Oh Wise Women - how does one save one's fonts?

Ok, I think you have to save them OUT of, not in, the fonts folder in the control panel. SO, in a folder that you then copy onto an EHD.

*sigh*

Milo and my book now. - And I redid the mask pic.

How does one save one's fonts?

Leslie, I have a separate folder for my fonts. I copied all of them into the folder, and any new one's I save directly into that folder. I don't go deleting or moving fonts that I don't know if I put them there. Then when I do my backup, my fonts folder is backed up as well. And then to install and uninstall I use THE FONT THING.

Will go into my Scrapbooking Folder and open a new folder (next to the new Masks folder) called Fonts. :)

I'm quite interested to see who can view my book and who can't. I ordered a 30 pager from Artscow, and I know that my DH and Baflien could view it, but yet, Mars and Crys couldn't.

Can you tell me if you can see it please ? Trying to work out the trend here.

I am going to have a bionic hip put in on the 24th of June! Cant wait! Maybe I can talk them into liposuction at the same time then it wouldn't count as surgery!?! This will be my third surgery since Oct.

But before then I'm going on a cruise to Alaska!!

Only 7 more days of school!!!!!!!

The Alaskan cruise is our dream vacation. Good luck on the hip - keep a diary and let me know how it goes...................

Ladies - SAVE! For goodness sake - SAVE! Please!

Do you remember how I reminded you to save on the weekend, and I backed up onto my 3 EHDs?

Well, that was all my documents, photos, LOs, my class reports... about 60GB.

Ok, this morning, my laptop crashed and died again. It did this 6 months ago. I remembered the process the tech led me through then, and did an F10 start and a re whatever - reinstall? And I now am up and working again, at original factory settings. It took me 5 hours but I did it.

I have all my good gear right here to put back on, I have only lost one LO - the latest mask one of Certaldo, Italy. So I will remake that one so I can have it in my new book.

Please save, my lovely friends, please back up like I did on the weekend, so you don't lose all your wonderful work. Thank God I saved on the weekend.

3 external hard drives and carbonite. All this backing up makes me feel like I am a little paranoid..............

I have NO idea where I-127 meets I-75 but not in Michigan, for sure.

I had to look this one up, but 127 does come into MI between Hillsdale and Adrian. I does end in to 75 just north of Higgins Lake. It goes through Lansing.

Wow--- not even 9 AM and I have learned my something new for the day. I guess the rest of the day is clear now.

BUT I love :love1:you the most!

*sniff sniff* :love2: :love2: :love2:

I have NO idea where I-127 meets I-75 but not in Michigan, for sure.

We just finished our All-City Garage Sale weekend here. DD in NJ (after 6 years in TN) never heard of All-City sale weekend and asked if it was rather like Halloween Trick or Treating. Well, I guess it is. We had a LOT of fun on our block and I met new neighbors. The wife AND her mother are scrapbookers. The mother thinks she was in a class I taught at the local Scrapbook Store.

So look into the trip. We can have a blast! WW, LisasMom, and Lizzanne can pop over for a visit while you are here. Sleeping might have to be in Roman's motorhome. I bet my Gabby and Abby will INSIST on staying here, too.

We'll bring the tents if we have to!! ;)

And it's not I-127, it's US 127...it branches off of I-75 just south of Grayling, MI...just before you get to Higgins Lake...and it continues south until it gets lost in Chattanooga, TN...where it becomes US 27, which comes all the way down into Florida. But all along US 127 is an annual 'yard sale' that lasts for about 2 weeks. I know the stretch we lived on between Crossville, TN and Jamestown, TN was pretty well clogged up when we were there!!

I could see it and I'm in LOVE!! :D

Thanks Inks and it was your suggestion that I put a border on the pages ;)

It is better with the border - Dags and I both had some things near the edge trimmed off which makes the layout look bad. How did you get the borders the same pattern as your layouts though? did you create a new layout with the border background?

Took the question right out of my mouth!!

OK you guys - I know I griped last time as I lost all my good fonts.

WELL I BLASTED WELL LOST THEM AGAIN, DIDN'T I?

*sigh*

I have all the Club Digital ones there to reinstall, but I had a half dozen others...

OK, how does one save their fonts for the next time this happens?

I'm right now redoing that lost mask Italy pic that I made last night - and I used DSP Lauren in it, now I have to reinstall that.

any fonts I dl from the internet, go into my 'Digital Scrapbooking>Internet Fonts' folder...DSP fonts stay their original folders within my 'Digital Scrapbooking>DSP' folder -- I just copy the font files to my Windows>Fonts folder. Vista makes it pretty easy to copy them over.

More packing and laundry on the menu today. With more rain. Tucker is so upset right now. Today is his class field trip to the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne and it's supposed to be raining all day. The Kindergarten teachers won't let the kids bring money for a souvenier, or an umbrella, or cameras. He doesn't own a rain coat, as he really hasn't needed one here. He doesn't play in rain, and I usually pick them up from school, or they have an umbrella. He has a cotton zip-up hoodie but that won't keep him dry for long. I feel like a horrible Mama, we were just at Wal Mart last night and I didn't even think about picking something up for him. And he really wanted to take the camera so he could take pictures for me, too. :( Part of me kinda hopes they cancel the trip....is that a bad thing? They probably won't reschedule it....

It's gonna be one of those days....

I better go make Morgan breakfast. I'll try to bbl.

Oh don't even get WoodsySven AKA- Beta Theta Pi, District Chief of the year, started on this one. He's out to change the image of the "Greek Organizations" all on his own. But I still love calling him "my frat boy."

oh, on my book I forgot to mention that I added a drop shadow onto the jpg as well to make it look like it was above the page. So the shadow is visible on all 4 sides of the jpg :D

I endorse what you say Leslie - A month ago I had a computer meltdown but had everything backed up on my EHD and thought I was safe. The week before the Brisbane crop I had an EHD failure but had backed up most of my files but not my bear designs.
I now have a new 1TG hardrive plus my little passport hard drives - that are backed up weekly.

I just got this email from BSJ with the heading of "I forgot to tell you"

So last night is the cross over pack meeting for cub scouts and both boys are in both bathrooms with diarrhea and we’re trying to get out the door. Kent had gas that would make a trucker blush and had to let it out every minute or so – and that included at the scout meeting (luckily it’s quite loud there). Both of them kept going back to the bathroom and Kent finally figured out that he was out of poop and that it was just gas left so we were free to get on the road.

As we were leaving the scout meeting Kennie asked the boys how many popsicles they ate after school and Kent says “none, Corey and I split a box of prunes”…….

So my afternoon has involved two dogs, poop on the deck, a puddle in the laundry room, a kid, a full invasion of my kitchen counter by an army of ants and homework sheets that needed the blowdryer taken to them due to some spillege of some lemonade. And this was just in the last hour.

Oh...I poured my self a glass of wine. Something tells me I'm going to need it.

Oh and did I mention the note I needed to fire off to the track coach to reminder her the importance of being a good role model?

I think I'm done for the day. Well not really...there's still dinner and an order to be delivered to the local fire station. Better let Dan handle that one.

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years.
They had shared everything. They had talked about everything.
They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little
old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had
cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about it.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but
one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said
She would not recover.
In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took
down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside.
She agreed that it was time that he should know what was
in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls
and a stack of money totaling $95,000..
He asked her about the contents. 'When we were to be married,'
she said, 'my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage
was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you,
I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.'
The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two
precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two
times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with
happiness.
'Honey,' he said, 'that explains the doll, but what about all of this money?
Where did it come from?'
'Oh,' she said, 'that's the money I made from selling the dolls.'

Last night I auditioned for my first high school pay RENT :yahoo:! I think I did well, but there were tones of people there who were better. I really hope that I get in, I don't even care if it's a lead or not, I just wont to get in.

Fingers crossed for you Bia!!

My DH took me out for breakfast and it taking me out for supper, too. We didn't eat lunch.

Breakfast was so good. It was a Sheepherder's breakfast: Bacon, egg, and cheese in Indian fry bread. I'm glad we don't have access to that collection of cholesterol very often. We shared one and I didn't finish my half so it could have been worse.

We'll be eating healthier tonight at the Capitol Reef Cafe.

Hi everyone - Helene is still struggling terribly! Vic is getting no better at all. He is very discouraged, hates taking his meds, is tired all the time and wants to give up. He refused some meds the other night and was really bad the next day. She really needs our prayers. I don't know if she comes over here and lurks or not but I know a pm to her would generate an email notice so she would see that at least. Or she is scrapping to beat the band at the other site to keep from crying all the time. She's really coming up with beautiful work too. She did a remarkable Mother's Day layout about her own day and you can just see the strain on her face. It's all so sad.

Well that and a funny little thing happened with my ankle this morning...I was stretching and heard a pop come out of my ankle. And then...no more pain! So for a week and three days, I've had a bone out of place. I was getting around just fine but it still hurt if I moved it a certain way or sat on my foot...I actually do that a lot.

At this moment, 16 years ago today, I was in active labor up in Ketchikan, AK, not-so-patiently waiting to meet my first child. Little did I know that I still had 3 and a half hours left to wait! But the moment I held her in my arms, time melted away to nothing and she, along with her father, became the center of my universe.

I may have 3 more children, a different husband, and quite a few regrets as to how I've handled the last 12 1/2 years, but one thing has only gotten better...my love for my first born child.

Summer, I hope you can feel all of the love I have for you as start on this next leg of the adventure we call 'life'. :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: Mom

  Hi, JL!!!

WW, I did move my *Alex's Christening* layout to heritage. I'm not so sure it qualifies TODAY, but it will certainly qualify in the FUTURE! :D

Why is it that I had to spend the entire day on Monday and a portion of Tuesday, catching up with 30 pages y'all chatted through over the weekend, much to the chagrin of those that should have received my Weekly Report on Monday, only to have practically NO pages to read now that I actually have spare time!  :( :(

( hey!
we made it safely to West Virginia on Sunday!
The journey was so stressful that I didn't get one picture... not one! :)
But now we are relaxing and the weather is great ♥)

Hi everyone - Helene is still struggling terribly!

:pray::hug:

Morning everyone. Not much happening in my corner of the world this week.

Well, I started this over 3 hours ago and had to leave and take one of our dachshunds to the vet. Poor sick baby; they couldn't find anything, but she has a fever. Just watching her for now.

Off to vacuum the house. We are being over run with dog hair since warm weather is coming.

Double post - Raif got sushi delivered to my work place! He got my coworker to tell him the kinds that I usually order and got it delivered. It was great timing too - I was out of the office when the guy came, so Abbey was able to get the food and set it out for me before I came back. I am very impressed with him.

And I get my present after work!!! Only 2 and a half more hours.

I was looking at today's lesson at Digital Photography School (http://digital-photography-school.com/portrait-tip-add-interest-and-movement-into-your-shots-with-wind) (lesson is using wind in portraits) and was especially drawn to the photograph below by Sapo Essay. I followed the link to his Flickr Album (http://www.flickr.com/photos/sapo74/sets/72157606027252173/) and really love some of the portraits he has done, especially in the way he uses lighting.

I had something similar a few weeks ago. Clumsily smacked my foot on the metal edge of the shower enclosure as I stepped out of the tub followed by lots of cursing - DANG, that hurt!! The pain increased over a couple of weeks so I jokingly said to my chiropractor, "Do you fix feet, too?" He manipulated my foot, gave one very big jerk on it, and the pain was gone instantly. Turned out that bone on the outside middle of my foot was turned from being smacked so hard. Strange that I could go a whole life without paying any attention to that bone and then....

Hate to interrupt such a good conversation, but ... could someone using PSE7 help me? I need to find where I stumbled onto patterns of texture that include tie dye, checkerboard, metallic snakeskin, bubbles ... for a few. I had them once on accident and not that I need them, I can not find them for anything. I pulled up help, I went to my missing manual, I pulled out some hair, I even punched my computer (which did absolutely no good!). I need to find it for DSU 220, which I should not even be taking because it is in PS, but signed up for it before I realized I signed up for the wrong class. So am trying to get the good out of it. I can do this! (But would sure appreciate some help!)

I have already talked about a family ceremony we will attend tomorrow morning. We were blessed with our oldest DGD when she was 13 and our DD became her mom for real. Despite going through way too many hard times in her first 13 years, this DGD was successful in AP honors classes, captain of her hs flag team, editor of the hs yearbook, and tomorrow will graduate summa --- laude as the first college graduate in her biological families. We are all so proud that we're ready to burst!!!! :yahoo:

Omio, congrats on the wonderful graduation in your life!! Lovely and can't wait to see the layout!!

You are right about the pronunciation. It's a British name, "Ralph" like "Ralph Fiennes" but they spelled it so that Americans can pronounce it! :p

So - more birthday fun! My coworker Abbey got another one of our coworkers to buy dessert and they all came in to sing me happy birthday! It was yummy! And I'm going to bring the leftovers down to my dad tomorrow! :) He will enjoy them :D They are all creamy so Raif won't eat them, and my mom is allergic to gluten, plus it was my dad's birthday about three and a half weeks ago, so this is great. And then!!! My dad called from work to wish me happy birthday! It was very cute - he's a doctor, so it's hard for him to get time to call from work! Makes me feel very special :love2:

Yeah - this is, so far, a very nice birthday!

Maybe we should get some suggestions for what a contest like this would be like. NKOTB is a contest for learning through feedback from other members, no eliminations and an optional judging round. Are there enough people that would seriously consider doing a contest something like NKOTB but for members that have been around longer?

I need to find it for DSU 220, which I should not even be taking because it is in PS, but signed up for it before I realized I signed up for the wrong class. So am trying to get the good out of it. I can do this! (But would sure appreciate some help!)

Let me give it a try.
Click on the paint bucket
At the top, in the tool bar you should see PATTERN put a check mark in the box.
Click on the drop down and you will see patterns.
Also click on the two arrows in the drop down window and you will see more at the bottom.

Give that a try. If it does not work PM me and I will see if I can help.:think:

I'm quite interested to see who can view my book and who can't. I ordered a 30 pager from Artscow, and I know that my DH and Baflien could view it, but yet, Mars and Crys couldn't.

Can you tell me if you can see it please ? Trying to work out the trend here.

prepare for a loud and proud Omi brag...

:yahoo:

Hoping for lots of good pictures (that she will let me post!) and a layout to follow.

Hi there Omi....what a wonderful story....so does that make her about 18 now? I hope you all have beautiful day tomorrow.:)

I think it would be for old kids. :D

Maybe we should get some suggestions for what a contest like this would be like. NKOTB is a contest for learning through feedback from other members, no eliminations and an optional judging round. Are there enough people that would seriously consider doing a contest something like NKOTB but for members that have been around longer?

I would love to do this - although maybe not a judging round or contest - just some good friendly advice and learning from the *pros* around here!

Gosh, this means I am relatively bruise, blister, scab and pain FREE right now. How long can that last???

Stay safe and have a wonderful time!

Are there enough people that would seriously consider doing a contest something like NKOTB but for members that have been around longer?

I love the way you're running NKOTB now. Offering a judging round as an option -- great idea since lots of people [shh, who said I was talking about LL?] really hate judging rounds.

Personally I love getting into little contests, especially if I get feedback, if only when I get knocked out. :p But there aren't many little contests like that around and I have no plans ever to step my foot into DET waters. :D

And I love the REAL feedback that says, "I'm not too crazy about xyz -- have you thought of trying abc?" It's so wonderful to have people point out flaws in my own layouts -- I'm amazed at the little things I don't see or don't think of trying.

So that's my vote.

BTW, my apologies for getting bogged down trying to comment in NK Round 3. Think I ended up commenting on everyone except the people I know!!! But I learned a lot from other people's comments and will try to catch up a bit tonight. (When does Round 3 end?)

Get off work in time for Heritage Chat and to hit the store for Nicole's sale, stop by Walgreen's to pick up Shawn's test strips and my nice relaxing evening goes south....
'I'm sorry but we can't fill this prescription because there are no refills....we can fax the doctor and we may get an answer back in 4 days at the earliest '....
GRRRR!!! Tried to explain that Shawn needed to test his blood 2-3x a day and needs test strips....'Ma'm, you can buy them 100 strips will cost $66.00...!!!
My bright idea was to just buy a blood meter with enough strips to tide him over...sounds good right??? Nope, then we would have to put in a new prescription and start over!!! The meters are dirt cheap and so are lancets but the strips that make the whole thing useful are expensive !!! where is the logic in that (oops it's medical insurance there is no logic)...
Anyway, after a few go arounds the Pharmacist saw my point, made an exception and I know have Shawn's test strips....
Sometimes the Diabetes itself is easier to deal with than all the insurance/prescription stuff, it's enough to drive a person to drink .......

My DH is one seriously unhappy camper at the moment.:mad::mad:
He left here Wednesday evening to fly to Mumbai to attend a medical conference and was flying via Singapore - it seems halfway there one of the engines stopped working completely and they had to do an emergency landing in Bali. He was held up there for a few hours before they could find another flight to Singapore for him.
He arrived at Singapore and was ferried across in a golf buggy at break neck speed to catch the Air India flight to Mumbai - only to miss it by 3 minutes!!
So now he is stuck in Singapore and wont be able to spend the extra day he allowed himself to indulge himself in his passion for photography in Mumbai.
They have put him up in a 5* hotel and are paying for lunch, dinner and taxis, so I told him he might as well enjoy it!!

I kind of had to laugh to myself when DH rang from Singapore - because he told me had bought me an external hard drive for my layouts!!
I have asked him on numerous occasions over the last years if I should invest in an EHD and he has always told me that the way he is backing up our computers is sufficient and I had no need for one! -Go figure out men:confused::confused:

Then to rub salt into the wound I mentioned that there was a special on Catch of the Day 3 days ago for a 1TB EHD for $149 which is much bigger and cheaper than the one he has bought in Singapore!:yikes::yikes: I didnt buy it at the time cause I presumed I didnt need it!!

Your turn now Jen - I didnt pinch your spot!!

I think the flight must have been a bit scary - he said all the lights came on and the plane started coughing and shaking and when they had landed and opened the doors there was a very strong smell of engine fuel and loads of oil leaking onto the tarmac:yikes::yikes:

Good Morning all. I did read through. Catch of the day is bookmarked now. Thoughts of 5 star hotels will float around my head for the day. Got to go and check out Christine's new kit. Must go back and look at Sandy's layout. Congrats to Raffie. Jessica, I hope you had a wonderful birthday.

I hope I caught everything. I'm sure I missed something but I am sooooo incredibly wiped out. I could barely function enough to get a coherent sentence in. I'm starting to come around with coffee but I still think a nap is in my immediate future.

I am still is awe of the day that I had yesterday. The pictures and stories that Laura has of her youth are incredible. I'm telling you, I could sit there for days listening. Her baby pictures are soooooo gosh darn CUTE. It's not hard to figure out where her grand daughters get their cuteness from.

Speaking of her granddaughters, they are just a delight. They had been to a resturant that features a clown every Wednesday. The littlest one, Abby, came in with a set of angel/fairy wings on that were made from balloons. It was just so cute!

I was showing my son some of the pictures and promised him that I would take him there very son. As I guessed last night, my son decided that Mr. Ramon's garages are cool and he can't wait to hang out with Mr. Ramon! (I got a good chuckle out of the fact that Ramon has the remote to both his garage and his neighbor's garage there by giving him two garages. ps-his neighbor is his son.)

Shhhh...the OD (Old Dear) is Roman but I know he will way appreciate yout enthusiasm over his garage(s). His pride and joy. He had that garage built and furnished before he did his kitchen...I highly recommend separate homes for mature couples. It isn't marriage that causes problems, it is that darned day-to-day living together.

It was so much fun looking at my town, the Metro Park and my family through WW's eyes. I tried to get her to spend the night. I was afraid that was a long ride home late at night for her, but she called me when she got home safely, thank goodness.

WW's enthusiasm over my paper scrapped albums has me thinking of doing some paper scrapping again. There is a different kind of pride in the craft part of it.

I have already started planning on a road trip to WW's place. I want to include The Old Dear because I just KNOW he will get along with Woodsy Sven and Bus Stop Kenny.
