Well I do, aside from the date, place and names I seldom add any substantial journaling to my pages.. (eloquence with words is not my thing).
Lisa Carter has a new challenge this year 52 pick up (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36214) where you scrap a page about each week of the year, sort of a picture diary of the year, which I think is a great way to scrap everyday things you might not otherwise put on a layout.
Anyhow, she started a thread, this week in my life (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36222)where we journal about our week. What a great way to jot your thoughts down while they are still fresh in your mind, and find them later when you are ready to scrap. I can't find anything in my house, scissors, tape, pens, they all disappear...now when I am ready to scrap, I can refer to the thread and add my journaling.
It also forces me to write something more than the date and place, which is a discipline I need. For me, looking back at past layouts that have journaling is more gratifying and allows me to re-live those memories instead of just looking at pretty pictures. I always omit journaling telling myself, "I will remember" or "well I know what the story is"- truth be told, I find myself saying oh yeah...when I do read the journaling... must be the old age creeping in.
Thanks for a great thread Lisa- I will use it often- and I am sure my journaling will improve because of it. I do hope a lot of people will check it out.
