Are we ready to get super Christmassy yet?

Here is one I have, I got it from a Target catalogue, but I can't find the original page, it was beach acrylic picnic ware and I thought it could be a down under Christmas, or a not so white Christmas

erm I have watched before but do you normally choose a theme too or does it just evolve from the colours?

I think a patterned (maybe harlequin?) embossed distressed cream over the blue green colour would be nice for a background

sueya

I'd like to see a dark brown paper with thin stripes in the other colours
Also a pale green and cream marbled paper

Donut

I can see a delicate leaf pattern with the green and maybe the cream colour, like the sort of soft delicate leaf patterns you see on old china tea sets.

Dark brown folded, creased cracked etc etc :)

teal color modeled with darker shades and lighter shades with a crystal/frosty pattern over it

dk brown with teal large areas all different spots on the paper blending together where they meet with lots of texture on top

I love these colors!

How about a cream backgrd with delicate swirly stems with tiny leaves on the end in the teal. (and a few in the gray)

A dotted backgrd in the teal with brown.

A teal background with brushed on rubbed of dark brown "glaze" like what you would find in a foe finished wall. Maybe a plaster type texture.

I'm so glad i found this thread I've been reading past gimmes it looks so much fun I'm thinking of the blue green color background with white feathers or paisley design soft and delicate.

Well I tried this pattern ( which is probably nothing like you were thinking of ) in the cream and tealy colour but I liked it way better on the brown

Just the colors, Q. Sometimes we have an inspiration photo to go with the colors, but the theme comes as we move along.

Man I missed the last one altogether! I better keep up!

I would like you to use the middle color and have dots of the lighter two colors on it. Not with any pattern to it though!

I really like the idea of a lighter colour to balance the lovely dark brown. Maybe the cream (or beige?) but quite plain just with a bit of texture (parchment like) or even with burnt edges. Something to offset the highly patterened 1st paper.

MarsOlson
11-29-2008, 12:40 PM
the creamy or golden colour in an almost solid background but with a lot of canvas type texture, maybe grungey/inky sort of edge. something suitable for blending. I like the paper texture of the first background.

I am still going to ask for a mostly teal with brown added for contrast and color like glazed on. Something darker than the teal and cream paper.

I love the teal color so I would also love a light brown paper with teal swirls. (or cream paper with teal leaves and swirls)

Also I am loving your paper that are torn or rumbled at the edges so anything with that would be appreciated.

As for lines I would love some lines but instead of all the colors just maybe the 3rd and 4th or maybe even just a tone on tone lined paper.

I love the creased papers - they look so great. I have to admit I'm not feeling the stripe but I'm a new girl here too! How about a faded(?) spot - not obvious or regular just random and a bit cloudy. Hope that makes sense to you because I am not sure it does to me...

Shawsi - all of our blinkies looked great earlier today when I took a peak so I dont think its us as they have gone again!

shawsi
12-01-2008, 09:47 AM
How about gray with a bit of a crinkle, or embossing. Lighter in color maybe. Something with some texture to it.

pinky7
12-01-2008, 09:55 AM
Yeah, I am not feeling the stripe either, unless it is a subtle stripe. The flowers are so lovely, we don't want to overpower them with a stripe I say subtle stripe or dots in the lightest two colors or an embossed design!

sandygb
12-01-2008, 01:56 PM
My idea of the stripe was along the lines of the white paper with wavy silver lines in:

Jeweled Frost (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=9307.html)

or the Sparkle Stripe in:

December Frost (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=9286)

I was thinking of a narrow brown stripe alternating with narrow blue-green sparkley stripe.

honeymoon

Or maybe the striped paper could actually be a paper with ribbons sewn down it in stripes, or just stitched stripes.

LOVE the color palette! I've been away for Thanksgiving, and sort of caught up.

How about ...

A distressed 6-pane frame, like an old window with speckled and peeling paint (mostly white) that could be used either for separate photos, or one main photo behind multiple panes. The outside of the frame being thicker than "mullions" separating it.

A vellum corner pocket, embossed with the floral pattern. That you could either slip the whole page corner into, or just the frame, or some journalling.

I don't know what the " button is but I think you would need to just cut and paste quotes from previous posts if you want to use more than one in just one post. Like this:-

At the bottom of the first message you want to quote, you press the funny quote button - it has an end quotation and a plus sign, and when you click it, it should change to a red background. You click that button for the various posts you want to quote. On the last post in your list of quotables, you click the regular quote button (it says quote). That should take you to advanced message screen for you to type your message.

So if you are quoting 2 different posts, click the funny quote button for the first post you are quoting, and then click the regular quote button for the second and last post you are quoting.

If you are quoting 3 different posts, click the funny quote button for the first and second posts you are quoting, and then click the regular quote button for the third and last post you are quoting.

Does that make sense?

I'd like to see a necklace chain (not straight line, but curvy) in gold or whatever color suits you best.

Glad I didn't miss this one entirely! I would love an edge overlay. I'll try to explain what I envisioned, hope it's not too confusing....gentle swirls (like the multiple stems on the floral motifs on the brown background) in a very fine antigue gold wire with the floral motif in enameled gold in each corner.

I don't seem to have a "+" button! I just copy and paste several different quotes into the same post! Could it be I don't have a "+" button because I have a Mac?

Now, where were we? How about ribbons that look like this:

I was just about to beg for a ribbon and saw your note. YES...please add a ribbon with it as one element.

Now that I've seen the flower I think it would be better if the sheeer ribbon was brown with a silver glittery edge.

I would love something like ribbon to place that flower on. Either a sheer type brownish ribbon similar to the flower with some glitter on it, or a pulled and gathered netting (like a bridal veil) in the same brown/pewtery tones.

The papers are gorgeous! Now, how about a ribbon tied in a knot with the ends dangling in the lightest color of the stripe paper, with some beads or charms on the ends on the ribbon.

I'd like to see a sheer green ribbon with a gold edge. I think it would look good if the ribbon was twisted. A matching bow would be good.

btw I can put a ribbon with this and make it one element if you want

Lots of people asked for a ribbon! So I think that would be OK. You know, you can do anything you want! LOL! It really is your kit! You just humor us and make us think we are helping!:lol::rofl: I suggest a ribbon make the ribbon and the bow as 1 element, please!:lol::lol:

Notecard for journaling. Kind of the dimensions of 5x3, brown and grungy (kind of like the tones in the flower). Tattered around the edges, with sprinkles of green/cold/copper glitter around the edges.

Kathleen

The card is perfect!! A few more ideas:

+ A pin with a dangle of beads
+ A really nice folded corner
+ A long rolled tear like the torn background in Venetian Verdigris Page Kit, but just the tear and edges so it can be put anywhere on the page

sandygb
12-05-2008, 05:33 PM
How about a strip of scalloped edge satin stitching that goes the entire width of the page. (without drop shadow so we could then put 4 together to form a square border edge for a paper or use a single strip)? Or do as a square page border and we could cut apart to use a single strip. LOL. Either in cream or pale blue-green.

Oh Lauren. I will have to be honest. When you started it I wasn't near as excited as I usually am when you do one, but I have to say that now that you have added so much depth with the elements, it has just popped! I believe this is turning out to be one of my favorites. Right fine work there lady! Beautiful!

well, i didn't ask for the bead string per se, but I did ask for a bead border or some such thing...but this is MUCH better!

I think a gold sparkley overlay for the edges would wrap this beautiful kit up nicely. Maybe you could sneak some beads into the overlay? I can't wait to either get this or add it to my cart soon!!! Either way, I love it and want it.

My DH and I thought of the same name: Chocolate Mint. Or Mint Chocolate. That's what we think of when we look at it.

I'm loving this. I can see the spring in a future kit - stretched to hold down a photo of papers on the page, with hooks at either end. Or maybe a set of spring photo corners...

For this kit however...
A larger flower - cream with glitter on the edges and maybe a touch of the mint coming from the middle.
A butterfly with crystal wings.
A jewelled/beaded brad.

The spring was really cool, and different! Great edge addition.

The last couple posts, Lauren, and I keep looking at it and it seems so complete!

How about 3 or so glass marbles, decent size (an inch?) maybe one with a fern in it, maybe one with just some gold sparkles, maybe one plain.

Bringing this forward again:

a circular, copper-edged tag - the middle is either filled in with a cream paper or is clear like glass (looks similar in shape to a pocket watch); maybe even have the tag "hanging" from a ribbon of some sort (woven, suede, leather-ish, etc.)

What about the name Refreshingly Sweet?

Also I think a beaded spiral like the one in your Venetian Verdigris kit would look good with brown and pale green beads.

Ok its not a spiral or even close - I tried but I think a spray looks better here - so now we need a name - there are lots of suggestions of " frost" names but this doesnt look like a frosty kit to me - - it does look minty though so keep up the suggestions
