ebears is looking for suggestions and advice on how to create cards from photographs. If anyone has done this please share any tips. thanks

. . . I was thinking of making cards using some of my photos such as these (http://www.pbase.com/ebears/tulips) what do people think?
I am just not sure about how to do it - do you print on normal A4 and cut into 2 cards? or do you buy card blanks from soemwhere?
Any ideas or comments would be greatfully received.

ebears...my aunt makes her own cards from nature photos. From what I can tell, she usually puts a small frame (usually just a simple rectangle) around the photo and prints the photo on the bottom half of a standard size of heavy weight paper and then folds it in half. They are always beautiful.

You're pictures are stunning...they should be lovely cards. Good luck!

I make cards & invitations also. I use some pre-scored card stock that folds to 5x7 that I get at a craft store. I design my page with the photo on the lower half or the right side, depending on whether it's portrait or landscape, and print on my HP All in One. You could use a matte or satin finish paper and make them half-fold cards, envelopes for those can be purchased at places like Office Depot or Staples.

Those are some beautiful photos!

Here in the states, you can go to a paper scrapbook or craft store, and buy blank card stock. You could print your photos smaller size and paste them onto the card stock, maybe add a little simple rafia and be done.

I have ordered some cards from Kodak Gallery where I was able to do my design in photoshop, and upload the image as a single JPG. They look quite professional. PhotoWorks, Shutterfly, Costco, and a few others certainly offer similar services. I'll be back in a bit with a few links, and see what might be available for overseas.
