Waccom Question

I have an Intous 3 tablet & have barely used it but I'm trying to learn to use it. I drew a tied bow. I actually like it but there is something funky with the drawing lines. They skip and look like stitches around the edge of my bow & the background color shows through. Is it a pressure thing when I draw?

I had a similiar situation with the same tablet and went into the properties box for the pen and changed the pen pressure to a firmer setting- might help- sometimes it is easier to use a pencil instead of a brush under the brush choices
