Well, I'll get things started.

I call this one Marmalade.

I visited my family in California last month, and even though it has only been 14 years since we moved away, I was blown away by all the citrus on the trees. I think winter is the perfect time for sunny colors.

I also like the colors in this because they remind me of the '70s. In fact, our wedding stoneware was called Marmalade.

I'm not sure how large to run the image. The one above is too small (but it links over to the gallery). Here it is larger, and if it's too big, I'll be happy to delete it.

This is a picture I took of my daughter this fall. I loved these little dresses and bought them specifically to take pictures. It was a gorgeous fall day and we stopped at the park on the way home from church. It could be called something like Pretty in Plaid.

Total Relaxation
This is a picture of the beach in Cabos San Jose where my DH and I went for our 10th anniversary this summer. We spent lots of time relaxing in these chairs, watching the enormous waves and sipping daquiris. I even had a massage on the beach.

Here are a few...Some swatches that I submit don't have pictures, as I loved them when I saw them on kuler.adobe.

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/6620/Gimmie-Clue-swatch_1.jpg
I love this picture of my daughter wearing this shirt. The colors were so pretty together and they brought out the blue in her eyes. It's my favorite shirt if hers. I've been submitting this to all the create a kit threads by designers for a bit, hoping it'll be chosen.

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/6620/Sea_Foam_swatch.jpg
This is a color scheme that I've submitted to a couple create a kit by designer threads, and it is always close to being picked, but not quite picked.

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/6620/Zen_and_Tea_Swatch.jpg
I saw this on kuler.adobe and loved it; both the name and the colors. It was called Zen and Tea.

I thought these colors were so pretty! Downloaded them from kuler.adobe, so I don't have an inspiration picture for this one either.

WOW what gorgeous colours and I love the inspirational thoughts behind them. This is exactly what I mean :)

That photo of your daughter and her shirt is adorable Jennifer, love the soft tones in this one.

And what a fantastic name for a kit - Marmalade, think there may be a similar name in the store - but we will see.

That checked dress looks so cute on your daughter, no wonder you bought them especially.

I am so thrilled with what I'm seeing, keep 'em coming :D

I have 19 swatches in my Swatches Album. Don't think you want me to post them all at once, though.

LOL, would be great to see them all though but a few at a time would be cool :D

Here's my first suggestion. I love the colours in this photo I took when we were on holiday over Christmas, it reminds me of lazy days spent sitting under the Pohutukawa trees on the beach, with the gentle breeze cooling us and the ocean lapping invitingly at the shore...bliss! :)

Oh yes, this sounds so inviting and I love our 'Christmas Tree' along the shorelines here. (for those who don't know, we call the NZ Pohutukawa our Christmas Tree as it flowers at Christmastime)

I love this rose.
It's my favorite rose named "La Belle" (nice title for a kit I think)and these were also used in my dd's wedding bouquet.

I for one am addicted to these.... especially the color scheme part... so here goes:

Tropical Fruit colors. We had a geography fair and we took food from my native Honduras. I just love the colors of a nicely ripping Mango... someday I might make a color scheme just of it.

I wish for purse... this is one of the new coach purses. I love going to look at them and was pleasantly surprised when I saw these new colorful purses.

And one last one... I got from the bracelet I made my daughter with beads I found on sale (the second bracelet she is wearing).

They are stunning roses Janet, I love the soft pinks and apricots.

What a cute purse, love the splash of magenta with the neutrals.

Great inspirational ideas flowing here along with the awesome colour schemes.

This is so yummy ... wish the colors fit my color scheme in the house!

I love going to art.com to get ideas for colors, etc. Alfred Gockel is a really talented artist whose work just seems to jump out at me every time I see it.

These "hot" colors are just perfect inspiration for a kit. The name Rhumba in Red shouts out for a sultry design complete with tassels and bows and shimmery papers.

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/4731/COLOURS_BY_SPOTTY.png it is taken from a photo I took of my DGS building towers - what else does a nine year old build...

I think I would like to make the blue less aggressive

Call this one "The Road Not Taken"

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/6712/green-path.jpg
A picture I found on art.com (like someone suggested).

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Here's mine. This is the first color theme I have done. I was not sure how many colors we were to pick. Funny but they are not colors I would normally pick. I usually shy away from bright colors. But I do like them and Angel does look good in pink and green so I can see myself doing a LO with these colors.

Oh gosh NO! LOL I can't sew worth a darn. So unless my husband wants to step up to the plate each year (he actually sews prototypes for our business so he's way better than me ) Megan is going to be dressed in store bought costumes.

OK - colour submissions finished for this month - now I have my work cut out for me to choose just three of these fab colour schemes.

I'll be back soon to set up the poll with my chosen three

spotty
02-05-2009, 02:41 AM
I am most intrigued to see what you choose, Erica. Do you look for something almost neutral so that it fits many LOs; or something that excites you; or may be something challenging? Or none of those?

Erica
02-05-2009, 01:18 PM
Actually I only choose three to be voted on, the final choice is over to you when the votes are all tallied. For my choice of three I chose bold, soft and bright, all three different. Personally I find bolder colours more challenging to work with.:)

Am still waiting to hear about a poll for the colours...

Hi Jo - all threads for What Now? in February are here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=796) under the main What Now heading. Sorry you missed out on the voting but I'm still looking for ideas for BG's and elements coming soon. Feel free to jump in whenever you like. :)

Thanks for the link, Erica; I looked all over the place
At least the poll winner is what I would have voted for!
