I just saw this in the shop and it was love at first sight. It is a gorgeous kit and although my week is packed already I'm definitely going to try and play along this time.

I think a seagul of some sort and a sand overlay would be great additions to this.

Awesome Chris!!! I have this in my cart awaiting checkout! I don't have any beach or lighthouse photos, but I have a great idea for a layout!

One of those bell bouys would be cool and maybe a striped white and red background... and a seal and maybe a starfish and sea shell....and maybe a wooden background....a wooden bridge...

that's just off the top of my head...gotta go buy the kit now! LOL!

Oh, and since there was no frame, maybe a feathery type frame, like the feathers forming a rectangle or circle... or a frame that's like a weathered fence....or a cloud frame...

who suggested a rain drop, puddle kind of overlay last week. I am thinking that might go really well with this. What do you think?

oh and another cute idea I had was to do 3 round logs upright, tied together like that holds up a pier, thumbs up or thumbs down?

I'd love to see what this would look like!!!!

Oh! You could do a log, like ones that wash up on the shore...and maybe an old clear glass bottle with sand in and around it...or plain. we could journal on it

I can't really draw either...but maybe you can find a clip art on clipart.com and alter it in some way so it looks like the same type of texture as the moon in the kit...

Would waves be too hard to do? Like an OL or a BG? I love the log idea Chris. Some shells, sea dollars, crab, seal, a ship maybe? These all seem so hard, but it's you who's the master! If I have more ideas I'll come back.

Thumbs up on both ideas, Chris!

How about a sandy beach background, maybe with some tufts of seagrass

A sand castle
A seagull
An old schooner
A shovel and pail
A beach hat
Sunglasses
A beach towel
A big umbrella
A bottle of sunscreen

You always see rope (a rope frame) or fishing net by the ocean or a few cute rocks that could work as a journaling matt. I love sea glass and it would make a gorgeous element. I used to collect it...Pieces of colored glass that have been tumbled by the sea in the sand till they are irregular blobs of color that are slightly milky looking with all the scratching. I see lots of jewlery made with it at craft shops by the coast

I haven't read the suggestions but think a little sailboat would be cute.

Also I would love the AOP to have a striped background. Maybe a diagonal striped paper would be cool.

I also really like cupcakes idea

I love your *three upright logs tied together* idea, Chris.

How about an old row boat and an oar. Where we salmon fish in Lake Michigan, you have to go out a canal, and along the canal is the lighthouse, plus the light keepers' residence. How about a background of clapboard, or it could even be an overlay.

Oh! Oh! There's always a cobblestone wall, so that would be great! How about some waves with little whitecaps???

I got it! I got it!! How about an old, rusty spiral staircase.

How 'bout a bobber, or a piece of fly fishing tackle! Oh, and the light house has a green/red light on it; how about that, with the beams coming out, like your's on the lighthouse?

Look at all the suggestions this kit has inspired already. OMG... You could have 3 kits!!!

I would love to see a couple of seagulls flying. You know how they soar low over the water when they're fishing.

And some seals too. Bobbing out of the water. (when I see this kit, I think of when I was in Cape Cod where there are lots of lighthouses and I saw seals by the seashore).

I also see sand dunes and pebbles and a wave overlay...that was a really cool idea. The overlay with the puddle...great idea too!

Can't wait to see the result. Oh... don't make it an addon. Make it a full kit! How's that for an idea :-) :-) :-)

I hope this link will work, if not I'll figure it out. But when I saw your kit, it reminded me of these decorations on my boys wall. So here is a pic of some fun things you could make.

LOL - Raphne stole my ideas!!!!!!!!

ROFL I'm tricky that way hehe

a couple more ideas:

A sand dollar
A starfish
shells!

And I think a whole second kit sounds like a great idea-- I just LOVE coordinating kits! But I doubt you want to go that far for the bonus. . . so, how about an aop for the bonus and a whole second kit for the store? ;)

JenniferG

I agree! Chris, you have enough suggestions here for a whole new kit or two!!!

Forgot to add that you could create a starfish background or a fish background or some such thing....or a "waves" background. You know, like how the ocean looks when there's a lot of wind going on and its grey skies? Right before a storm hits....I always think the sea looks so majestic then....

OK I got it done, and since there were soooo many great suggestions, I decided to make it a full kit! :yahoo:
