALL content made must be appropriate and follows Digitalscrapbookplace forum rules.
2) Must stay in the original file size dimensions. (DO NOT RESIZE) Generally, this will be a large high quality image like 1024 x 768. Uploaded to 4shared.com for you to download the high quality image. (do not use the preview in comments on forum)
3) Each round lasts two weeks.
4) Each turn must change the image from the last turn, but still retain elements from the previous image.
6) After you do your turn you must wait for a minimum of 2 alters to be made, or wait 3 hours.( and post a preview of the outcome in the comments for others to view in the thread)
7) After you make an alter, post it as a jpeg.
8 ) Once you decide to make a edit post a comment with the next corresponding number from the previous post. (e.g. the post before was edit #3, you would post a comment in the thread for others to know you will be edit #4)
9) Reserves generally last 3 hours max. Extra time can be allowed if you are almost done, just make sure you make a post saying that.
So I will start with this Image
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g190/matt4chris/Deweydam.jpg
And after one edit
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g190/matt4chris/Deweydamedited.jpg
Feel free to alter it in anyway, no matter how small or large, just make sure there is some elements from the previous poster.
here is the link for the first person to download this above image.
(make sure to leave a comment so everyone knows you are working on this picture)
AND MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN WITH IT!!!

Well hello mars, long time no talk to, thanks for letting me know I will fix them now.
Hope you enjoy!!
Hum thats funny I tried to fix it but it still ended up shortened, but the link works for me. try it again and let me know if it still is not working. thanks!

hi reba! lol I think he must have fixed it now. If you copy and paste from word or from a comment, sometimes the links get truncated so you have to actually paste the full url.

oh and I would like to do this but I think I will check back cuz I have a bunch of layouts I really need to do first before I can play.
bailey239
11-16-2008, 03:26 PM
no worries, I just hope the isea catches on.
I selected the picture because it is one of my newest and because it is fall, but to start the game any player can post their own picture they would like, as long as they post the original in the comments for others to view and than post the finished edit with a link for someone else to download and edit and so on...
Don't be shy to be the first to play, it's a learning game. :)

Your more than welcome to uploaded your edited photo to any filesharing site that is free to all users.
Even if you have a photobucket account it allows you to upload a 1MB file and keep its dimensions, as long as others can go there and view and download it and you can post a preview here in the comments it really don't matter what service you use.

this is all a learning experment for all of us, any suggestions would be welcome.
The only thing i can think of would be to post a comment in the thread to let others know you are working on the photo so others don't jump your post.
to caraffle---> you can add and delete what you want as long as you leave some elements from posters before your edit.

Tell me how you posted the large picture in the thread.
bailey239
11-16-2008, 07:52 PM
You need to post the picture to a imaging website like photobucket (requires sign up) or imageshack (no sign up) and after it's uploaded there you just copy the direct link and in the advance options when posting a reply there is a picture icon click that and paste the link in between the 2 sets of brackets.

Bailey, maybe we could number our photos and say "I will be #4" after # 3 has posted
You do understand that many of us are not tech savy
bailey239
11-16-2008, 08:18 PM
okay great idea caraffle, for example
#1 = Me
#2 = Ineke52
#3 = lets start here since it was rather un-organized
so someone post a comment letting others know that they would like to be #3
caraffle
11-16-2008, 09:23 PM
So, #3 was VolvoGuy http://www.4shared.com/file/71816292...wey_dam_3.html
I am working on #4 So (BTW, I am Chris aka Raffie)
as soon as I figure it out I will be back with my wine induced version of the Dewey Dam, blocking the vast deep blue sea.

Ok, I admit it, I went crazy. Mt intention was to find a lake photo from 5 years ago, it would have worked well but then I couldn't find it and went for a diving photo but there wasn't enough water so I still had to replace the water and well..........I decided the "moon" made a funny sun!!!!!

11-17-2008, 11:51 AM
hello everyone, I hope that everyone is enjoying this game, but I'm going to need some opinions from the people playing. In my original rules it says we will work with the same picture for 2 weeks, I'm now thinking that's a little to long for one picture? What if we changed it to a certain # of edits, like 10-15? Any suggestions would be great.

I love the placement of the Aborigine on the inland that is the home of Alcatraz. A person from Australia on an inland from San Francisco Bay in an ocean that was originally a reservoir in Florida(??). Who's next!?

well I was hoping that we could all agree on a certian numbers of edits, I was thinking somewhere between 10-15, but I think 10 would be a good number? let me know what everyone else thinks.

Okay I think after 10 edits it would be rather hard to try and keep aspects from all the other edits in tact, so I think 10 would be a good solid number, so we shall try that. On another note how about suggestions for the next "original" picture to start out with? If anyone has a picture they think would be fun for this game by all means post it and see what the others think about it.

That is super Cool, I second Debilou's pic for the next round,
and agree 10 turns would be a great place to play around with.
Also think maybe a Grand Canyon shot, I could look at getting one of Uluru (Ayers rock) here, and maybe we could also try a movie poster?

All great ideas, I would have to vote for the balloon Pic, I think we could go a long way with that one. love all the ideas though, and maybe next we will try the grand canyon idea? I think we should move on to the next picture now because the picture is getting rather crowed, does everyone agree?

You are just getting way too excited Debilou :)
I think we should stick to one game at a time, and maybe start storing up ideas for the next one if we know the pic before hand?
So Jaedee can you start a new thread with the Hot Air Balloon?
and then I would like to be number 1 in the next game for the Grand Canyon
and just for put (oops I mean pot) luck I would like Jaedee to add me as number 3 for the Hot Air Balloon Game
We should probably re-post Bailey's initial rules + 10 rounds in each new Game?

I would agree with quanita, I think we should stick to one game at a time, but that is up to who ever is playing I suppose. I am still waiting to hear back from someone about weather or not to start a new thread for each game or to just keep it all in one thread? if anyone running the site happens to read this just let us know how it would be better for the site. Also I revised the rules to what we have all agreed on so far and can make changes as we go.
RULES
1) ALL content made must be appropriate and follows Digitalscrapbookplace forum rules.
2) Must stay in the original file size dimensions. (DO NOT RESIZE) Generally, this will be a large high quality image like 1024 x 768.

8 ) Once you decide to make a edit post a comment with the next corresponding number from the previous post. (e.g. the post before was edit #3, you would post a comment in the thread for others to know you will be edit #4)
9) Have fun!!!

didn't mean to tell anyone how to do this! I just know how easy it is to get confused. lol. I have a couple more things to finish up and I will be following this until then. It's so creative to see each new edit!
It is totally up to you how you want to do it - - you can keep going in this thread or start a new one each time. It *might* be easier for people to follow along if you start a new thread for each game - - but you have to name them similarly so people don't miss them! This sounds like a really fun game...someday I may even come play! :)

Just one point of clarification. When I did this before, the object was to go for a final photo that 'almost' looks like it could be real. We need (my opinion) to concentrate on making the new creation 'almost' real and not just add something to add something. Just my opinion, I think it will be more of a challenge and stretch our photoshop abilities. When I did it before, we really tried to keep our object in perspective and DID delete items from the previous photo or add ones to hide old elements. Just my opinion, and I will do it whichever way everyone else wants to play it.
I am having fun! Thanks Bailey!
debilou
11-18-2008, 09:38 AM
I agree with you, when I played on a true photo site.. that was not so much a rule, but let's say a part of the "game"...
debilou
11-18-2008, 09:40 AM
Also, Bailey, do you want to set up a THREAD just for a poll for the next game...
Like out of your photos... your oh, lost the first name " ... Florida" photo would be perfect in my opinion...
bailey239
11-18-2008, 10:28 AM
I like the idea about the poll but I don't know how to set up a thread for that, and I have no objection to any ideas as far how the game is played. If everyone wants it to be more of a challenge and go for a picture in the end that is more "believable" that is fine with me. also I just had the thought to bring this game here for everyone to play, if someone else wants to make a new thread with the game and make it a little different I would have no problem with that. So anyone out there feel free to mold this game however they like if it's fun for everyone thats all that matter to me.
