Here's the 1st post (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29073) to help you along. It's a lot like Lauren's Gimme A Clue if you play that with her!

I'd love it if you could link the swatch thumbnails in here too

1st I'll need color suggestions, then I will ask for background ideas. After finish the backgrounds I will then show them for element suggestions, after all the elements are done (I'll show them as i finish them) I'll put it up for name suggestions. Sometimes I'll do one background at a time, sometimes all 4 from the suggestions posted. Same goes for the elements :)

I go through mine pretty quickly- so throw out suggestions!

Winners- 1 for color scheme, 1 random, 1 for naming.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right? How many colors do you choose? Does it matter what you use for inspiration?

wuvie
01-09-2009, 12:10 AM
ok, you know you are going to get grunge from me :D
gradient light blue with sploches of the darker blue around edges
the deep red with light shadow shade swirls
dotted swiss faded in the center
tiny gingham checks
notebook style stripes

mcbowersox
01-09-2009, 12:16 AM
I like the stripes around the edge of the sari, so a bg like that.

And a bg inspired by the flower/circle print on the rest of the sari.

Leea

How about the two rose/red colors together on a background, one as background and one as swirls, or flowers?
The colors all look good together, so how about a background that has all of them...a stripe or floral or a stained glass looking background?

Or something swirly in the blue colors.

mommabyrd2003
01-09-2009, 10:30 AM
I have to chime in and asked for a plain light bg. Doesn't have to 100% plain, however I like having the option of a lighter bg sometimes. I also like to have something lighter to crop for journalling.

How about a paisley sticker, a circle shaped journal paper, a necklacey type element (this one is hard to describe, but something that drops down like your key and chain did in the last kit).

JenniferG

A circle clear or white sequin frame (the indian sarees I own have sequin all over it)

mariafer
01-09-2009, 11:58 AM
how about a circle border element. With different types of circles... somewhat like stickers and fun...

Maybe a square border if not circle

wuvie
01-09-2009, 12:26 PM
The pattern circles from the first paper
ruby red and gold hanging gems
shear ribbon
hanging tassle
lacy butterfly

bamabreeze10

how about a glitter swirl or a sequined/jeweled border?

handkl
01-09-2009, 12:50 PM
1. A sticker using the pattern from circle background.
2. Perhaps a collection of circle elements using that same pattern, but with different colours that could be used a corner or across the page - does that make sense?
2. A heart shaped journaling tag, but not too largee
3. Satin ribbons in teal, blue, or pink

I think that enough for now.

minnmom79

Leea
01-09-2009, 01:16 PM
how about a circle or circles of bling...little round diamonds that sparkle with the various colors (blue diamond, pink diamond, etc)
how about a really curly swirly element, maybe with little dots of color sprinkled around it?
a swirly vine with the red/pink colors as a floral design?
a gem element, in the red or pink color, or maybe the blue color?
a striped frame like the border of the background with stripes?

I keep thinking about the garment that the colors were based on, it's really pretty :) I looked at the latest update and tried to look at it as if I didn't know what it was based on...the circles background...to me...has a little of the 70's look... :) how about a striped word art...maybe COOL! or something like that? I love the stripe border and am trying to think of ways to get more of it in the kit... :)

Leea

I can't think of any good ones right now but I'll get back to you on it if I think of one! OOR a ribbon that matches the striped border on the paper!? Great kit so far Tina!!!

mommabyrd2003
01-09-2009, 10:07 PM
Love the multiple pic frame idea, however I'd like to see some other shapes tossed in for variety. Maybe a circle with a rectangle or square. I'd prefer the frames to be the neutral color, aged, and be warped/bent.

I'd like a silky knotted in places ribbon - thick but not too thick. The stripes would be great for it. Knots are optional.

Just an optical illusion on the sample i guess. It's not floating, but 'wraps' around the edge of the button.

not surprizingly to me, it has turned in to a really off the wall idea

a long flowing cluster of grass type leaves
rounded star shapes any or miltible colors
a cream color seahorse with a gem eye

I warned you I was off the wall

I'd like the option of having a single frame, as well, so maybe a circle or rectangular frame....either in the same frame "material" as the multi frame, or as I previously suggested, a sequined frame....maybe the frame material with a few sequin on it....

and an overlay would be great...an edge overlay..grunge or sparkly...or swirly....

it'd be neat to have some kind of element thats stand alone... maybe not a flower, but a design of some kind. Something that compliments the geometric shapes in there - something circular - maybe that holds journaling?

I love it! Ouch! My pocket book just hit me!

Now I think we are ready for the name, right? Well, this kit is very retro to me and with all the talk about it lately:

Revolutionary Road
Rockin' Retro

I like the red flair better because the design stands out more on it. The pink is also not really a predominant color in the kit. (They may actually be a reason to keep it, LOL)

Slight modification:

Rockin' Red Retro (with the nice red flair, LOL)

Can we have both of the flairs? ;)

Actually, that just leads my back to my wish for designanaddonpack!

Whichever you don't put in this kit you could put in the add-on pack! I also love the bling you put at the bottom of the frame and I'd love to have a larger version of it, in the same or slightly different colors, that I could use elsewhere on the page! And, of course, more striped paper! Maybe the same type of stripes with the pink color more dominant. Plus the millions of other ideas above! Maybe we should designakit2 and designanaddonpack! I'm just being silly (and a little bit serious!)

Honestly, I wish all kits in the store had an add on pack and/or a second matching kit. I love having a large choice of embellishments!

This is a great kit! I really love it! It's definitely on my wish list!

I too like the red flair. It stands out more. I also love the single frame with bling!!! and the little hanging tag!! awesome! and the flower....i love it all!!

retrolicious sounds good for a name

I also think something indian ish after the sari would be good:

I found this information here:
http://www.articlesbase.com/international-business-articles/mundum-neriyathum-575808.html

and a good name would be Lal Kara or Kara Lal (lal means red in hindi)...or something with Kara in its name. Lal Mundu Kara.

Red is a very important color to the Hindu's. Used for marriages, births, etc... Info here (http://www.webonautics.com/mythology/factsinhindu2.html).

"The mundum neryathum is traditionally white or cream in colour and consists of two pieces of cloth, which have a coloured strip at the border known as kara. The piece of cloth that drapes the lower garment is called the mundu. "

Sorry for all the information...just thought that since the inspiration was from an Indian Sari, maybe name fitted towards that would be good. And there's no hidden meanings in my name suggestion. Lal Mundu Kara sounds pretty too.

I really like the stripe too, an add on pack with the stripe would be great :) The kit is wonderful Tina!
It reminds me of the 70's when I was a teenager :)
Maybe a 70's add on pack...stripe, plaid, tye dye, page of scattered bling?
more names:
Shades of the 70's (Seventies)
