OK, we're on:

10 a.m.- 5 P.m. Saturday, April 18
Federal Way 320 Library, Meeting Room 1
848 S 320th St, Federal Way, WA 98003

(For directions, check here (http://maps.yahoo.com/map?q1=848%20S%20320th%20St%20Federal%20Way%20WA%2 098003&mag=5&ard=1#mvt=m&lat=47.315358&lon=-122.322725&mag=5&zoom=14&q1=848%2520S%2520320th%2520St%2520Federal%2520Way% 2520WA%252098003&gid1=22081001).)

Please post here if you're coming, think you might come, or just want to see what your fellow PNWers are doing.

Ideas for lunch: there are all kids of restaurants within a mile. Or, we have the side of the room with a kitchenette. We could all bring something to contribute to a potluck or sandwich lunch. I could easily keep something going in the crock pot.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Sheryl - the disappointing news is that I will most likely be unable to attend.:cry::cry: My husband was laid off this week and travel will be out of the question. Even if he gets a new job, he most likely would be unable to take that Friday off. If something changes this month I will let you know!

So sorry. I understand; my husband is in construction and we're still waiting for his next job.

Maybe someone else will be coming from your direction. Let's plan on the next one in Oregon!

Hi Sheryl, I plan on coming. We do have out of town guests scheduled for that Sunday; if they arrive a day early, I may be able to stop by for a bit. Let me know if I can help with anything.

I will be there Sheryl. Thanks for planning this. About food, I'm pretty open to most anything, except veggies....hate veggies lol

Of course I'll be there, unless something comes up! It's on my calendar! I'll finally get to put the DSP'ers Met IRL flair in my sig soon!

I won't be able to stay the whole day, but I will be there, probably back and forth from nap times. I may end up having to bring the girls, though. Don't think dh can deal with them both for that long by himself... Our pastor and some of the other elders live right around the corner from there, so he could probably go hang out with them for a bit (he's an elder elect at the church). Or he can study...he's got a lot of Bible reading to do!

We could bring something...anyone have issues with homecooked mac and cheese? I guess I'm famous for it at church...everyone wants the recipe. I keep telling them I got it off the net and did some modifications. And I rarely measure anything...

Let me know as the date approaches!

Well this is quite interesting. I live on the prairies in Canada and was thinking about Iowa but this one may be cheaper to get to. I will certainly check out some airfares.

Jennifer, Mac and Cheese sounds great, and please bring the recipe. I can put something in my crockpot. I'll check Lanh's schedule as we get closer; I might be able to bribe her to help with babysitting.

Hey all, congratulations to Jennifer and Tina who made it into Round 2 of DET. Good luck in the next round! Anyone else whose name I didn't recognize?

Since we're a bunch of Northesterners here, I thought i would share the layout I did in honor of today's weather:

Hi all - I am planning to come and looking forward to it. I have been absent from DSP for awhile, but unscrapped photos are stacking up so I must get back in the game! :)

I'm not going to be able to make it afterall and I'm bummed about it. It is the same day as the Diabetes Expo in Seattle.

It's getting closer! I'll bring a projector in case anyone wants to plug it in and demonstrate something for the group. Now to get busy rehabilitating my laptop so it will run Photoshop. My desktop is out of drive space too so lots of computer stuff to do in between April activities. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Looking forward to it. I will be coming from Lacey / Olympia area so if anyone wants to carpool with me I have the room. I think I am planning to be there about 10:00. I need to get the Directions down. See you there.

I can be there at 10 also, and stay as long as there are still scrappers there :)
Sheryl, I am coming from Sammamish and often take Hwy 18 into FW. If you want me to swing into Maple Valley so that you don't have to worry about transportation, let me know!

Will send you info via PM. Thanks!

I have a divided crockpot, so I can keep two things warm (one smaller than the other). Any ideas? I was thinking of maybe making barbecue beef for sandwiches. Or do you want to go out for lunch?

Really odd. I got notification of a posting asking about the head count, but it doesn't appear in here.

Anyway, here's who I have attending so far:
Swatkins56
Westina
JenniferG
Seagal
Jenilyn

It's a small room, but we each could bring two guests and be OK.

Now.... do we want to potluck, go out to eat, or send someone out to pick up sandwiches at Trader Joes or Panera? I'm open to a potluck, but also wouldn't mind a good deli sandwich.

One thing I would like to accomplish is to kick around idea for doing another crop in late summer/early autumn - with a little more pizazz and advanced warning to attract members from Oregon, B.C., Idaho, etc.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi All - quick note (I'm in a cleaning whirl getting ready for out of town guests). Count me in. I'll be there around 10.
Sheryl - I could go either way for lunch. Wonder if we do go out, can we lock the room with our stuff in it or would we have to pack it up and haul it with us at lunch for safekeeping. Maybe we can send one or two out to pick up lunch and bring it back to the room.

I can go either way on lunch also. If we do potluck, I think we should "sign up" so that we don't have 4 veggie trays and no chocolate ;)

Why don't we do potluck for snacks, and send out for lunch?

I have a great recipe for spiced almonds.

That was probably my post that I tried to do some thing with and now I don't see it. So anyway what I said is I could bring my spinach dip and chips and I would be bringing a friend. I think the bring snack and order lunch is a great Idea. See you there

OK, here's the people and snacks coming so far:swatkins56 - spiced almonds
Westina
JenniferG
Seagal
Jenilyn & guest - spinach dip and chips

The rest of you can fill in with your snack of choice. If you know what you're bringing now, I'll update the list.

Why don't we bring our own beverages? That would save our having to do a survey.

Finally, here is a radical idea. I am training to walk the Seattle Rock and Roll Half Marathon, and am supposed to walk 4 miles this weekend. Panera is 1.1 miles from the library, so if I walk to and from lunch, I'll get half my walk in. I don't mind walking solo, but if anyone else is interested, I wanted to give fair warning to bring your walking shoes.

BTW, there are other restaurants along 320th. I just happen to like Panera. I have printed out the menu (http://www.panerabread.com/pdf/menu.pdf) if we want to call in our order. Unfortunately, it doesn't list prices, but the last time I was there I had the soup and salad combination for about $7.

Look forward to seeing you all.

looks like time has worked against me. I won't be able to come after all. DH has some things he wants the whole family to do tomorrow. We don't get to do much family stuff together because of his busy schedule, and he's got a free day tomorrow, and wants to take full advantage of the weather and time.

bummed that I wont get to meet you all...maybe next time. :( I hope you ladies have a great time without me, though, as I'm sure you will.

Hey ladies, we had such a great time today - except I came home telling DH it's time for a DSLR!

So, here's what we talked about. Westina thought she might want to host a Friday after-work crop at her house in the Federal Way area some time.

Jenilyn would like to shoot photos at Snoqualmie falls, so we talked about a shoot this summer followed by a crop at Seagal's place, 10 minutes from the falls.

So stay tuned....

I know we talked about a couple options for our next crop, but I saw an opening on the Covington Library schedule for June 13 so I grabbed it. I can just as easily cancel it, too.

It would be great if we could come up with a date for our next crop this weekend so that we can get it in the May newsletter next week. We have this date as back up if need be.

Hi ladies. I've not heard from anyone interested in a June 13 crop. As it turns out, I have Toastmasters Officer training that day until 1 or 2 p.m. Before I cancel the reservation, I just wanted to check to see if anyone wanted to head up a crop? Thanks, Sheryl
