I use CS3 now but I used Elements for more than four years and found it an excellent program to scrap with. The only reason I moved was because I got more into the photographic side of things (which Elements is also good at but lacks advanced options) and I got a deal on price. I would recommend Elements to anyone (unless they are easily able to afford Photoshop proper).

Welcome to DSP!!! I use elements 6.0 but have never used anything else, so I really cant offer you a comparison. I am happy, though, with what I can accomplish with Elements... Looking forward to seeing you around!

I used Elements 5.0 and it suits my needs perfectly. I'm strictly into photo editing and layout creating, but I do not design my own kits. I've been able to find everything I need in the DSP store.

I used Elements for years, and happily scrapped with it :) .. like Shazzt, I switched to Photoshop CS4 when my focus was more on photography, but Elements does a good job on photos, too :)

That is me as well - in a nut shell! I started with PSE and used it for several years before taking the leap last year to PSCS3. I would recommend that everyone start with PSE then if they love digiscraping and photography - save your pennies and upgrade later. If you register PSE, Adobe will send you offers and special promos from time to time. I never felt that elements lacked any power or didn't do what I wanted.

You can actually try them both. There are 30 day trials on adobe.com

I use PSE7 and I love it.

If I were you I'd start with the PSE trial and see how you like it. Then if you still want to you can try the other.

WHen it comes to buying you can get it for about $80 at Costco and Sam's. I was lucky cause when I was buying Costco had a coupon for $30 off, so I got it for $50. You should watch, maybe you could find a deal like that while doing the trial.

Anyhow, welcome to DSP. Be prepared to lose large chunks of time! :) This is the best place!

Welcome Linda!

I agree with Meryl, PSE is more than suitable for scrapping, and is quite a versatile program. You really don't need more than that unless you are designing or really want to learn more advanced techniques.

Welcome to DSP Lidia, congratulations on your forthcoming happy event but please take care of yourself and baby :) and yes, such an ideal time to learn a new software programme to help you scrap those gorgeous photos you're sure to have once baby arrives.

Hi Linda and Welcome!

I have to agree with the others about PSE
but you have to remember I am an Adobe nut! I just LOVE their products!!!
Hope you find the software you like and can start scrapping with us!!!
