DBF....makes me kinda homesick, though....
We love it here and wouldn't change it for anything.
1. You know the provincial flower (Mildew).
2. You feel guilty throwing aluminum cans or paper in the trash.
3. You use the statement "sunny break" and know what it means.
4. You know more than 10 ways to order coffee.
5. You know more people who own boats than air conditioners.
6. You feel overdressed wearing a suit to a nice restaurant.
7. You stand on a deserted corner in the rain waiting for the "Walk" signal.
8. You consider that if it has no snow, it is not a real mountain.
9. You can taste the difference between Starbucks, City Blends, and Tim Horton's.
10. You know the difference between Chinook, Coho, and Sockeye salmon.
11. You know how to pronounce Squamish, Osoyoos, Nanaimo and Tsawwassen.
12. You consider swimming an indoor sport.
13.. You can tell the difference between Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian, and Thai food.
14. In winter, you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark - while only working eight-hour days.
15. You never go camping without waterproof matches and a poncho.
16. You are not fazed by "Today's forecast: showers followed by rain," and "Tomorrow's forecast: rain followed by showers."
17. You cannot wait for a day with "showers and sunny breaks"
18. You have no concept of humidity without precipitation.
19. You know that Dawson Creek is a town, not a TV show.
20. You can point to at least two ski mountains, even if you cannot see through the cloud cover.
21. You notice "the mountain is out" when it is a pretty day and you can actually see it.
22. You put on your shorts when the temperature gets above 5, but still wear your hiking boots and parka.
23. You switch to your sandals when it gets about 10, but keep your socks on.
24. You have actually used your mountain bike on a mountain.
25. You think people who use umbrellas are either wimps or tourists.
26. You recognize the background shots in your favourite movies & TV shows.
27. You buy new sunglasses every year, because you can't find the old ones after such a long time.
28. You measure distance in hours.
29. You often switch from "heat" to "a/c" in your car in the same day.
30. You use a down comforter in the summer.
31. You carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them.
32. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit under a raincoat.
33. You know all the important seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Raining (Spring), Road Construction (Summer) & Raining Again (Fall).
34. You actually understand these jokes and forward them to all your friends in British Columbia or those who used to live here!

My younger sister drags me to a Paper Scrapbooking convention every summer at my birthday time. She loves it so much I don't want to spoil her fun. I go to the classes and look at them as a way to see new design ideas. We bring tons of paper supplies and scrap in our hotel room at night. Last year whe bought PSE and I tried to get her started Digi scrapping. Still has ZERO layots here at DSP but I will keep trying.
raffie sounds like your sister and mine are identical I've tried over and over again tog et her to digi scrap but she has a whole room full of paper scrapping supplies which I might add she hasnt touched for porobably a year
Me too! :yahoo:
Had a really great time geocaching with Scamp this morning even though my DH found most of the caches. What is funny about this is that he says he really doesn't care all that much for geocaching. ;)
sounds wonderful Karen and tell me was there any coffee and food stops along the way???? Now tell the truth

Oh my dears, I wish so much that I could just climb into this thread.
The man-child is really giving me grief. I even think I might be done with it all. I really feel bad about that but I am just so tired of his negative attitude and is lack of willingness to truly embrace where he lives now.
He doesn't realize it but he makes excuses to reject people as a defense mechanisim. If he rejects you fist, he does not give you the chance to reject him. Every one is a jerk, a b*tch, a nerd,...you name it but no one he would ever want to know.
This weekend he wanted to go up north (Michigan weekend vacation spot) with his girlfriend and her family. I said no because he hasn't been home on the weekends in a while because his mother was moving, his attitude has been stinky, and ... I still have issues with him going away for the weekend with the girly-girl. All they do is agrue anyway.
So he is making my life a living h3ll this weekend. I suggested that he find some friends to do something with me. He was all too happy to remind me that he HAD friends that he could do things with BUT I wouldn't let him go away for the weekend.
I'm just so frustrated.
Now he's talking about summer vacation. He plans to go stay with his Dad for a while and then his sister. I'm good with that. It's the rest that is not working out for me. He plans to continue to hang with the same crowd from his mother's neighborhood only his mother no longer lives there. He has no place to stay except for the girly-girl's house. He claims that he will be hardly home (my house) this summer at all.
I'm sorry but I do have issues with this. If he is indeed part of my family then he has to realize that I would have to be out of my FREAKIN' mind to allow a high school junior this kind of freedom.
I do have to have another talk with him and tell him that he must choose. Honestly, I don't think I'll be trying to convince him to stay. I have to give both my sister and my ex-brother-in-law a heads up. I bet that if they even think there is a possibility that the kid might end up back with either of them, they will be all over him to tow the line. I don't want him to tow the line because his parents told him he has to or because I told him he has to. I want him to tow the line because this is were he wants to live and he knows that is what he HAS to do to live here.
There...I'm done.
I think I'll have WoodsySven take me out somewhere. Anywhere.
One the upside, I am working on a great new kit in honor of Etta, my fish fry granny. Oh read my bio here again. Etta is mentioned in there.
Thanks so much for letting me cry on your shoulders for a bit.

Dropping of my DBL then going back to try and catch up. I had my little pout not getting to the next round of DET, then things got busy and I never got back here again. I've got two more albums to put together for DH, then as soon as he's done editing his photos I have to design a graphic style album for the wedding he shot last weekend. Looks like we have three big trips this summer. The regular one to TN for the week leading to 4th of July. Then a trip to Disney mid Aug and finally just before Alex starts Kindergarten we're going to the Albany NY area for a family reunion. Going up a few days early to spend a couple days at Lake George. Feeling a little crazed already. Because I know we have to do some planning for Disney to avoid overstimulated cranky kids.
WVS,WOS etc etc and Congratulations and Hugs becuase I'm sure there were plenty of both in the last week.

I agree completely. Plus, woodsy, he would resent the restrictions if he were your biological child -- it's the nature of the beast. The difference is that he can stretch those boundaries a lot more than he could otherwise. (A principal I worked for always said a teenager is a kid who will ask/demand something the 100th time to see if you really meant "no" the first 99.)
It sounds like he has a choice to make.

Woodsy, he will someday appreciate that you were tough on him. He may even say "thank you for setting boundaries" but maybe not until he is a Father himself. You have done a good thing all of his life, hang in there. Maybe he will need to live some where else for awhile. Good luck to all of you.

Thanks so much. You are all wonderful.
Woodsy Sven took me to Walmart and Meijer. Walmart did not have the white 12 by 12 card stock I wanted but that's alright since the outing was more important than the card stock. Woodsy Sven is a shopping mad man in Meijer. We could not leave there until he had found all of the great deals on food. Shamelessly, I stood near the check outs and read a people magazine cover to cover.

Oh and speaking of People Magazine, they showed a picture of the New Housewives of whatever. I just had to snicker because I knew darn well that no housewife I ever saw wore clothes like that. Got me thinking that maybe me and Bus Stop Jeni should do a Housewives of Howell. She was after all, in an apron today. The was covering up her Miller Lite t-shirt. Yeah baby!! What a sight we would be in People Magazine!

The dentist called today and said, "Come on over. The new crown is in." So I zipped over there - he held the crown up to my mouth and said, "You know, you really can't tell if it matches until it is in your mouth lined up with all the other teeth." So, he tries to take the temporary crown off so he can put the new permanent one in --- then he said, "I can't get it off. I think I must have accidentally glued the temporary crown in with permanent glue instead of temporary glue." I thought he was trying to crack some kind of sick joke. But alas, he was not joshing. He had to saw and pry, saw and pry, saw and pry to get the yellow temporary crown off. It was rather grueling. Then he finally got the permanent crown in my mouth (not glued in) and we all looked - and it did not match. The crown making lady was there and she said she would have a new one by Monday. Can you believe this? My new temporary crown is not as yellow as the last one, but it is still significantly yellow and does not match my other teeth AT ALL. Has this been going on long enough???:annoyed:

Ooooo, you better be careful or you're going to get in BIG trouble. We have a granny -- I dare not mention any names here -- who is more than a little proud of her mighty amplitudes. So I would be VERY careful about getting in an amplitudes contest with the reigning amplitudinous one who shall remain nameless. I'm Baaack! We had a great time, but a little jet lagged! Maybe now I can stay on a normal sleep/wake schedule! Can't catch up so WEES, to everyone who needs it!
Also, a funny for your Sat night pleasure:
NOW HERE IS A DOCTOR I WOULD LISTEN TO.........
Will I Live to see 80?
I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two
visits and exhaustive Lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age.
(I just turned 60.)
A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist
asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'
He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?'
'Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'
Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?
'I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that all
red meat is very unhealthy!'
'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing
golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'
'No, I don't,' I said.
He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, play rock and roll, or have a
lot of ---?'
'No,' I said.
He looked at me and said...
'Then, why do you even give a s**t?

I saw this band up close in person in a hotel parking lot near the airport. I was waiting for my brother-in-law's plane to arrive but didn't want to keep driving the loop so I pulled into the Marriot to wait for his call. Their tour bus showed up. The members all got out go into the Marriot and came back out again. They kept walking right past me looking at me. I had no idea who they were. I figured I'd look to see who was having concerts in the area. Too funny. Do you think I hurt their ego because I did not rush up and ask for a photo or an autograph?

Cry away, sweetheart....it's in the nature of teens (and all kids, really) to push their boundaries to the limit. I can't give you any advice, but sending lots of prayers & love your way. :love1:  :love1:

   Welcome home darlin'!!!

DBH In honor of all those who "enjoy" their mammograms;
Mammogram's
Many women are afraid of their first mammogram, but there is no need to worry.
By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam and doing the
following exercises, you will be totally prepared for the test and best of all,
you can do these simple exercises right in and around your home.
EXERCISE ONE:
Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast in door. Shut the door as
hard as possible and lean on the door for good measure.
Hold that position for five seconds. Repeat again in case the first time
wasn't effective enough.
EXERCISE TWO:
Visit your garage at 3AM when the temperature of the cement floor is just
perfect. Take off all your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one
breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the
car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and
repeat with the other breast.
EXERCISE THREE:
Freeze two metal bookends overnight. Strip to the waist.. Invite a stranger
into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts.
Smash the bookends together as hard as you can. Set up an appointment with the
stranger to meet next year and do it again.
YOU ARE TOTALLY PREPARED!

And in the Midwest, somewhere, I'm sure this is being repeated...
One Sunday in a Midwest City, a young child was "acting up" during the morning worship hour.
The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the pew, but were losing the battle.
Finally, the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out.
Just before reaching the safety of the foyer, the little one called loudly to the congregation,
"Pray for me! Pray for me!"

DBF - I got some good emails today.
FIRST TIME S*X ............
A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night to meet, and have a dinner with her parents.
Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time.
The boy is ecstatic, but he has never had s*x before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it's his first time and the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and s*x. At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he'd like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all.
That night, the boy shows up at the girl's parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door. 'Oh, I'm so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!' The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl's parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head. A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head down.
10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy.
Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girlfriend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, 'I had no idea you were this religious' The boy turns, and whispers back, 'I had no idea your father was a pharmacist'
Thanks Rosie !! Needed these jokes to sort out my sinuses !!!:rofl:

I agree with a lot of what you said. I really think they could have made Edward more attractive. All I could think of when I saw him was a C- James Dean. Otherwise, I was happy that there were not too many special effects. The grey, sallow tone of it all was to be expected but, man! It was depressing. I am reading book 3 right now. I hope the next movie isn't as colorless as this one was. I know, it is Washington State, and pale vampires, and all, but at least the Indian Reservation could be in living color.

Well, I still have tons of paper supplies and need to use them up because I am kinda frugal that way. I usually try and use my digi pages and 'embelish them up' .

I have THREE TEENAGE DAUGHTERS and if you think that that isn't trying boy do I have some stories for you. If they were neices, they would have been long gone as I am usually at my wits end with one of the three. #2 is currently the one that I want to tie from a tree by her thumbs or put tape over her mouth.
ugh :( my grandmother called with some grave news a little while ago... my great uncle Ray passed away last night after being ill for quite a while...
I need to collect some pictures and possibly put together a LO in his memory :( What a bummer this day has turned out to be...
Oh my gosh - I have a headache from playing on my apps. I have been in a fishing tournament and I won. Whacking great big fish I caught, too!
For those who can't see into my screen... I got a free ipod touch using points and it's taken over my life.
YUM, fresh fish! What kind of fish did you catch?

Oh my dears, I wish so much that I could just climb into this thread.
I'm sorry you're feeling sad and frustrated but love the way you said it. Think we have a new granny saying.
Well I'm just the opposite Woodsy - mines quite fancy - but it's one of those extra strong sports bras! Keeps me from getting black eyes and bruised knees when I run!
[See -- I'm afraid that even identifying her might get ME a black eye from those things. ]
Let me just toss this number out there....36 DDD
It's okay Omi, she has gone interstate for a week. Phew!!!!!!!;)
but I know where she is....send me kisses or I will tell:yes::yes::yes::yes:
I'll send ya kisses, but I still want you to 'tattle'!
Daggie, you will always get hugs and kisses from us but Dixie is right -- you MUST tattle! See? I've even made it easy for you to do so by recapping comments in one post. If you don't tattle, the rest of us might miss out on all the fun!! Do you think all three of them will end up giving each other "black eyes"?  [I forgot she was traveling -- wondered what the hold-up was on a response. Can't wait to hear it.]

Good Morning Ladies and a
Very happy Mothers Day
to all those who celebrate it today.
Happy Mothers Day! Where is it Mothers Day today? In oz it is the second sunday in May.
. . . Is it Englands Mothers Day? Happy Mothers Day from me too! . . .
In Canada it's May too so I had to google this
Mothering Sunday - The UK's version of Mother's Day
Mothering Sunday is always the fourth Sunday of Lent
(Mothering Sunday in UK in 2009 - 22 March
(Mother's Day in US in 2009 - 10 May)
Mothering Sunday is not a fixed day because it is always the middle Sunday in Lent. It has been celebrated in the UK since the 16th century.
Mothering Sunday was also known as 'Refreshment Sunday' because the fasting rules for Lent were relaxed, in honour of the 'Feeding of the Five Thousand'.
No one is absolutely certain exactly how the idea began. However, it is known that on this day, about four hundred years ago, people made a point of visiting their nearest big church (the Mother Church). People who visited their mother church would say they had gone "a mothering."
Young British girls and boys 'in service' were only allowed to visit their family one day each year. This was usually Mothering Sunday. Often the housekeeper or cook would allow the maids to bake a cake to take home for their mother. Flowers were traditional, as they could gather them on their way home through the meadows.
Mothering Sunday is also sometimes known as Simnel Sunday because of the tradition of baking Simnel cakes. The Simnel cake is a fruit cake with a layer of marzipan placed on top of and decorated with 11 marzipan balls representing the 12 apostles minus Judas, who betrayed Christ.
In recent times Mothering Sunday in Britain has taken on the name and character of the US Mother's Day.

oh my sweet lord. today has been absolutely just wow. Me and the family went out with my uncle and cousin on the ATV's (quad, 4wheeler)... what a lovely day that turned out to be :p
we're all riding around this giant pit called the "bowl" when my 6 yearold brother brandon decides to go in the opposite direction of everyone else...
well knowing how fast these things are and the fact that my dad was riding a HUGE one...
no reaction time.
my brother came around an invisible corner and my dad was coming that way (they were only going 10mph) and BAM! there goes the whole half of my brothers ATV...and the bones in his leg.
brandon is now in the hospital, he's been there since 2 pm today. and i just found out that his leg was broken

woohoo hm I 've never seen it over here tho
So, I watched Twilight last night. I am sitting right on the line of whether I love it or hate it. I tried really really hard to NOT compare it to the book, but I think I slipped a few times. :o Overall, I think that if I had never read the book, I would have liked it, but not loved it. But that's more due to the (lack of?) special effects than the actual screenplay. I mean, come on...if they can make TRANSFORMERS look real, then why not vampires like the Cullens? I really hope the new production company does a better job with the effects in New Moon than Summit did with this.
But MAN!! The Bella/Edward chemistry thing was.....WOW!! I was really impressed with that. And Jacob...OMG Jacob....*drool*
:D
I thought Edward was dreadful so ugly like a poorly made up goth
:lol::lol: I thought it was pretty funny too Dix !!

I think I would probably be the same Woodsy - they could walk straight past me and I wouldnt know who they were - especially if she is not wearing her pink wig:eek:

Hi Grannies & etc. :)
I haven't been here for awhile, have no clue what's going on and yet I am here to shamelessly ask for help! I am trying to create wordart that has a border. I want it to look like the the wordart in Tina's Happy Faces kit:
http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10096
But I just can't get it right! Ugh! It would help if I had any idea how to use my program  Here's what I made:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff294/jennilynn10/family.jpg
See how the letters are distorted? I know I'm doing it the wrong way. I use PS CS2. Can anyone help? Pretty please??? Thanks - I love you guys! :love1:

oh my sweet lord. today has been absolutely just wow. Me and the family went out with my uncle and cousin on the ATV's (quad, 4wheeler)... what a lovely day that turned out to be :p
we're all riding around this giant pit called the "bowl" when my 6 yearold brother brandon decides to go in the opposite direction of everyone else...
well knowing how fast these things are and the fact that my dad was riding a HUGE one...
no reaction time.
my brother came around an invisible corner and my dad was coming that way (they were only going 10mph) and BAM! there goes the whole half of my brothers ATV...and the bones in his leg.
brandon is now in the hospital, he's been there since 2 pm today. and i just found out that his leg was broken
ugh. this weekend hasn't been my favorite....
news from the dad:
well apprarently the bone didnt move, it just split clean down the middle. and now the poor kid has to stay overnight in the hospital
he's a tough kid, he barely even cried...
wish i had his confidence!
if it was me I'd be hollerin' my head off.

I think I would probably be the same Woodsy - they could walk straight past me and I wouldnt know who they were - especially if she is not wearing her pink wig:eek:
No but you would have thought I would have recognized the PINK on their clothes. I thought it was just another brand name. It wasn't until I looked through the concert listings that I saw the name PINK. Not that I knew who they were still yet. I am just hopelessly out of it I guess.

About 7 years ago, my older daughter was home for the holidays and decided to extend her visit until the last possible day. A huge snowstorm hit, but a call to the airline assured her that HER flight was NOT canceled. My younger daughter and her husband offered to drive DD#1 to the airport in the storm. Of course, shortly after DD#1 checked in her flight WAS cancelled and she was stuck. She dragged her luggage to the locker area to stash most of it and also in the locker area were severel huge fellas dressed all alike and QUITE flashy. She was complaining about the flight and they introduced themselves...World Wide Federation Wrestlers, including the only name she could remember later,Bad-A$$ Billy something, in town for a wrestlemania that was also canceled. She knew two Christian wrestlers from Nashville from her church that were also buddys of these 6 guys, so they started conversing. All of the Airport Marriott hotel rooms were filled, but they called over and released one of their extra rooms for her. A couple of their merry band had not even made it to Detroit so they didn't need all of the rooms.
She called me so I could put the room on my Mastercard and told me the story so far. She mentioned that she was probably going to meet them later in the hotel bar for a drink (although she doesn't drink alcohol). Her new brother-in-law almost went back to the airport in the storm just to meet the wrestlers...he was a huge fan. My daughter couldn't have cared less. Didn't ask for any autographs, and couldn't remember but one name. I think they were fascinated that she was so unimpressed.

Got a call tonight from DD in Michigan. She had two stories;
#1..After lunch today, Miss-almost-3, Abby, had some cookies left over and was full. Mommy asked if she wanted to save them or throw them out. She repeated and asked if Abby wanted to save them "just in case". Abby answered, "Yes, Mommy, save them in a case".
#2..Last night, at the lakehouse, Abby spiked a high fever and had a night mare followed with some hallucinations. She kept screaming at my daughter and her sister to stop making scary faces and "save it for Halloween".
A 3 AM trip to Chelsea hospital brought down the fever and restored peace. BUt DD just had to tell me about the "scary faces" comment. She put Abby on the phone and I heard the whole story from her tiny voice.
WW, is Chelsea Hospital near you at all? My daughter just raves about that place. This is the third time they have had to go there in the middle of the night and every time it was a wonderful experience.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of quad bikes. Our recent weekend in the desert dunes some adult guys were riding them at high speeds on just a flat surface. A few guys flipped them at high speeds but got up and walked away. While I was brushing DD's hair we were watching the antics down below. The quad bikes were the 250cc one's and quite large. The next thing we see a tiny little girl on it and she turn the throttle to full ball and go speeding along. She must have turned the wheel a bit as it lifted on two wheels, but she corrected it and then not 5 seconds later she did it again, and this time it flipped right over on top of her! All we could hear was her screaming... it was very frightening. They lifted the bike off her and took her to the closest hospital. Luckily the camp were in was quite close to edge of the sand desert so the trip was only about 30 mins.
We later found out that the girl was only 12. Her father had argued with the guide in charge of the quads telling him "not to tell him what to do with his own child", said she could actually ride a quad, when she hadn't been on one before. She was lucky enough to have got away with a broken shoulder and a broken hip.
We have quite a few deaths here on quad bikes in the desert. So yeah, I'm not a huge fan!

oh my gosh thats horrible!!:cry: im so sorry that must have been terrifying :( I've had some pretty scary experiences on quads myself, including today. Me and my cousin were speeding down a dirt/sand road and he swerved out of the way of a pothole and i got forced onto a side of a ditch. Well i was speeding (about 25mph) on two wheels for a few seconds and all I could think about was getting that thing back on 4 wheels before it tipped. i was being tailed by my brothers and my cousin just incase and i slammed down on the side in the air and it swerved back onto the road. I swear I had God on my side right there. If not...it would be me in the hospital right now with some broken bones...or worse...
Me and my brothers learned a very valuable lesson today.

I havent seen Twilight or read the book. I do have the book, just waiting for a break to read it! No one seems to like the movie from what I hear. I think movies are always a bit disappointing after reading the book. We get our own idea of what people are like in our heads and Hollywood has different ideas. Also the books have more detail which they cant fit into a 100 minute movie so bound to be some let downs I guess.

Now you can get in on games made especially for ipod nano and the accelerometer...
They repsond to the way you move, so they’re immersive, addictive, and a blast. iPod nano comes with Maze, which lets you work your way through vast mazes by tilting and moving. You can find even more games on the iTunes Store....
Vallie, I got that from a review on the 4th generation ipod nano.
Ok, that's all I can get from looking, but, you could try downloading one of the free apps and see if it synchs across. Unless there is someone on here who knows.

Vallie - did you read the Just William series when you were a kid? I love the books, and I downloaded one of them from librivox.org
No I have never come across Just William! Do you think I may have outgrown him?
Vallie

I used to like the Famous Five series of books. Used to read heaps of those. Maybe I could get them, they should be available as they are older than me!

OK, if there were Famous Fives to be had, I would have them. I hven't seen any. I just reread all my William books. They are very funny. I love them.
Can you go to the iphones store, Vallie, and see if you can download a free game app, then synch your ipod, and see if it goes and if it plays?
I love good children's literature! I read it a lot. :)
Sorry I took so long to get back, I was catching different fish from a different boat.

....While iPod games have played a silent second fiddle to the iPhone Apps Store, there's now a respectable selection of three dozen different titles for the iPod nanos and classics, all of which remain compatible with the new 4G nano.
The nano ships with three games: the previously mentioned, accelerometer controlled Maze, along with the Klondike and Vortex games that Apple bundled with the previous 3G nano.

Beyond the 36C[/B]
What the world has long needed is a better bra, and researchers in Hong Kong reckon they've found the formula. Writing in the International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, a team from Hong Kong Polytechnic University say they have gone beyond traditional technology that simply measures under and across the bust.
Through 3D scanning of 456 Chinese women, they found more than 100 key measurements necessary to produce the perfect fit. "A woman's breast is a very complex 3D geometry," they write, and the existing system may be "inappropriate in the categorisation of breast sizes".
Until now, bra sizes have followed an alphabet system devised in America in 1935 - advertised originally as A cup (youthful); B (average); C (large); and D (heavy). The researchers' 100 measurements can be refined into eight factors - overall build, breast volume, inner, outer and lower breast shape, height, gradient and orientation. They say the size and volume of a B cup on a small ribcage, for example, is different from that on a large chest. It could correspond not only to a 34B, but sometimes to a 32C or a 36A.
They aim to increase the number of existing bra sizes by between eight and 16 size combinations. "This is the first time that a bra-sizing system protocol has been proposed based on 3D nude breast characteristics," they say.
Didn't we write that item tastefully? Pity our cartoonist Cathy Wilcox couldn't contain herself on the subject.

So I would be VERY careful about getting in an amplitudes contest with the reigning amplitudinous one who shall remain nameless. [See -- I'm afraid that even identifying her might get ME a black eye from those things.]

'Then, why do you even give a s**t?

oh my sweet lord. today has been absolutely just wow.

I think ATV's should be outlawed. I have seen several news programs dedicated to the ATV's and how dangerous they are. My nephew had a finger amputated when one flipped over.

:D
:lol::lol: Youngest DD bought it Saturday and we watched it with her that night... I tried reading the book a few months back, DD was so thrilled with all of the Twlight books, but I couldn't get through it. Not that it's badly written and I am sure I would have loved it 20 or 30 plus years ago. My reading time like most of the things I love to do have tiny windows of opp so I am very picky about what gets read.. As far as the movie... Well I could totally see why this has been such a huge hit with the young people and girls :D. I thought it was a very well done for the most part but kind of agree with you Dixie about the Special effects needing a bit of fine tuning.. All in all not a bad film though and enjoyed DD enthusiastic love of it...
I downloaded The mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie onto my ipod. It is quite well read I think. So far I am up to chapter 6 of 13. That is all I have on it so far.
This ipod audio book thing really, really intrigues me...

Love this tutorial.. I used it to make the Princess tea party sticker on a page for DGD...
Yes, they are extremely dangerous.. and few laws to protect young kids..
My good friend had his ankle broken and, they had to fuse it the break was so bad.. they were just goofing around...
But too young to be doing this....
We spend lots of time among ATV's and yes they can be dangerous.. So can crossing the street.. Lets face it if we outlawed all that was dangerous or was misused by a few idiots we would not have much to do. Using common sense with ATV's would prevent more than half of the accidents you hear about...We see lots of parents putting their kids on Quad's that are meant for much older kids.. ATV manufactures have warnings right on the quads about ages recommended but most parents don't pay them any mind. And we see lots of kids riding way over their skill and age levels.. Adults too! Here in Ca. You are also required to take an ATV safety course but it's not enforced and most parents don't take the time... Really is a shame as I think most kids and their parents could use the instruction...When my son was 12 he broke his arm while riding a dirt bike... My youngest DD broke her's playing on the monkey bars at school.....My oldest DGD broke her's from a fall off a bed... Where shall we draw the line!
Hugs all, Kim

Any one up for some fun????
Go cause a real Granny ruckus in Woodsy Sven's shop. He's been mooping around here claiming that the grannies don't love him. I reminded them that he did say, "woman are allowed in by invitation only." Honestly, he's not used to that one being followed at all.
He lives for abuse by my girlfriends so let him have it!!! Leave him a note (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37489) and let him know just how silly the thought of a Men's only place is in this world. It is a really nice shop. If we got rid of all of the yucky manly crap and all of the kid's outside toys, we really could make it into some place great!

yea me and my cousins play "cops and robbers" on them and we've injured quite a few trees trying to get out of the way of eachother...
and then we have the time that me and my dad were racing around in circles and i went over a dirt jump and almost flipped over teh front and into the mud...
my uncle tries to keep me and my cousin in 2nd gear but we always end the day in 3rd or 4th and covered in mud and dust and sweat.

Where do you get the free games from Leslie? My ipod is a nano 4th gen, will they play on that do you think?
Vallie - I went to the Q&A section in the iPod Apps store (where you find the games). It basically said: Games are compatable with iPod touch and iPhone. Some games are compatable with iPod Nano (3rd generation), iPod classic and iPod (5th generation). Sorry :(
I LOVE my iPod for listening to books. If you are going to listen to a lot of books, I highly recommend Audible.com. I know there is a club price up front, but after that the books are way less expensive than anywhere else I've found. Another thing I've noticed in general about audiobooks - they make them first for new releases. Then the start making them for more popular books and older books. I'm finding more & more audiobook selections everyday.

Just dropping by to say hi as I run mom to more tests this morning. At the speed I am running these days I would hope it would count as exercise but alas the treadmill is still waiting for me.
I will try and get back and chat later.
Heather - we miss you & hope things are getting better for your mom!:hug::hug:
I go today at 3:30 to get my new tooth again. Doug and I were trying to remember how many times I have gone there for this one stupid tooth, and we think it is 9 times ---- so maybe today will be lucky number 10!
Good Luck PQ. I hope this whole ordeal gets resolved today! (with a proper matching tooth!)
My hip is fairly miserable - I never got out of the bed yesterday. And unfortunately, both hips are getting wider by the day! When you combine zero activity with steroids the results are horrible!
Oh PQ - I'm sorry. I can definitely relate about the spreading hips problem & the gain weight with steroids.:hug::hug:
Thanks everyone for their congrats

Good Luck Sands! Great idea putting the proof across. (I admit that I myself scan my kids school photos :o )
Also, Congrats on SS mag. I remember when you told us all you were going to get published in it ~ I can't wait to pick up a copy & see your layout! It's like I know someone famous :D
WW - you are so wonderful for taking the man child in and caring for him. Even if you can't see it now, I'm sure you have been a very positive influence on him. God Bless you for all your efforts!

Re: the letters title
I think what I am really looking for is a way to make the border around the letters look like it's been cut with scissors. Like in Tina's Happy Faces kit. Okay, I freely admit that I am completely obsessing over this. I can't help it ~ that's just another facet of my complex personality ;). Anyway, if anyone knows how to do that or of any tutorials on it, please let me know. Thanks!

I had the best weekend with my 13 (and a half!) year old daughter Lindsay. I just have to share :)
Friday we worked on her power point presentation for school. It was really cool b/c she was showing me how to do things in power point while I was showing her how to do things in PS. She even taught me a few keyboard shortcuts in PS that I hadn't been using!
Then Saturday we had a "sleep over." We didn't really sleep in the same room, but we hung out together - just the 2 of us. Sometimes it's had for her to be the oldest and always have to help with the little kids. I try to give her some special attention when I can. We watched TV & 2 movies in her room and stayed up WAY past my bedtime. It was a blast!

Okay - I have a Quiz for you all. DD and I watched a TV show about Hollywood's 50 most handsome hunks of all time. We tuned in on about number 26, and I instantly guessed who number 1 would be. What do you all guess???
The first one to guess correctly wins . . . . well, nothing. But you get to be the first one that is correct! :D

I'd have to agree with Paul Newman.
We have a winner!!! I have always thought Paul Newman was the hottest actor ever! Plus, he was so cool. And such a humanitarian.
Robert Redford was in the top 5. I can't remember it all correctly. I know George Clooney was in there. Can't remember the other top 5. Some others mentioned were Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Dennis Quaid, Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Marlon Brando, Rob Lowe, Mel Gibson, Will Smith, James Dean, Clint Eastwood, Hugh Jackman, Orlando Bloom, Richard Gere, Clive Owen, Shawn Connery, Collin Farrall, Pierce Brosnan. Those are the ones I can recall (pls. don't grade on spelling ;) )
