Hello all
I am a week behind and I don't have the energy to try to catch up, so will just send hugs, Grats, and love to all that I have missed :love3:
It's been a long emotional week, but things are slowly calming down and getting back on track.
For those that didn't know, my MIL Sue past away last Tuesday from cancer.
I love her dearly and she was my BFF. She was a stuburn old lady and she knew how to push my buttons and we constantly bickered of silly things, but when it came to seriouse stuff we always had each others back. She chose to die at home, and she freely admitted to doing it because she knew it was going to freak me out. But she told me in secret that she knew I would make sure she was taken care of when she could no longer speak for herself. She went fast and fairly peacfully, and all her love ones were with her, including her two long time loves, smokey and lil bit, her cats. Hospice was a god send, and made the boys much more relaxed and prepared. There was no panic or frustration, they had everything covered and taken care of, I owe them so much.
Her brother was able to come out and has spent the last few days with us, and has made life a lot more pleasent and busy.
I was good and even proud of myself for how together I was, untill...
Saturday morning at 4 am I started crying, not small tears, this was bone rattling, from the toes sobbing. After about two hours and a funny pill I was able to stop, but if I spoke, it would start again, so I hid in my room all day and most of the night till it passed. By Sunday, it was done and things have been ok.
So that is the sum of my week, I hope to get back in the swing of things very very soon!
Sue was always writting little notes to herself and I found a lot of them while going through papers. This little thing seems to have stuck with me...
Remember me with smiles and laughter,
for that is how I will remember you all.
But if all you can do is remember me with tears,
then don't remember me at all
talk to you soon  :love1: :love3:
Awwww Wuvie :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::pray::pray::pray::h ug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
Such a hard week for you, I'm glad you and her family were there for her, sounds like a wonderful woman to have know.:hug::hug:

Okay, lindy, can't believe I'm saying this but BREATHE. I know how good you feel -- and I'm thrilled for you -- but don't be skipping sleep or meals. We want you to keep feeling wonderful and be here to visit us regularly again. I know if I'm not careful, I tend to turn into a whirling toy top on steroids. :D
LOL, I LOVE toy tops!!! I'm trying very hard to get proper sleep and food... That's why I'm missing talking to everyone, ready for bed by 11:30 or 12:00, cept for monday nights after shooting pool, I need wind down time. I'm trying to get things done while this energy lasts, never know when the med will stop working so nicely, one of the mysteries of my meds and malfunctions, LOL. Thank you for your concern, I'll post a note on the kitchen wall that Omio, Crys and the Grannies are keeping an eye out for not overdoing :D:D

Happy Birthday Giancol... I forgot how to spell his name, but you all know who I mean :D
Good Heavens Kay, that's a gang of painting!! Can't wait to see the pics...
Fran... just smack Mr Andrew up side his head, that should take care of it... :D:D:D Just kidding, but he should know we'd miss his handsome mugg something awful.

The Night of April 1st
Defense Attorney: Will you please state your age?
Little Old Lady: I am 71 years old.
Defense Attorney: Will you tell us, in your own words, what happened the night of April 1st?
Little Old Lady: There I was, sitting there in my swing on my front porch on a warm spring evening, when a handsome young man comes creeping up on the porch and sat down beside me.
Defense Attorney: Did you know him?
Little Old Lady: No, but he sure was friendly.
Defense Attorney: What happened after he sat down?
Little Old Lady: He started to rub my thigh.
Defense Attorney: Did you stop him?
Little Old Lady: No, I didn't stop him.
Defense Attorney: Why not?
Little Old Lady: It felt good. Nobody had done that since my Albert died some 30 years ago.
Defense Attorney: What happened next?
Little Old Lady: He began to rub my breasts.
Defense Attorney: Did you stop him then?
Little Old Lady: No, I did not stop him.
Defense Attorney: Why not?
Little Old Lady: His rubbing made me feel all alive and excited. I haven't felt that good in years!
Defense Attorney: What happened next?
Little Old Lady: Well, by then, I was feeling so 'spicy' that I just lay down and told him 'Take me, young man. Take me now!'
Defense Attorney: Did he take you?
Little Old Lady: Hell, no! He just yelled, 'April Fool!' and ran off. And that's when I shot him,............. the little b*st*rd!!

Some of these are a few pages back, but haven't had much time to be around this week.
I am a compulsive ironer and iron almost everything I wash!!
When I get depressed (which is rarely, thank goodness), I iron. I enjoy burning the crap out of wrinkles when my life is spiraling down the tubes!
I finally got my Bryan Peterson Understanding Exposure book. I am reading and getting more and more confused.
Oh, Rosie, I can so identify. The more I read, the confuseder I get.
Practice makes perfect...can't just read the book on this one. Once it clicks, it's an awesome "Ahaaaaa" moment. Good luck!
Congrats Inky On LOTD!!!!

UNLIKE Sands, I try to keep my fingers in this thread but it slips away from me so quickly! LOL!
I'm quite excited. I'm getting to spend an entire day with my DH all by myself tomorrow. I've not had his undivided attention for a very long time, and tomorrow we are going to Dubai together, to go and look at some camera's and / or lenses for me! Soooo excited.
Enjoy the shopping and we want pictures soon!!!

Hi everyone! Music has been dominating my life lately and not leaving me much time for anything else.
I am keeping up on my Project 365. I just went and took photos of my new pedometer that keeps track of activity for a week and how much of the activity is aerobic. Got in over 8600 steps today and 64 minutes of it was aerobic. Not sure what a weekly report looks like since I've only used the pedometer for three days. :-)
Back to the recording studio tomorrow.
My pumpkin brownies were a big hit. Nobody knew they were made with a can of pumpkin until I told them. :-)

Hello loves! Just a quick pop-in! We're having a blast with Summer here. My house is non-stop chaos from about the time Chris gets out of school until he goes home at 9:00! He's a great kid, though, and they're never truly "alone" together....she DOES have 3 other siblings hanging about. But it's fun to tease them...a couple of examples:
If I see them smooching, I holler: EEEWWWW!!!! That's worse than watching my PARENTS KISS!!!
If they're cuddled up, I walk in demanding: HANDS CHECK!!! -- to which they both reply by throwing their hands in the air!
Keeping them on their toes!! They're so darned cute though! :love2:
Right now she's at Chris' sister's softball game with him and his family. It goes until 10:00 tonight, but I'm ok with that since Chris' dad is with them and driving them straight home. It's a little too late for my younger 3, so they're kinda mad at me, but oh well. They've inherited the "monster-in-the-morning" syndrome from me. So school night = bed by 8:30!! I'll make it up to them tomorrow and take them to the lakefront after an early supper, then we'll hit Sonic for an ice cream treat before we go back home. That should work, right?
Gotta run...time to hose them all down and toss them in bed!! I'll be back....
:love1: U ALLLLLL!!!!!!

My DH has never been able to figure out why I can't "pace" myself by working on projects over a series of days. This is exactly the reason. If there is a deadline on the project, especially, I have to keep going while the ole synapses are napsing.
:) I just went and woke him up - I have a chocolate mud cake, two $100 petrol vouchers and the complete boxed set of the DVDs of one of his favorite shows - Two and a Half Men, on the kitchen counter for him. :)
My DH absolutely loves that show. The sister of Jon Cryer (Alan) lives out here so people see him out a breakfast or whatever. Most people in SoCal try to give famous people some privacy in public but one guy I know just couldn't resist stopping by Jon Cryer's table to let him know how much his work is enjoyed. Apparently, he is an extremely friendly and gracious gentleman. (I would truly HATE to be famous!!!!)
Great gifts, Leslie -- bet he will love the gasoline vouchers especially.

Makes you stop and think:
To realize
The value of a sister/brother
Ask someone
Who doesn't have one.
To realize
The value of ten years:
Ask a newly
Divorced couple.
To realize
The value of four years:
Ask a graduate.
To realize
The value of one year:
Ask a student who
Has failed a final exam.
To realize
The value of nine months:
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.
To realize
The value of one month:
Ask a mother
Who has given birth to
A premature baby.
To realize
The value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize
The value of one minute:
Ask a person
Who has missed the train, bus or plane.
To realize
The value of one-second:
Ask a person
Who has survived an accident.
Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when
You can share it with someone special.
To realize the value of a friend or family member:
LOSE ONE.
The origin of this letter is unknown,
But it brings good luck to everyone who passes it on.
Remember... Hold on tight to the ones you love!
Do not keep this letter. Send it to friends & family.
Peace, love and prosperity to all!

Some are still in their 1920's undies... which in today's world.. I guess would be acceptable clothing for the outside world...
But, I have all colors, all sizes, all shapes.. you name.. - so, If you want to borrow, a something from the "Debi flattie coutre collection", just let me know...

Took mom to the old Lanyon homestead. Took LOADS of pictures, hope one or two come out. There was even a cat!
I am about to go out again (me who never leaves the house, but I have mom here). And Giancarlo was given a birthday party at work, with food, and a car cake and presents by the look of it! I shall scrap the pics that he has just sent, when I get back.

in about an hour the movers are going to show up and finish packing everything in.
most of it is gone already.
right now my home looks like a tornado went through it and left only little chunks of paper and dirt... and white boxes galore.
I will share pictures once they are all gone and we get settled a bit.
we"ll be here (with the furniture that gets tossed) until next Tuesday. then we"ll be off to the hotel.
so far the cat"s been a trooper.
but then, there are still some of her things left and she is still in her house....

Hello all
I am a week behind and I don't have the energy to try to catch up, so will just send hugs, Grats, and love to all that I have missed :love3:

Hi everyone! Music has been dominating my life lately and not leaving me much time for anything else.
I am keeping up on my Project 365. I just went and took photos of my new pedometer that keeps track of activity for a week and how much of the activity is aerobic. Got in over 8600 steps today and 64 minutes of it was aerobic. Not sure what a weekly report looks like since I've only used the pedometer for three days. :-)
Back to the recording studio tomorrow.
My pumpkin brownies were a big hit. Nobody knew they were made with a can of pumpkin until I told them. :-)

Oh, Rosie, I can so identify. The more I read, the confuseder I get. I think it's because my brain is on overload with Mother issues.
Speaking of which, thank you for all the hugs on my bad day layout. When I can really remember that my mother's lack of understanding and appreciation of the number of hours and the emotional drain it's taking to do the necessary tasks of keeping her life straight is about her and not me, I'm ok. But her emailed response to my letting her know that I'd investigated and cleared up a medical charge she thought she'd have to pay was "I'm glad I complained" --no thanks, no acknowlegement, no nothing--really had me down. And it won't get any better.
However! I'm glad I have friends who pat me on the back and lift me up when I'm down! Thank you!
your welcome:hug::hug::hug: mums!!! we can't life with them and we can't live with out them....speaking of mums, my mum went to rehab today....another step closer to home:yes:

wow you ladies have been so busy while i was out walking the streets of Perth with Grandson Lachlan & his cousin. The museum was a bit of a disappointment as one building has been closed down and there is only a small collection on display. We spent a lot of time watching street buskers entertaining the crowds. I have photos which I will scrap over the next couple of days. Put one up in the PAD gallery.I can barely walk now.
Looking forward to seeing your book Leslie at the crop in Brisbane.
Dags - glad to hear Mum is doing better.
Carolyn - really must get together to visit that rose place.
Happy 3 yr birthday to the Granny thread.

I'm trying to finish up the layouts that are due for challenges...and, I'm still in the midst of the Ireland album for DGS, Josh. So much to do...so little time!

Happy birthday, Giancarlo,
So does mine! Of course, we never watch the *first run* shows, but on Fox each night there are two re-run episodes back to back. These he watches as often as possible!

It's always so nice to hear of *famous people* who maintain their likability and graciousness. :D :D :D

:love1: U ALLLLLL!!!!!!
hahaha except for that one time when you shouted hands check..and his hand was trapped under my arm!
and heyy come on! i have to watch u and hubby kiss!!!! haha :)
haha love you mommy:hug::hug::hug::love1::love1::love3::love3::l ove2::love2:

So, I am over 50 pages behind, but I wanted to stop by and say hello.
First, thank you to Chris (Caraffle) for the wonderful PM. It was so nice to know that I was being thought of!
In any case, February just flew by me, and since about mid-march we have been dealing with two family crises - one on each side of the family. First, my brother-in-law (30, studying for his Ph.D. in Chemistry), got dumped by his girlfriend and went into something of a tailspin, managing to alienate everyone, including his parents and DH. Things are starting to work out, but that has been horrifically stressful on all of us.
A few days after that started, my dear father was diagnosed with extremely early stage prostate cancer. They have determined that it hasn't spread at all, but he is facing surgery, and my parents had to cancel their May vacation, which I know was hard on both of them. Luckily, my father is in incredibly good health, and completed the Chicago Marathon in October, and actually completed a marathon the week after his diagnosis as well.
Add to that that my laptop has mysteriously run out of space (it has nothing to do with all the scrapbooking supplies and new pictures I have been taking with my camera  ) and scrapping has not been on the top of my priority list. We have also decided to finally take our honeymoon, so we will be spending our second anniversary in Walt Disney World! This of course requires a lot of time to plan as well, but knowing that I am going to get TONS of pictures from that, and that I bought an external hard drive (the USB kind, from Western Digital), makes me so excited to get back into scrapping.
Now, if you've made it through that novel...anyone care to give me the ten-second update on how all you lovely, wonderful ladies are doing?
All my best to everyone!

So I snapped back that AT LEAST we were doing SOMETHING, not just sitting and watching television for hours on end.
We may be speaking again an a while.

Aw, sorry life has been getting in your way, sweetie. Lucky for your dad that his cancer is in the early stages, very curable, and he's in such fantastic shape. Sounds like all systems are go for a full recovery! Know they're disappointed about vacation but it will be even sweeter when they go after he is healthy.
Hope you BIL is feeling better. Amazing how we can lash out like children when we're hurt.

Happy Birthday to the Granny Thread. Who would have thought?
Just popping in quickly. I am not finding the sandwich generation all that much fun. Yesterday my mil was in a car accident. Thankfully she was not hurt. Then I toddled off to the lake to babysit my grandpuppies while my daughter and her dh went on a small trip. They so need to get a wireless connection. Today I am off to 2 appointments for my mom. Sheesh when am I supposed to scrap....yeah I know the wee wee hours of the morning.
Here is a DBL for today.

 Hi Grannies, Happy Birthday to you all, and hugs to all those that need it, be it for successes, failures, heart ache, or just because .
I had a wonderful day with DH. One I think I can rate as one of them in the top 10 I've ever spent with him. It was so wonderful just to enjoy each others company and laugh and joke between ourselves, without any interruptions from third parties, be those friends or children. I think I fell back in love again today! We shopped together, had lunch together, and shopped again. We walked hand in hand (not really acceptable here in a Muslim world), talked about arbitrary things, talked about serious things, and it was just so good to feel so relaxed in each others company again. It was an awesome day!
We both spent a bit of money :).... I'm now the proud owner of not only a Canon 50D, but also a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO Macro lens, and a Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 Wide Angle lens, along with a polarizer filter for my 18-200mm lens and the 70-300mm lens.
DH also got a few toys, one of them being a Bose Noise reducing set of earphones for his many travels abroad.
Wow.... I feel good :)

so glad we have the laptop, even though it is old and slooooooooow
Gosh, not long to go now. And you have all the unpacking to look forward to next!
and am I ever thankful the movers will take care of at least part of the unpacking :)
Vallie- your cakes look wonderful.
Mara- Good Luck with the move.
thanks! and all those cakes so had me drooling!
the movers are all gone, o is most of our stuff.
we kept an old bed and the electronics/appliance that we can"t take with us (voltage issues) plus the laptop and my xbox.

still weird, being in our empty home, constantly being reminded of all the little things we will never do again here...

wow you ladies have been so busy while i was out walking the streets of Perth with Grandson Lachlan & his cousin.

I haven't been online as much as normal. DH made a big decision to sell the boat. It was a decision he didn't want to make.:cry: He decided it was time, recently turned 73 and sure don't want him falling overboard.:no: His balance is not the best and with diabetes has no feeling in his feet. It is not the best time to sell but we are not in any hurry.
The boat is moored about 2 hours from us and it needed to be cleaned and cleaned out. What a job! It was just like moving out of a house. Each little drawer, cupboard was full of stuff gathered over the 13 years he has owned the boat. Then finding a place for all the fishing, crabbing gear, pots and pans etc took a lot of time. Glad it is done.:tup:
Here is a 2 page layout I did some time ago showing fun time on the boat.

Sounds like a dream, Sands! And special congrats on the new acquisitions!!;)

I had only heard of beetroot chocolate cakes a couple of days ago - who has an Aussie recipe for this? My Mum used to make me pumpkin fruitcakes when I was at boarding school.
Here you go Joan ! I make mine in one of those cake tins with a hole in the middle (like a jelly mould) then fill it up with Whispers sweets after the cake is iced ! I also don't do this icing (although this is yum too !)..I make a glaze choclate icing and pour it over the top ! It is so yummy and moist and lasts for days !!
Cara’s Chocolate Beetroot Cake
You need :
4 Eggs
1 ½ cups vegetable oil
2 cups caster sugar
2 tsp. vanilla essence
2 ½ cups flour
½ cup cocoa 2tsp Bicarb
2 tsp. salt
1x 825g can beetroot , drained and blended
Chocolate icing:
125g cream cheese
30g melted chocolate
1 ½ cups icing sugar, sifted
Method:
Beat eggs in a large bowl.
Gradually blend in oil. Mix in sugar and vanilla.
Sift flour , cocoa , salt and bicarb together. Fold lightly into egg mixture with beetroot.
Pour mixture into 2 greased 23cm. tins . Bake @ 180 degrees C. for about an hour or until skewer comes out clean..
Allow to cool in tins for 15 min. then turn onto wire rack to cool completely.
To prepare icing : Beat cream cheese until creamy. Blend in chocolate. Fold in icing sugar. Spread over cooled cake.

in a white box, in a brown wooden crate, on a blue truck, heading towards a port to be shipped :(
so glad we have the laptop, even though it is old and slooooooooow
and am I ever thankful the movers will take care of at least part of the unpacking :)
thanks! and all those cakes so had me drooling!
the movers are all gone, so is most of our stuff.
we kept an old bed and the electronics/appliance that we can"t take with us (voltage issues) plus the laptop and my xbox.
so at least I won't die of boredom :)
still weird, being in our empty home, constantly being reminded of all the little things we will never do again here...
Oh my - you have your hands full! Hope you don't get too stressed. Good luck with the move. :)

DBF:
Someone writing to Tech Support....
Installing A Husband
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a
distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the
flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under
Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such
as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable
programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes
the
system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no
avail. What can I do?
Signed, Desperate
-------------------------------------
Dear Desperate:
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.
Please enter the command: 'I Thought You Loved Me.exe', try to download
Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that
application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run
the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of
the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence
2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that
will
download the Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 It runs a virus in the
background that will eventually seize control of all your system
resources.
Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are
unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited
memory
and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying
additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food
3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck, Tech Support

There is a fundraiser happening here in Australia with the MDA getting part of the proceeds of the money raised - it is called Australia's Biggest Book group and it will be the biggest online book group - they will all get together on June 10 on line to discuss the selected book Versace Sisters by Cate Kendall. There are also prizes up for grabs, so if anyone is interested here is the link - I think you can purchase the book if living overseas.

Oh, this must be tough. Hard to give up something that holds such wonderful memories.
This sounds like a marvelous day, Sands -- good for you both. Remember that the secret to a good marriage isn't staying in love for all those years -- it's falling in love with the same guy over and over. :love3:

Mars, can I join?!?!?! I am NEW.......no really, Thanks for inviting Schooch, maybe she and the other kids can join in this summer. With all of the homework, she would never make a deadline.
Hey Gramma Crys, thanks for the hugs, I'm probably am overdoing it, but it feels so good to feel half way normal, LOL. I'll probably crash and sleep for 2 days when it catches up with me...
I won shooting pool again tonight!!! :yahoo::yippee::party: I'm a 2 handicap and I beat a 5 !!! He was having such a terrible night, that I apologized 3 times for beating him 17 to 3 :eek: Hey, maybe that new med is gonna get me back in the game like I used to be??? The miracle pill I've been searching for ???
WOW, that sounds like things are going great.
:rofl: Andrew announced tonight that he does not want anymore of his photos on the internet.:rofl: Poor demented little boy. He does not realize that he does not get to cast a vote in the matter.
I have to go now so I can finish my latest Andrew layout.
How deluded can one boy be?!?!?!?!?!
I did that for a couple of years for a living. I would take a patient's chart and bill and compare the 2 to see if the documentation in the chart supported the billing. If it didn't, I changed the bill. If the insurance company refused to pay, I would meet with them and "argue the case" as to why they should pay. It was actually a very interesting job.
At one point the insurance companies were refusing to pay when patients, who were deemed too critical to wait on an ambulance, were airlifted to the hospital. They said that they thought the patients could have waited for ground transportation. I think that insurance companies frequently forget that people die.
When Acacia was born, they wanted to immediatly transfer to The StChristophers Childrens Hospital. Its about a half hour away and the insurance co wanted her to go in an ambulance, about 6 hours after a big snow storm. The doctors wanted her to go on the medivac and it took a few hours to get it cleared.
SOME PEARLS OF WISDOM FROM DAVE BARRY
* You should never say anything to a woman
that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless
you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.
* A person who is nice to you but rude to a waiter is not
a nice person (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)
* Your friends love you anyway.
* Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a
lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the
Titanic.
* Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes, and
it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into some thing acceptable to have dinner with.
THIS IS GREAT! :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Welcome back. Thanks to you, my daughter has started posting here too. I told her you and Bia have recently posted LO's here and she decided to join in. BTW, she loves your style!!!!
Ok, I'm finally out of font hell...
The fonts that were bad were all freebie fonts but were found several places on my machine....
but they were - just in case you move from a windows machine to a mac:
Brody
FontLoRoy
Polo
Fancy Pants
Liberty Hollow....
I'm sure if I go back to the various freebie sites - they probably have a MAC font equivalent... but to tell you the truth, I really never use these fonts...
So, I have some duplicated now... but, I don't have any BAD fonts... and all is well In font land.
Thanks for posting the list. I went straight to look at mine and thankfully I dont have any of them.
Sheesh..I am aching in places I did'nt even know I had !! 435, wow, that was so much work.
Hello all
I am a week behind and I don't have the energy to try to catch up, so will just send hugs, Grats, and love to all that I have missed :love3:
HUGs to you my dear!!! So sorry for your loss.:hug:
I would want to go off with Doug by myself too if the point of the trip was to buy me gifts.
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
If you send me an iron for my birthday I am going to send you pregnant baby hamsters for your birthday. They make excellent pets. (If you like stink odors and escape artists for pets).
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
I did????
Yes, you won now go get your prize.
My flattie is busy shopping on line for her accessories for the Aussie crop. She went wild in the Vera Bradley store and now she is looking at makeup. She's out of control.
My sister has bought so many of them on ebay and if she gets them and then decideds they are too small or she just doesn't like them she gives them to my girls. On Easter, they each got a new one and Acacia got a matching one too.
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Oh! Oh! I forgot to tell you! You see, you are the only people who are interested - I published a new book this morning! I just made it 80 pages and paid extra for fast postage, in hopes that it will get here in time for the crop. :)

THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE WONDERFUL LADIES OF THE GT! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
in about an hour the movers are going to show up and finish packing everything in.
most of it is gone already.
right now my home looks like a tornado went through it and left only little chunks of paper and dirt... and white boxes galore.
I will share pictures once they are all gone and we get settled a bit.
we"ll be here (with the furniture that gets tossed) until next Tuesday. then we"ll be off to the hotel.
so far the cat"s been a trooper.
but then, there are still some of her things left and she is still in her house....
Won't be long now! My Family are military and every move was a transition that seemed tough but think of the great adventure you and DH are about to have together.

How fitting is that on this auspicious occasion of the Granny thread birthday.:applause::applause::applause::applause:
You are so welcome my dear. I missed your great stories. .... and speaking of which, I am sorry to hear that things have bee tough. We do get stronger with ever one we go through and I am sure with prayer and treatment you Dad will be just fine too. I hope DH and BIL straighten things out soon as it puts pressure on you and he.
 Hi Grannies, Happy Birthday to you all, and hugs to all those that need it, be it for successes, failures, heart ache, or just because .
I had a wonderful day with DH. One I think I can rate as one of them in the top 10 I've ever spent with him. I think I fell back in love again today! We shopped together, had lunch together, and shopped again. Funny story, my friend got into a car accident and had to have her nose fixed because of the airbag...today is her new nose's first birthday  She is very happy with her new nose though - she was having problems with getting sick a lot because of it anyway, so it was a blessing in disguise.
Also, love that Summer Cottage kit...the colors are beautiful!

I just had to steal this from Dixie. Unfortunately, I got in an argument over this. I told the OD that the Granny Thread was 3 years old and he came back with "Bunch of old ladies with nothing to do but bang on a keyboard". So I snapped back that AT LEAST we were doing SOMETHING, not just sitting and watching television for hours on end.
We may be speaking again an a while.
 that reminds me of all those jokes that end with 'and then the fight started..."
My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping channels. She asked, 'What's on TV?'
I said, 'Dust.'
And then the fight started...

What is caster sugar? And is a can of beetroot the same as a can of beets?
Yep, beetroot is a can of beets and caster sugar is just extra refined, so the granuals are TEENY TINY. It's powdery. Used in cakes.

You do realize that if someone had given all those fonts a time out when they were young, they probably wouldn't have grown up to be such bad fonts.

Vallie:
I did 3 books for mom, two for a sister and one for another sister, all 40 pages, soft cover. They all have pics relating to them in the books.
I did one big 11 x 13 for a colleague for her kid's 21st and she gave me a 160GB USB EHD for it. :) It was a birth to age 21 book.
I did an 80 page one for Alessandro for Christmas, of our trip in Sept/Oct 07 that we took together.
All of mine are themeless. I just make them when I have enough pages. I have two of the big ones for me, just LOs in any order, then I have about 4 that are 8 x 10, again, just my LOs.
For me, I don't do themes, I just collect LOs in a folder, then make a book of them. It takes me an hour to put them together into a blurb book, then I upload it and pay for it.
The LOs need to be full size and saved at high quality. I am on PSE6 and I scrap at 2400 which is 12" square, and save at quality 12.
Ok, I realised yesterday that it was 15 days away... and it always takes 2 1/2 weeks to get a book, so I paid about $5 extra, Australian, to get the book by express postage. It comes from Switzerland I think.
I think I paid US$60 for book with express postage and it's an 80 page, 8 x 10 inch book. The pics will be 7.25" square.

Ok, off to use the new sale 20% off coupon and scrap some pics of Giancarlo. I want two of Erica's new bps and Robyns new grunge kit. Grunge - is my very favorite word. Grunge and overlay.... *sigh*. And if it's grunge IN an overlay - well, I just about can't breathe! I use the one of Erica's and one of Nicole's, over and over and over and over..........................

Would love to take credit, sands, but it isn't original. I heard it from an elderly couple many, many years ago -- maybe when I was a newlywed or a young mom? Think they were celebrating a 60th anniversary and I can't remember the exact words they said. But the gist was that it is unrealistic for a couple to think they can stay in love for a lifetime -- the real secret to a long marriage is falling in love with each other many times over. DH and I have been married nearly 45 years so I think I got good advice. :love3: [Of course there are always those times in between to deal with.]

Had over 10,800 steps yesterday and 7006 of them were aerobic steps. I like my new pedometer on days like this. I didn't like it on Sunday after I sat around and played music all day and had 0 aerobic steps.

I'm whining again. Seems like that's all I do when I pop in these days. I'll try to get better!
I fell yesterday--walking to my car, minding my own business. There was this uneven patch in the pavement that grabbed my shoe, twisted me all about, causing me to scrape my knee and do damage to not just the left foot, but the right foot as well.
On the bright side, it was Wednesday acupuncture day, and the wonderful folks at Remedy treated me really well. Chinese Trauma 1, arnica, needles in all the right places--and instructions to elevate and stay off my feet today. Ice packs, and short heat bursts.
Amazingly, this morning the right foot is much, much better. I think it's because that's the foot we concentrated on in the session, as it was the foot that was throbbing the most. (You should have seen me as I hobbled out to the car when my dd picked me up!) I am an acupuncture convert!
And so, I'll be calling in to work, staying in bed (gotta get the lappie moved and set up!) and with the exception of having to take Mother to her PT eval, I will be taking care of ME!
Now! On to less whining...
