Gundy, It is good to hear you had a good experience. But I still think it would have been fun to see a layout of you pushing and pulling that BBQ grill down the street and waving goodbye to the Home Depot. Wonder if you could do a kit promoting them...lol. Colors would be good eh?

I am thinking of staging a shot and then have a closeup of the bbq for a LO, might even have to make some sort of kit to go with. LOL

Vicki....i'm thinking of bringing the grands to the safari this summer. Got any tips? They really want to go back to Put-In-Bay but it is so expensive and my pocket book is very low this summer!

I keep getting kicked off dsp....why does this happen?

We tried to go today but the cars were lined up all the way out of the park and onto the road! So we didn't! My friend says that you can take your kids to the humongous playground at Kalahari for free but that's not in the water park part. Also they made some kind of walking safari there but I don't know how much that is or anything about it yet. PIB is over-rated I think for the price to get there and everything. I think the fair is the week after next - the demolition derby is always on Thursday night. That's fun if they like farm animals.

Did you say that you stay at Harborside or Waterfront? My dh, The Snake, works mostly at Harborside but sometimes covers at Waterfront. I'm sure that would be fun to meet him!:rofl::rofl: :rofl::rofl: :rofl::rofl: :rofl::rofl:

You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I sort of can't wait to get back to work, because my DH is driving me batty! If he doesn't find a boat soon, I can't be responsible for what might happen!!

Despite his best efforts, I finally got one layout done! One layout in three days, and that's going to be it! :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:

I just got back from a GREAT experience...Jeff Daniel's Purple Rose Theater in Chelsea, Michigan. I love live theater and especially an intimate one like this. My darling next door neighbor took me with 2 of her friends for my birthday (a little early). The play was a comedy with a few tears and the professional actors were wonderful.

I found out Friday night that my dear neighbor was totally screwed out of her house by a mortgage company and, in spite of never missing a payment, the house goes on the Sheriff's auction the 22nd of this month. Any one of a number of attorneys will take on the case but there isn't time to do anything, this happened so fast. She still has a couple of options, but none of them good. She will have to be out by January 17. I am devastated! She is like a daughter to me. We cried and cried Friday night. She doesn't qualify for any of the so called programs out there...they aren't at all as advertised.

She is the 4th person on our block to loose their house...I wonder if the others were cheated as badly as she has been. Her kids, especially her 12 year old son, are devastated, too.

That is horrendous LL!! It seems to me that banks are resorting to the nastiest, most vile ways of making money off of their clients least able to dish it out! Their nastiness is exponentially in inverse proportion to a person's niceness! (In case you don't excel that much at math - that means if a person is twice as nice today as yesterday, then the bank is twice times 2 to the 987507865th power nastier today than yesterday!!) In fact, banks are a trillion times worse than The Snake in a Skunk's mask worst day ever!!!:mad: :mad:

OK I have a wahoo kind of story today.
So dh and I went into Home Depot looking for a barbecue grill. . . . Here's the funny part! So I decide it is only like 6 blocks to my house, so I am going to "walk" it home! (Can't you just picture it?!)

I can picture it!:rofl::rofl: Great story

I had a great day at the football! I was up in the Chairman's Lounge with the invited guests. Lunch was fabulous to the max! Lots of seafood, salads, roasts, desserts, open bar (!!!). I had several lemon squashes! Plus our club team won 38-34 in a very close game. :yippee: :yippee:

that is horrible, not the 1st person this has happened to....

there are bad mortgage companies out there - AND GOOD ones..

I worked for banks my entire working life.. and just happened to work for ones with very high moral standards... I was lucky..

but so many, will just take advantage... it's so sad.... my BIL and SIL just had their home taken... he's 73.. can't go back to work... so they are living with her daughter... and, her DH and kids... At least they had a place with a roof to go to...

Prayers for your neighbor and her son... I hope they find shelter in a very safe place soon... :love3::pray::pray::pray:

Lizzanne, How come I congratulated you on 19,000 posts??:rofl::rofl: :rofl::rofl:

And, now for my 8,000th post! So appropriate that it's here on the GT. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::drumroll: :drumroll::drumroll::drumroll::drumroll:

YAY, Jill! :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:  :yahoo: :yahoo:

:rofl::rofl: My darling you are just dripping in pulchritude!

I'd so rather be dripping in diamonds!!!

I got invited to watch the next football game at the club from the Chairman's Lounge! It is on Sunday, I get to rub shoulders with all the bosses (!!) get free food and drink and fabulous view of the game. :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

Cool! Yo deserve some pampering!!

That would be a riot! Let's think of some words.............

I love the word PLETHORA

Thanks sweetie! I must say she has had a super attitude, even though she is mad and upset, she hasn't asked me once to replace it for her. Instead she is asking for jobs she can do to earn money etc. Proud mom moment!

Go, DD #1!!!!!!!! :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:    :love1: :love1: :love1:

Double whammy proud mom moment............(1) She did not ask you to buy one, and (2) YOU did not go our and spontaneously buy one.

I have to constantly fight the urge to "get things" for my kids. You know how it is, you love them, you want them to have the things they desire, you want them to be happy...........I have to constantly remind myself that if I do those things constantly (I do them on occassion) I am not doing them ANY favors.

Just one of a plethora of reasons why you are such a wonderful mother!!! :D

NO CANCER IN THE LUNGS :yippee::yippee::yippee::yippee:..

Her surgery at noon yesterday, Dr was able to go in through her side so no bones had to be broken and found that it was some kind of scar tissue...:tup::tup:... and we are all just doing the crazy with glee happy dance.....:yippee::yippee::party::party:

Biggest hugs for all my sweet GT blessings...:D

This is the absolute BEST news, Kim! :yippee: :yahoo:  :yippee: :yahoo:  :yippee: :yahoo:

(I posted this in the Inspiration and Support thread, but I wanted to share it with ya'll too). I am on the verge of tarring and feathering Andrew!

Guess what Andrew has started doing to "amuse" himself......I guess he is a little bored since it is summertime and he is not in school....he waits until I am carefully extracting something, then he creeps up behind me and bumps the mouse. He did it at least 5 or 6 times today. And then he laughs hysterically. I may have to duct tape him to a chair.

Duct tape him to the chair, then have Bia tickle his feet with a feather. ;) ;) Or, you could pretend to be using your mouse and as he approaches, turn around and scream like a banshee Indian and scare the living daylights out of him! 007: Being behind does have it's advantages!

Bloviate means writing or speaking wordily.

That would be me! :D :D

I got him back! I heard him out in the hall whispering to Bia, "Shhhhh. Watch what I am going to do to Mom."

I kept moving my mouse real easy like, so he would not suspect a thing. Then, when he got right behind me, I snapped my head around and screamed at the top of my lungs.

I just about scared him to death.

Ha!

Am I clairvoyat, or what?

DH and I had a major dissagreement on the way to a party over his driving------hate how he drives too fast and does things like u-turns on major roads.
Then after the party, as we were putting things into the car, I didn't notice that there was not a curb but was a curved gulch instead and I turned over my ankle and fell in the street. I was the only one outside at the time so atleast I didn't have to look stupid infront of anyone but now my ankle is the size of a grapefruit and hurts sooooooooooo bad, with or without ice. I have a dive meet to run tonight and as usua; 20 trip to take with the kids so I am not in a great mood as I am in pain! ENOUGH complaining..... time to get up and do something with my day other than read the GT.

IT'S AVATAR EXPLANATION TIME

We will all take turns nicely (no shoving) to explain our avatars, and if yours is a photo of you, you will be honest and tell us when and where it was was taken.

My avatar is the real me, taken holding Baby Alex, the week after he was born, on the first of Mar. 2009. No photoshop; no glamorizing; nothin' - just plain ole me.  There are only a handful of pictures taken of me throughout my life that I actually liked. This is not one of them. :annoyed: :annoyed:

ARGH!! I just got a PM and it said THIS:

Your Layout was chosen for the July IS

ARGH!! Woo hoo! And having said it once, and liking the sound of it, I say again: WOO HOO!

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: YAY, YOU!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

No problem Inks--the truck stays. I just need something else on the back of it. The train track is from when Karen and I went to Denver and SLC--wasn't that back in Feb? :help:

Ummmmm.......January - so the tracks are even older than you thought!  You need a new one showing you at my house, picking me up for a road trip! :D

I think I am more excited about getting my scrapping goal for the year finished. Maybe I should have set my sights higher. I still have so much to do for Andrea's graduation book. I can't decide if I should make an all digital book since all of her early years are paper scrapped and scan them or start from scratch and make her an all new one! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, What Would PQ DO??? Hey Fran is Andrews book both paper and digi or did you redo his early years?

Hi Grannies! Lots going on today! Mostly good too it sounds! I have been cooped up in the house all day but that's ok! I got lots and lots scrapped! Probably 8 or 10 layouts plus another BIG project I'm working on - so, not so bad for a laid up old lady, huh?!?!?

Anyway, I know y'all love my little Jakey too, so here are two that I did of him today - a good break from all those heritage layouts I've been doing! But then I also forgot that I do his in 6x4 and went and did them in 8x10! Oh well!

I just finished reading the email that I get daily from Today in History! Very cool things happened on this day including:

In 1957, while attending a church picnic near Liverpool, 15-year-old Paul McCartney met 16-year-old John Lennon. Lennon's band was playing at the picnic and by the end of the day McCartney had joined the group.

Baseball, Anne Frank, USSR, lots more!!

I posted the whole thing on my blog (http://vintagevicki.blogspot.com/) - check it out!:yes:

Well! I have to say, all the birthday greetings are just overwhelming! I am ALMOST done pouting because I can't be having a meeting with Meryl and the "gang".

DD will be coming home from the family 5 days on Mackinaw Island and I just finished decorating her house for her 40th birthday. That's right...I had her on my birthday. No one should have to work that hard on their birthday

Carrie was already 2 weeks late and, after 3 pregnancies in a row (15 months and 18 months between the PGs) I cried the night before that this baby was never being born and I was going to be pregnant forever. I went alone to church on the birthday morning and a new young minister was delivering his first sermon. Years later I ran into him at my nephew's baptism and he remembered me. Said he could see that I was in labor (I thought I covered it up pretty well) and it about blew a hole in his first sermon.

By 4 that afternoon it was evident I was finally going to have this baby. By 8:40 PM she was in my arms and the Drs and nurses sang Happy Birthday to me.

Since she will be on the road coming home most of today, we will celebrate together tomorrow by shopping in Ann Arbor and having lunch together. We may even take in a 3-D movie (Up). Tonight the Old Dear is taking me to dinner. He bought me a Wacom Bamboo Craft tablet last week. One day I may even figure out how to use it. WW promised to come and help me.

Thanks again all my wonderful Granny friends!!!!!

An Adobe update--

Remember this I posted on the fourth? This morning I tried to check on my PSCS PC to Mac request with Adobe, and the information in my case is so confusing I don't know what the hey their doing! The product they have listed on my open case file is Photoshop Elements 10. (Elements doesn't go to 10, does it? ) I was very clear when I talked to the customer service rep in the online chat as to what I needed to do--change PSCS from PC to Mac. And she sent me the Letter of Destruction whereby I promise to destroy the PSCS that I have now (no surprise, I'd read about that) but the LOD said that they would refund my money when done. And I explained to her that I didn't want money, I wanted PSCS on my Mac. No problem she said--just do it. So I filled out the LOD, faxed it in and have been waiting. Imagine my surprise when I figured out how to log in and view my case that there's a response dated June 19 thanking me for contacting Adobe, the LOD was received, and I will be receiving a refund check within four to six weeks.

Well, I just got off the phone with Adobe support, and the person above did not give me the correct form. :annoyed: :annoyed: So it was all wrong, and now I have another form to fill out and send in. The person I talked today was very nice, and said with the trouble I've had they'll put a rush on it...I'm going to keep a positive attitude and be hopeful.

Wonder if I can download a trial on my laptop and continue on...

Lemon Squash??? EG100 little Grandie loves some kind of Squashy drink too.. Still haven't googled it though..

Ok
Squashes and cordials are common in the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Scandinavia, South Africa, Kenya, Australia, Israel and New Zealand, and have a large market share in competition with fruit juices and soft drinks. Typically, squash is created by mixing one part concentrate with four or five parts water (depending on concentration and personal taste) directly into a glass or mug or into a jug. Common flavours are orange, apple, grape, raspberry, blackcurrant, peppermint, mixed fruit, lemon, peach, strawberry, and kiwi fruit.

How come no one told me about Squashes when I was in OZ & NZ.. I think I would have liked tasting some..:think::think: I am thinking V's was spiked with something other than syrup:D

I can't decide if I should make an all digital book since all of her early years are paper scrapped and scan them or start from scratch and make her an all new one! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, What Would PQ DO??? Hey Fran is Andrews book both paper and digi or did you redo his early years?

OMG 400 finished in 6 months....That's so cool Raff...I don't think I even have 400 in my 4 years worth... I think I'll go cry for me now:cry::cry::cry::cry:

Sorry to hear about you ankle Raffie - make sure you take it easy. I know exactly where you are coming from with the driving, my DH speeds all the time and is a very aggressive driver - half the time I sit there with my eyes shut. And he is worse when he gets in the car with me because he is a back seat driver and tells me exactly where I am going wrong all the time - it drives me insane and always leads to an argument - men!!:mad:
