Week 1 – December 8 to December 14 - Lucky Dip


This is NOT bonus challenge week – in other words I’m not nominating a kit for you to use so you can use any DSP products.

This weeks random theme is: ** Scrap Lift with a difference**

I have selected 4 random layouts from the Hall Of Fame and all different styles, for you to scrap lift, you will notice that they all go back to 2006. So, what you have to do is create a layout using any one of these four layouts as the scrap lift – no others, only one of these, try to make it look as near to the original as possible (you can do more than 1 if you have time or want to)

You can use ANY DSP kit/elements, freebies or from your current stash (must only be DSP products)

If anything is not clear please just ask any questions here. I'm looking forward to seeing your layouts for this weeks challenge and I hope you enjoy playing along.

I would love to hear of any theme/s you might like to try here, I'll place it in the Lucky Dip barrel and then have a poll and the most voted on will be the next months Lucky Dip weekly theme and you can also help run it or not, that's up to you.

Some really simple rules:


Please use only DSP products
NO - Ploppers and QC’s for this weeks challenge
Journaling or themed title as it pertains to the scrap lift
Your LO can do double/triple duty as long as you put a link in this forum, especially if you intend to do all four challenges. How will I know to include you in the draw otherwise
Please comment generously on other member’s layouts in this challenge. I know I don’t really need to ask you that because you’re all so good at it anyway.

I went with a more monochromatic looking page, however. But it still incorporates the same idea, I think.

Well as they're all in the HOF, they'd have to be good :D and I know you ladies are all game to try something a bit different. I'd love to see someone try bentrdr's or shazzt's, those two look quite hard to me, I'd give it a go myself if I had the time but that wouldn't get the freebie made for this weeks chat or the next challenge kits :lol:

Well, before I even read your request, I lifted Shazzt 'Magical Boy'. Unfortunately, I seem to be having some internet connection issues and can't upload right now. Holding my spot until later when I get it all sorted out!

My plan is to try to do all of them...but I may only get one more done. So many challenges, so little time... And scraplifting these has made me want to scraplift more stuff from my Favorites list. And I still have to finish 5 more layouts for the Featured Designer Challenge. Waiting til payday so I can buy more of your products Erica! LOL! So many treasures in my wishlist...***sigh***

Okay, here's one, I'm not sure it's exactly what you had in mind, I did copy Jill W's layout, compositionally, (is that a word?) but really went the other way with the colors and I did change a shape or two! I was trying to double dip and even tho I could've gone with a white bg and still used Nicole's Spunky Sparkles kit, I really liked the dark paper in it, so I went over to the dark side!
