Just doing another Drive By and, I, also, hope it will give a moment of lightness for us today. The photo, again, was taken by my 6 year old granddaughter.

Kay - You expressed exactly what I have been feeling since Carrie was conclusively diagnosed with cancer yesterday. I too am scared, and so is Carrie. This feels like my own personal 9/11. I lost my sense of security that day and realized life would never be the same. This feels the same way. Even if/when Carrie beats this I know we will always be looking over our shoulder....just waiting and feeling so insecure. I am sending my prayers to you. Please try to stay strong and positive and I will try to do the same!
This just made me cry like big old baby...As a Mom to four beautiful girls my heart just gasps at the thought of what you are going through Sandy... Extra prayers for Carrie, your family and you dear sweet lady...
Ok... so things run in 3's right? I'm going to post this, I wasn't going to, but I cannot bare to hear anymore devastating news.
Remember my friend's mother that the grannies were praying for a while back. The one with the tumour on the brain? Well the tumour is back now and double the size! They say its inoperable, so they are just sitting and waiting for the inevitable.
Please prayer that God's Will be done!
Thanks.
I second that last part Sands... Prayers for your friend, her Mom and family..
*love, faith, and hope*, I started thinking about those words. They are not just words - they are the way of life in the granny thread!
Raising my cup to love, faith & hope amongst the GT's!
Chin up everyone...
Extra hugs and lots of prayers, Kim

Ladies..... I haven't been around much and I am sorry for that. You gals are the most loving bunch of folks on the planet and I love each and everyone of you so very dearly.
I am trying to catch up on all of the post but I can see that it is next to impossible to do that at this point. LOL!
Kay.. I love you dearly, my friend and I am praying for you daily. I have been in tears for the past 30 minutes after reading your post and I can only say "THANK GOD" that this has been caught early. I will be thinking of you and I will be praying daily for you as you go through this. you are not alone...never alone.
I love the idea of "Love, Faith and Hope" layouts and I will be sure to get mine posted over the rest of the weekend.
Vicki...thanks for the link to the gallery..I am not sure that I would have found it otherwise!
HAPPY THOUGHTS, LADIES!!!!

SO how was I supposed to explain ?????:lol: Nothing I muttered and nonchalantly ate the bean !!!:yikes::shocked::shocked: EG !!! EG !!! Please tell me you are okay !!!:love3::hug:
My DS mentioned that cancer was a real Pain In the A$$ and so I have named my tumour Pia !! I am not being flippant about this..it really helps to relate to it ! “: Every hand that touches my body is a healing hand. All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe!”
Hi Kay,
I’m going to help you in every way I can with this, and just know it has no power over you at all – acknowledge it and say thanks for coming but I’m going to have to let you go. Don’t resist it, don’t ever say you are fighting cancer, don’t pray against it, but rather pray for life, for health, forgive and let go of everything, and everything. There isn’t anything that happens to us that doesn’t happen for a reason – its all part and parcel of this experience we call life. You will get through this before you know it and you have all the support and love in the world along the way. There is so much to live for, and to experience, so let’s be done with it. You are head strong and very protected always J
Kay, in my experience with people I have dealt with, books I have read, there is a strong emotional connection with regards to the manifestation of cancer, I want you to write letters to people in your life that have hurt you, let you down, made you feel unloved, or unworthy, write down everything you would tell them if you could do it face to face, This is extremely powerful, and really helps release things we may not even know are still eating us up. You can write the letters and then burn them up, or send them, BUT have no expectations, people are not meant to react how we want them too, instead its how WE choose to react to them that makes all the difference. I for example haven’t got the best relationship with my dad, and even though I always think I have dealt with all the issues and forgiven, something comes up and stirs an immense amount of emotion that gets to me, I cant communicate with him, as I am just as volatile and stubborn as he is J , so I have written letters to my dad as I know he is unable to handle what I say, and doesn’t even know what he has done wrong, so by writing the letters and then burning them up, I let go of it, even if it’s not directly with him it works on a whole other level and I don’t carry it with me on my journey. Sometimes we have to do some really deep inner cleansing and get rid of that old emotional baggage, and sometimes we need to do it more than once or even years later.
What we think affects our immune system. This is a very simple concept that has been substantiated by our science. At Harvard Medical School, researchers discovered receptors on our immune system cells for brain chemicals. Our thoughts create our brain chemicals. Good thoughts improve our immune system and negative thoughts suppress our immune system. According to the Harvard research, this entire process is biochemical. The new science is called Psychoneuroimmunology. As far as science is concerned, Psychoneuroimmunology is the reason behind the Body/Mind connection. It's all biochemical.
Staying in the body is opposed to being in the mind. Too often we are prisoners of our thoughts. These thoughts are usually about the past or about the future and are rarely about the present, the now. Living in the mind makes us slaves to that mental broken record skipping over and over and over and over....this needs to be let go.
Eighty percent of the thoughts you have today you had yesterday.
If we're not trying to repair the past, we're stuck worrying about the future. This is always a fruitless endeavor because 99% of what we worry about never comes true anyway. And we certainly cannot change the past, though knowing this still doesn't help because once again, most of us are prisoners to our thoughts that go on and on and on . . .
This is unconscious living. And when something happens; our stability is threatened, our ego is attacked, or our beliefs are attacked, we become even more unconscious and go on "auto pilot." We get angry, we fight back, we basically dive right into our dramas and repeat old behaviors completely unconsciously.
Being "in the body" allows us to stand back when attacked or confronted and change our behaviors by mastering our thoughts. If you want to change a behavior, change the thought. But if we're so wrapped up in our dramas, slaves to our thoughts, change will not and cannot come about.
I am sending you some Sutherlandia, I know Elizabeth spoke to you and it’s a really great product – works wonders! I also am sending some Louise Hay books, and a DVD, read them and watch it over and over, so that it sinks in and that becomes your reality. It’s like entering into another realm of consciousness and is perhaps one of the most powerful healing tools.
With regards to you diet, lets keep it simple, fruit, vegetables, especially cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage, some fresh fish and only use 2 tablespoons of olive oil a day not heated., NO other cooked fat, if you can get organic chicken breasts or some Karoo lamb you can eat this occasionally. Quinoa is really a great food too, so you can definitely eat this. Legumes are also Ok, but may be hard to digest. Sweet Potatoes, pumpkin, butternut are great foods during chemo too. The reason why some people get sick from chemo or cant keep anything down is because they eating foods that are too difficult for the body to digest and assimilate. Sutherlandia will help with this. So keep everything as close to nature as possible, organic if possible. Chemicals and hormones in food are extremely estrogenic, and this is not what we want.
Also make a broth out of Carrot, celery and parsley and drink this, you can make it into a soup, this is really a magic combination. Paw Paw in abundance is very NB.
Things to eliminate completely:
1) Dairy and any animal Product including eggs.
2) Sugar in all forms even artificial ones
3) Coffee
4) Deodorants and perfume
5) Any body creams and make up
6) Anything processed or in a box or can
Let’s see how you feel and adjust but let’s start with something like this for now.
Morning: Paw paw and soup until 12
Lunch: Fish/lamb or chicken with salad and steamed veg
Dinner: Soups, steamed veggies with olive oil and some quinoa.
Don’t have protein at night.
Also in the morning I want you to have some brewers yeast, wheat germ and lecithin in the morning, just mix it together with a little water into a paste. A tablespoon of each is perfect. That health shop we went to when I was there had this, if they don’t let me know and we will send it to you with pleasure.
Don’t worry about portion sizes just eat what you can and if you can eat lots and lots of this food then you must, bowels of vegetables, 3 paw paws a day, its not high calorie food and you going to need the energy. They say raw food is very good for cancer, but not if immunity is compromised as raw food can be very difficult to digest, so slightly steam veggies and even the fish and chicken, or dry grill it.
Lastly:
It is OK to be scared. It is OK to be sad. It is OK to be angry. Let yourself feel all of this and more - just let yourself feel. Let it pass through you and drain from you.. Get in touch with who you really are - you are love and pure energy at the core. Feel that. Love that.
Cancer is not a death sentence - it is a call to live. It is a call for you to love yourself and to feel yourself healed from all your past wrongs, all your past regrets, all your past mistakes. Cancer gives you permission to let go of all the crap in your life and acknowledge all of the good things.
Cancer can be a gift for you, if you choose it to be so. Give yourself permission to take a break. Give yourself permission to slow right down, to pause, and to just simply be
Something uplifting: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/3348269/How-positive-thinking-helped-me-beat-cancer.html
A prayer of thanks is said to be the most powerful prayer in the universe.
“I LET THE PAST PASS. I APPRECIATE AND ACCEPT MY WHOLE, WILLING, COURAGEOUS, AND HEALED SELF. AS MY LOVE FOR MYSELF GROWS, THE PEACE WITHIN ME BLOSSOMS. I RELEASE THE BLAME AND RESENTMENT, AND I AM FREE”
Please say this as many times a day as you can, print it out, make it pretty, put it on the bathroom mirror and repeat it all day!
I am here if you need anything, anytime.
Big hug and loads and loads of love!
Vanessa

When I just typed that last note to Sandy and typed *love, faith, and hope*, I started thinking about those words. They are not just words - they are the way of life in the granny thread! We are filled with love, faith, and hope more here than probably any church anywhere in the world! And our prayers going out from our collective hearts to God are POWERFUL because of the caring, giving spirits that we have along with our love, faith, and hope. I know we all feel quite overwhelmed right now, but we shall overcome this terrible time and come out stronger and closer than ever!
The note I wrote to Joan also was more than words. We really DO NEED to visually see our love, faith, and hope in action. We are visual-type people; layouts are therapeutic for us. So, I say, let's get a little therapy going on around here instead of all this moping! (I am a moping expert and I know moping when I see it and YES, we are all moping!!!) Let's flood the granny gallery with layouts showing our love, faith, and hope!! Every one of us has been touched very powerfully at one time or another - let's get it on paper and share it!
So, onward with the Love, Faith, and Hope Challenge! There are no prizes except the warm fuzzies. There are no deadlines, no rules, no nothin'!! Just do it!! Like I tell Jake all the time, quit draggin' that lip around, a bird is gonna poop on it! Chin up everyone, and let's get all our inspirational layouts in the granny gallery as soon as we can! Everybody needs them!!
You're a wise woman Miss Vicki!!!

What I need to do is change my avatar. But computer died and at the same time took my new cordless keyboard with it to the grave. Got a new computer and keyboard but nothing installed yet. Just psp. No messenger or chat...etc. I'm thankful for the EHD!!! Even though it was hooked up it wasn't bothered. And the monitor is ok too. But just the tower alone is so expensive!
Speakers don't work with the new computer, scanner don't work with new computer, camera needs drivers to work with it. Printer seems ok, and i'm so thankful for that. My printer is 6yrs old!! I love it, it still prints really great photos. Takes a buttload of ink to do so.
So I think before the grandkids get here for the night I'll try and get some things done.
Like, maybe...just maybe and IOTW LO??
ya think??

CARRIE UPDATE
Carrie came home from the hospital on Thursday and is holding up as well as can be expected. She has a few more tests before surgery will be scheduled, including an endoscopic ultrasound on Monday, which will be done under anesthesia. (The probe goes down the throat and into the GI tract). The nights have been very long for her, so I am back to my middle of the night online status so she can IM me. Between 3:00 and 4:00 am seems to be the time she needs to talk and cry. Baby Ryan is the one thing that is keeping her going right now. Carrie and Steve have both been crying a lot which led to a funny exchange between the 2 of them. Steve told Carrie he was tired of crying.....and Carrie made a face and told him she was tired of having cancer. Steve said: "It's only been ONE day" (since she got the diagnosis). They both laughed. Steve and his Dad are both having a hard time with the diagnosis because his mom died after a long illness with breast cancer which spread to her bones.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern for Carrie they are so appreciated!!!
Sands - So sorry about your friend's mother. I hope she isn't in too much pain. Keeping her and her family in my prayers.
Sandy... praying for you and your family.

May I please have your permission to copy it for my files so I can print it out and study it??? I want to post it all over my house!
I love you so much! It really blows my mind how much you, and all of our ladies in here, mean to me. In all of the places I've lived, I've never felt the kinship I feel for all of you.   Y'all have been more like my family than even my OWN family has ever been. I am so so lucky to have Vanessa (my soon to be DIL) in my life right now (apart from all of you of course !!)..she is an amazing girl and I will share with you the email she sent yesterday which TOTALLY turned the way I was thinking ( she is very involved in nutriceuticals and works hand in hand with Patrick Holford !! ..in fact got personal advice from him for me !!) So you will see the only food I should be eating is veggie veggies and MORE veggies .. I was unpacking the heaps and heaps of green stuff when I came across the packet of green beans ...I eyed them very suspiciously as I SWEAR one of them began sprouting little green running shoes !!:shocked: Psssstttt..I whispered..your name isn't EG by any chance ??..just then H came to help.."what are you DOING ??" SO how was I supposed to explain ?????:lol: Nothing I muttered and nonchalantly ate the bean !!!:yikes::shocked::shocked: EG !!! EG !!! Please tell me you are okay !!!:love3::hug:
My DS mentioned that cancer was a real Pain In the A$$ and so I have named my tumour Pia !! I am not being flippant about this..it really helps to relate to it ! I really really am okay and how can I help but NOT be totally healed soon with all you beautiful wonderful amazing women on my side !! Will be back soon..have lots of catching up to do !! :love1::love1::love1:
Vanessas email is a bit long ..but WOW !! ..how powerful ..and EXACTLY what I needed amongst all the tears and fear and raw emotions..a breath of fresh air and just plain practical !!
Amen Sister Kay! TG4GT! So glad you are sounding so upbeat. The letter your future DIL is phenomenal![/

HI MS VALLIE!!!! My long time DEAR friend! I haven't connected with you in ages! I am slowly beginning to get back to the PLACE that I need to be. If home is where the HEART is...well...you see where I am! There truly is no place like home at DSP!
Kay...You are so lucky to have such a friend as you have in Vanessa! That is a very heart felt and wonderful e-mail. I do hope that you take the advice she has given you and I know that you will begin to feel so much better! I have a good friend that has recently WON her battle with Breast Cancer and she was given much this same advice. to you, sweetie! We are all here for you!

Kay, Sands, Sandy: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d142/hoozieg/Smilies/Hugs/grouphug.gif I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and throwing wads of red threads your way!
Just time for a quick update: We're moved! Out of the rental anyway. Still have to get stuff out of storage.
It's so nice here, but we've gotten a bunch of rain which tends to erode the loose soil we've created during construction. Water has caved in the side of our bank along the driveway and cut trenches into the hill to the basement door. Just paid $1600 to get the darn thing graded, but thank goodness we did or we'd possibly have a flooded basement. We bought 50 lbs of native grass seed to replant the bare ground, but at this point, we'd be wasting our time - it would wash away. No one has seen rain like this up here in decades. Had some hail too - little stuff though. Also a whole lot of lightening and 60 mph winds. Exciting, but quite destructive.
One of these days I'll update the blog some more. Just too busy unpacking and getting setup right now.
Love you guys!
PS: There's a meteor shower peaking on Aug 11th called the Perseid shower (because it appears to come from the constellation Perseid). Our own Janet posted about it and said it's supposed to be "spectacular." For more info, visit www.spaceweather.com

Well grannies I know we have been praying so hard lately but I have one more...
The mom of one of my best friends from highschool passed away. It was very unexpected. She had a stroke. She was a very active lady and kept herself in good health so it was surprising to everyone. Please pray for her, her brother and her dad. Her dad will have to live by himself in Honduras for a bit since her brother and her are both in the US.
Here is a layout with a picture of her (she is in the middle) because I like to have a face in mind when I pray. I so wish I could be home to be with them.

I'm on slow internet here at the hotel in California, so have been frustrated trying to make comments, and frustrated when page changes take so long, so prolly won't completely catch up until later this afternoon...I'll bet Omio's got faster internet! We are sooo spoiled here in the US. :o :o
I had a great time at Adobe meeting a bunch of folks IRL, and seeing faces I'd met before. I hope that we do it again next year, that all my granny friends have a windfall and no scheduling conflicts so they can come too--and I'm adding myself to that wishlist!
Hugs and red threads to all...

Raffie, I'm thanking God that you're okay after your ordeal on the interstate! You very obviously had a guardian angel riding shotgun with you!
And a big "WHAT VICKI SAID", too! :love1:
Thank you my dear. I have already had 3 phone calls from their Insurance CO and I hope I don't have to use their body work place as we have a guy that is great.(DH had a fight with a guard rail and ice one winter) I just hope it is a quick repair and not one of those that drags on forever. The passenger door, sliding door and the back panel on my van all have dents and scrapes so I will have to see what they want to do. As for me, I had to drive that road again 2 times oon friday and was 'skittish' the whole time.
That sounds like such a great opportunity though I know you will miss him tons. Your book will be fabulous I am sure. Your title page is awesome.
He will have such a great time but I told Andrea that the college she goes to must be no more than a 3 hour car ride. She thinks I am mean but I could not feel good about her being so far away. If all goes well I will let her do the 'Junior Year Abroad' program but her Freshman year will be spent close enough to get to her if she needs us. (Yes, I may be baby-ing her but its all I can do and she will be only 17 for college so I feel its my responsiblity to be mean. :rolleyes:LOL)

YIKES! I have returned to great heartache, followed by the most uplifting and positive lovefest I've ever witnessed! TG4GT, for sure!
I can think of nothing to say that hasn't already been said before and better.
Just know, Kay, Sandy, Sands and Mariafer, that I'll be steady praying, every day from here forward, till all the battles have been won.

Hi Everyone, I just had a wonderful 30 minute visit with Carma by phone. She is feeling much better but will be in rehab place until the end of the month. She has no internet there but will check in here as soon as she is able. It is so good to hear her voice! She asked me to come tell you all that she is thinking of us and is anxious to come back to us.

Lizzanne, I feel like I know so little to answer this but this is what I did. Go to computer, then hard drive, then windows and you will see a folder called fonts. I just open that folder, open the fonts I want to install and drag and drop them into the fonts folder. They are installed then. I had the same result with the font thing, it isn't compatable with Vista. Eventually, they will probably have a version that is compatable.
Do you know that there are programs called virtual PCs, that will allow you to use XP on your Vista Computer? My son is using that and I will also use it within the Vista harddrive and Vista won't realize it is there. (as soon as DS gets it set up properly). I hope this helps.

Good evening Girlfriends!!!
We have been clearing out junk today. It's funny what has moved from house to house with us. Lots of old paperwork, paycheck stubs, stuff like that mixed in with dated decorating items that simply aren't our style anymore. Anyway, I came across this. I have no idea were I got it or when. It's on note book paper and written in my handwriting.
A Happy Home Recipe
4 cups love
2 cups loyalty
3 cups forgiveness
1 cup friendship
1 large bunch of smiles
5 spoons hope
2 spoons tenderness
4 quarts faith
1 barrel laughter
3 pints consideration for others
Take love and loyalty, mix thoroughly with faith. Blend with tenderness, kindness, and understanding. Add friendship and abundant laughter. Top freely with smiles and consideration for others. Bake with bright sunshine. Serve daily in generous helpings.

I just found some time and enough wifi signal to drop in and try to catch up a little. And WOW! So glad I did, as I will be adding my prayers and red threads to all the others that the rest of you have already begun. Kay, Sandy, Sands, and Mariafer, I know that this is real and frightening for you--just remember that prayer does make a difference. So does love from friends, and you all have tons of both. Thank you sooo much, Kay, for starting this wonderful "family" for us!
Now for my news. My cousin, Mariam, who joined DSP in '07 but never followed through--the cousin who is living in my house while I full-time in my motorhome--she has been diagnosed with cancer, too! She has a tumor that dates back to before she moved into my house last October. At that time she didn't know it was malignant, and didn't follow through with the doctor's referral. Now it's so large that it's inoperable, but it seems to be isolated and not spreading. So she will begin chemo and/or (?) radiation next week and the doctor says it can probably be removed after it shrinks. Does that sound right, PQ, and any others with medical knowledge?
Please add Mariam to your prayer lists.
I'm so glad I dropped in tonight. I'm workamping at a state park in VA--the second this summer and way out in the boonies. I have very intermittent access to a wifi signal, no TV, and a weak cell signal as well. And I thought my first state park (July) was bad! So I'll be here as often as I can, and will be praying for you four and all the rest of you.
Big :hug::hug:, lots of =========== and many :pray::pray:!

I'm PM'ing you Lizzanne, but so that everyone can see my reply too, to use The Font thing with Vista you right click on the font you want then choose LOAD. It then loads the font onto your computer until such time as you switch your computer off.
If you want to permanently install the font, you need to use the windows folder its installed in, then right click on the font and choose install. Installing fonts is so easy with Vista!

We lit off our volcano at school this afternoon. WHOOSH! Red and yellow food coloing in it, loads of bicarb and then pourend vinegar in it. It was beautifully made and it went off so well.
Now we are all making little individual terrariums.

I just can't stop leaking --- so I have to find a way to turn all those tears into prayers for all of our dear granny thread friends in need!
(((((Kay)))))- can you feel how tightly I am wrapping you in red threads all the way from here? Megan and Sara are helping, so we may have got in a bit of a tangle, but that just makes our threads even stronger! :love3: I love you Kay! I love your sense of humor & strength and your Big Heart, and I know that you will beat this! We will all be praying with you and for you every single step of the way. If you want to throw fits, yell or stomp, we'll be here. If you want to just cry, we'll be hear. If you want to rejoice in life and the love that surrounds you, we'll be here. :love1::love1::love1: :love1::love1::love1: :love1::love1::love1:

OK, I have HAD ants in my pants.
I was 13 and on my horse at a local park. I got off my horse and was getting a drink from a tap when bull ants went up my jeans leg and bit me.
I took those pants OFF. Right off and I was real quick about it. Standing in a public park in my knickers. I spashed water on my burning legs and then put my jeans back on.
It must have looked funny.

Gogo means Grandmother in Zulu, a native language in South Africa. The o's aren't pronounced as oh! but rather the o as in off.

Funny you should say this Leslie - in my working life I once had a situation with another female where we could not agree on a certain course of action. Being a stubborn Taurus, it became rather heated.
We got together after work to discuss how we could get on and were doing the normal conflict resolution when suddenly I said to her - you are a Leo and she said to me "and you are a Taurus". We became good friends after that.

Its amazing isn't it??? When I was back and home I clashed with someone it would 99% be a Taurus.... I had the same situation with a fellow work mate, but we never got to resolve our differences.

You know, a couple of years ago almost all of the hair over my entire body fell out (My eyebrows did not fall out). I felt so poorly at the time, I was fairly certain that I was probably not going to survive whatever it was that was causing the symptoms. During the time that I felt so poorly, my hair falling out was not an issue at all. At the time I thought, "Why is hair falling out such a big deal? Hair is of no consequence at all."
Then, once I got to feeling better, and it became obvious that I was not going to die, the hair, once again, became a big deal. The whole thing made me laugh out loud.
My feelings in the end were this: I prefer to have my own hair, but wigs/hats/scarves aren't so bad. I think your attitude is wonderful! I love you Kay!

Ours are orange skins AND insides. Sweet Potato Sticks are getting more and more popular. They are, essentially, french fried and, sometimes, come with a sauce with a sweet cinnamon flavor. I think this comes up from Cuba.

I agree it's not all bad...got to admit I was'nt prepared for eyebrows and eyelashes falling out though..I looked like an EGG !!!!:lol::lol: Your hair is beautiful now Fran so what ever it was must've sorted itself out !!! I :love1: you too PQ and your strength of character is AWESOME !! I'm so glad you are on my side !!!

How lovely to see you again Granny Franny !!! You have been SO missed !!!:hug:Thank-you for all the good vibes and I am so so sorry about Mariam !! Heaps of red threads and heart-felt prayers to comfort all of you !!

:love3::love3: Love you too Raffie !!
Patrick the Zulu DISAPPEARED !!! He took his 3 weeks leave..borrowed a whole heap of money :worried::worried:..and never came back !! We found out that he has another wife and about 4 more little ones in another city..I think that wife is keeping him for a while now !! The work ethics are very very different over here !! I do miss him though ! Now we have Lennox..he is much younger and stronger ..he is a Rastafarian and always looked smoked up :worried: but he is sweet and works hard (if you are watching ..) !! We are SO nearly ready to move in and I am itching to get there !!
OMG, he is like the gift that just keeps on giving!!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Now as far a Lennox, bet he would share if you need a little 'pick me up'.
Oh Kay -now you are comforting me! :love1: And I am leaking!!!:cry: But don't worry - it is touched leaking. I leak when I am sad, or happy, or touched or moved by prayer. I'm a faucet really. So I promise I will only leak for you in good ways from now on - sending you healing prayers & energy with each tear that leaks out! Each drop will be put to good use :love3:
Sending you lots of hugs with extras from Megan and Sara. Megan was quite pleased to hear that she has a grandma in S. Africa named GoGo. Sara was confused as to what a GoGo is, but she is always happy to have a new friend. :)
(ps as an aside, Lindsay and Dylan won't even go to high-leak risk movies with me! apparently last time I went too far, but I couldn't help it if I had to blow my nose from all that leaking! :o  )
(pps I wonder what Lennox has to say about the medicinal effects of ganja?:lol::lol: )

Unforunately not Sands. We got a special that offered free air travel with Malaysian Airlines. = now if you were in Paris?????? I looked up the hotel we have in Paris and you can see the Eiffel Tower from the hotel. There is a web site called Trip Advisor where you can read reviews of hotels around the world.
Trip Advisor is a great site! Be sure to share your comment on anywhere you have stayed.

I AM FUMING!!! Ever since last week, I have been dreading tomorrow when I thought I was going for the uterine biopsy. It has been heLL! Today I called to confirm my appointment for tomorrow but when I said I had an appointment with so and so for a uterine biopsy, they acted really confused. I told them that my regular doctor suspects this because of such and such and his nurse made the referral appointment for me. They then proceeded to tell me that my appointment must be for an initial consultation and pap test only!! Then I will need a sonogram at my next appointment and then we will get to the biopsy if necessary! I can't believe they are stretching this out! It is scary enough without making it go on forever! I think that doctors must deal with this stuff so much that they forget how terrible it feels for their patients when they hear the *C* word! And how every single day seems like a year! And how the urgency to know as soon as possible is an overwhelming force that dominates a person's whole life! All you ever hear about is *catching it early* so each day seems like it is getting closer and closer to being *too late*! So why do they fart around like that! Oh I am so PI$$ED! It's not like I called for my own self to arranged for a biopsy - it was my regular doctor who has know me for 30 years or more! He should know if I need a freaking biopsy or not!! I am so mad - I have to calm down or I'll give myself a stinking heart attack!

Can you just imagine laying on your bed spread eagle with dh fumbling around with a flashlight and trying to see where to get the swab, maybe holding the directions in one hand, the swab in the other, and holding the flashlight in his teeth, swearing all over creation!! Try to calm down Vicki. AFTER the diagnosis of breast cancer, it took another month to see all the doctors on the team to decide on treatment. I just wanted the cancer GONE! I know it is hard waiting but you don't want them to make any mistakes and they have procedures in place for your protection. Just hang onto those red threads, soon this will be over.:hug::hug:

And the hair that I do have is fine and bushy ---- "old woman hair." My eyelashes came back, but they are shorter and far more scant than they used to be. And from the neck down, the hair is almost nonexistent.
I am not complaining mind you --- just stating the facts. I am very grateful that I do not have to wear a wig anymore. They are so danged hot!

Vallie--I thought of you whilst at this cemetery. On the one hand, it's so open it would be hard to find it spooky. On the other hand, it's got some amazing monuments and some stunning views! I'll prolly do a few more layouts down the road with other shots. Unfortunately, it was late in the day so didn't have time to do more than take a few shots.

Thanks for you words of wisdom Freda. It just gets to me sometimes. When my doctor was just starting to tell me about it, I said that I would prefer that he not be the one to give me a pap test (our families are somewhat friends outside of his practice) and he said that I did not even need a pap test! Now they are saying they need to begin with a consultation and pap test! Just a way to make money if you ask me. That's not the part of me that is broken! Oh wait, I am not going to get riled up again! No, no, no Pinocchio!! Then I would have to visualize dh with the little flashlight and swab again!

OMGoodness! I am better already! While I was typing that last post, I was also on IM with my sister ranting to her about it! She said they should come up with a do-it-yourself pap test to do at home yourself or have your husband do it!! That just hit my funny bone full force!!! Can you just imagine laying on your bed spread eagle with dh fumbling around with a flashlight and trying to see where to get the swab, maybe holding the directions in one hand, the swab in the other, and holding the flashlight in his teeth, swearing all over creation!! Ohhhhh that would be soooooo funny!!!:rofl::rofl:
OMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! i am freaking LAUGHING my buns off!!!!!!!

I am wondering if there is a reason to take time before treatment. When the Old Dear's 35 year old son was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma it took over a month to start the chemo treatments. A MONTH of knowing he had C and not doing anything about it. Everyone was about nuts!!!

Hi LL. In my case, the breast surgeon ordered the biopsies and diagnosed the cancer. Then they wanted me to see an Oncologist, Radiologist and plastic surgeon (in case I wanted reconstruction). Of course each of these appointments took a week or so to schedule. I met all of these doctors and listened to their thoughts, then called the breast surgeon and told her that I just wanted it gone! We scheduled a mastectomy and got on with it.

We are so alike to
South Africa in so many ways - we get the white ones and the orange ones. I love the white sweet potato roasted while I like the orange one mashed.
I've tried to roast the orange ones but they just fell apart.

My hair is not beautiful...........it used to be............but not any more! I have enough hair now that I do not have to wear a wig, but I have probably close to half the hair I used to.
