Help from Corel Photo-Paint users please!!

Anyone?!?!?

I have an older version (Corel Photo-Paint 8) and it does have the Magic Wand Mask Tool. However, I don't think it works like newer software (Corel or otherwise)--atleast I can't get it to. :D
I have a DSP QC that I adore but have not been able to use---the shadows associated with the squares all turn out just lighter shades of the paper/picture I'm using instead of actual shadows. Most people indicate using the Magic Wand when using QCs, but if I try, it selects all shades of gray, including the white and black.

Can anyone help in any way??:pray:

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8, and I had a problem for a while with useing .png files and also quick clicks. I took the program off my computer and reinstalled it and also got an update from the Corel web site for it and now it works fine. Not sure this will work for you but you can try it and see what happens.
