Dawn you always come up with the greatest colour schemes - I really like the orange one too but lets go with this one -- very cool indeed
Id like to keep this to black and white and maybe one other colour and use the other 2 as accents I think

How about using the white as a backgound with flowers of the other colors in it but it should have an elegant look.
Black background with hearts of the hot pink in it but the hearts should be small.
A paper made up of black and hot pink diamonds. I love that color combination.
sandygb
11-17-2008, 11:39 PM
I vote for the gold as the primary color with black and white. There are quite a few black, white and red in the store and the gold looks a bit more versatile than pink as the main color.
I would like a black paper with gold flowers stamped into the lower right corner, and little red centers on the stamped flowers. I would like the flowers to be scuffed up a bit in places so that a bit of the black background shows through.

A gold paper that looks like an unfolded paper napkin, with the sort of corrugated edges around the outside.
The white with a pinstripe of the red going through it.
sandygb
11-18-2008, 05:05 AM
How about a gold silk, with a hint of texture in the red. Not sure if you know what I mean, but silk often has a texture to it that shows a bit of another color when you hold it at different angles. Like a thread that is woven through it.
sandygb
11-18-2008, 05:08 AM
also - since you went with that gorgeous black paper first, I'm going to reverse my first suggestion.....so how about a gold silk with some black stamped flowers in a style similar to the floral pattern on the first paper....just in the corner.

Other ideas...and these are just me brainstorming.
A pen and ink drawing of a women in a hat with a feather, and maybe a feather as one of the elements.
and old christmas tag or card...aged and a bit torn.
a hat pin. The long and victorian type
An old dance card or calling card
A metalic gold ribbon with black stripes to tie in with the music.
cord or ribbon in one of the other colors

I could go on and on, don't know if they go with this, but it is fun to brainstorm. Maybe it will lead someone to the right element.

I went away for a few hours and this looks lovely. Wonderful job. This is coming together nicely.
I like the ideas about the ribbons and especially moog's wrote iron frame.
I would also like to see some gold leaves... like those shiny ones you see at christmas. I have been seeing them around this year so would love to see some here also.
Also how about some red berries... Like plastic ones.
I think I would really like some black sheer ribbon not too thin not too thick... with a knot.
How about a stamped frame with elaborate sides.
I love torned edges and pieces of paper elements so I would also like to see a piece of that music paper to add as a layer to our layouts.

shawsi
11-19-2008, 05:09 PM
I would still like to see a straight or semi straight element, as a staff (5 lines), a ribbon, maybe black, a row of notes, that could repeated. It might need a romantic element, such as a victorian figure, as was on some of the covers of old sheet music, a flower, a heart, or even some word art, such as Player of my Heart Strings, or Love song etc. I am sure someone could come up with something better for the word art.

Also - A black ribbon and gold cord streamers that are softly twisted and held together with a gold blingy thingie. (A star, a music cleft, or something similar).

I know on my layouts that I buy, I always look for something to journal on, or something to divide my area. So ribbon to something like that would work for that. Maybe a scrap of something with both maroon and pink on it. Not so much pink, but just a hair. Or what about a ruby hair comb with a hint of pink in it. Some fancy paper to journal on. Still like the hat pin idea.
You still could do some word art with a bit of maroon and pink.

I see the pink in the stones and berries - that's enough pink - lol!
I think it needs a cream colored piece of lace - either as a ribbon/bow element or a loosely scrunched up piece or maybe as the edging on a folded handkerchief.
I'm also feeling the need for something circular or oval - maybe a lacey doily or one of those cone shaped hanging ornament thingies that you can fill with candy (a little help here, does anyone know what they're called? lol) in lace.
A dance card, to be used for journaling.
Oh, and I know I'm getting ahead of myself but now I want a music print alpha to go with this kit!

The note and treble cleft are so delicate. Lauren, you are so good at this! I can see myself using this for sure.

maybe a black, satin ribbon with a metallic gold or pink thread "stiched" down the middle (kind of like my "illustration" below)

Love the black ribbon and bow. I would still like to see a round lace mat that can be used under a photo. I was thinking of black lace, but maybe pink or berry color world work too.

Oh, I do like that black lace mat a lot!!! It looks like a crocheted lace (tatting?). Beautiful!
I second Mars' request for gold netting too!!!

gold netting
Oh yes... a bit like the loosely woven florist's net, that you can sort of stretch and the weave becomes uneven.

Ooo - looking good!
Needs another pop of color - dark pink flower?
Lauren

hmm - gold netting - strip or scrunched into a fan shape????- Im kind of leaning toward another pop of colour too but Im open to persuasion

I like paula's suggestion on the flower. I thought if not a feather or bunch of feathers in the reds and pinks. Anyway looking great!

I'm leaning towards color also ... and journaling. How about a cream textured card, with a pretty bottom edge, maybe a smaller scallop, with several dots punched out of the scallop? With inked edges in reddish/pinkish/brownish. All a little distressed.

I would like to see a small card or tag with a faded musical background for journalizing -- maybe in the soft tan or golden color -- grunged at the edges and maybe a curled corner, with a whole punched in the corner for a dark pink cord, twisted cord or ribbon or possibly in a dark golden golden golor, or the dk green (the color of holly.)
As usual, Lauren, you take our sketchy ideas and develop them into another awesome kit. Looks great.

Still like the victorian card, maybe a dance card, but I do like the faded music too. Just something to journal in. My favorite is the little treble clef and the note. Those are just so cute! My piano teacher used to have paper with just the lines on it. A sheet of that, maybe with a folded look would be nice for journaling.
