I got another free photobooks coupon in my email from Artscow.com (http://www.artscow.com/?Ref=422128) this morning, so if you missed out on some or all of the previous 12 books offer they ran, here's your chance to grab some extra books for free!
1. Log in at Artscow, or open a new (free) account HERE (http://www.artscow.com/?Ref=422128). You get a huge stash of freebies when you open the account.
2. Go to "Credit & Discount" in your account menu, and input this coupon code:
FREE10BKS
This code is live until 28 February, and gives you ten free 20-page Photobook credits. You can use up to five credits per month.
Have fun!

Oh you're welcome!
I've also posted a handy free template for creating covers for Artscow 8" books. You can find it HERE (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=301446).

Thanks for sharing Robyn! For both the coupon and the template! Do you have to turn in the coupon now, even if you are not ready to print a book?

Ruby :)
The coupon is valid until the end of Feb, and the credits are split. Five are valid 6 Feb - 6 March, and the other five 6 March - 6 April.

Just signed up and thank you for the information. 2 days is not much time to start from scratch! Do you print the inside of the covers as one of your pages?

Cindy, the inside of the covers are plain paper. Your first layout (the one called 'Title Page' in the software you create the book in, on the Artscow website) is the first facing page as you open the book. If it were a newspaper, it would be page three. Does that make sense?

Ruby...do you know what kind of paper the books are printed on? I don't need the technical specs, but is it thin like magazine paper or is it thicker?

Thanks Ruby! I thought it would be like a regular book, but never seeing one I thought maybe they made use of all available print areas! Was going to try to get enough pages for a book, but I don't think I will make it!

Thanks! I'm off to check out the template!
I just got my calendar from Artscow and I'm happy with it. My photobook hasn't come yet, though.
I'm wondering how they can offer all this free stuff. My calendar was free and I paid $7.99 for shipping. The postage sticker on the package said $25.10. How on earth can they do that?

Remember you're charged in US dollars, but they are paying in HK dollars - $25.10 HK is about $3.25 US.
The paper is a medium heavyweight, heavier than magazine pages but not as heavy as premium books from the very expensive printers. It's nice quality, IMHO, and for the price... Well, hard to do better.

I wondered about that. . . but I thought it was US.
Well that makes more sense.
I wonder how much it costs them to print one of these books, cause they're still not making much.
