stitching tutorial question

Hi, I am very new to digi scrapping and have PS CS. I am trying to go through the stitching tutorial that is here in the tutorial section. Of course, I can't get through figure 1 LOL!!! how do I curve the edges of a straight line to creat my initial stitch?

Jackie its great that you are working through tutorials - there are fantastic ones here at DSP, wonderful way to learn!
The straight line is made with curved edges by using your brush - I'd choose a hard round brush, and black as the foreground colour, just "paint" a shape like you see in the screenshot - if its not right 1st time, just go back & re-do - soon you'll be stitching beautifully!
