I'm all about the striped background! I don't care which way they go, as long as they're stripes :)

How about a blue background with bluejays or hummingbirds, and a green background that is marbled (does that make sense?)

Wow! I have to admit I didn't think it would win among that stiff competition!
How about a background in the medium blue, with faint scattered flowers particularly in the purple and light blue?

I agree with the diagonal stripes. Also the hummingbird suggestions sounds great

a light blue background with grunge light scratches and little flowers like the ones in the swatch photo all over it. Maybe some larger purple flowers scattered about, as well.

I would love to see crocuses on the pale green, either an all-over print or just one corner. Or perhaps a darker purple homemade looking paper with a few flowers or petals with the fibers.
Erica

Here are the final two backgrounds. There was a call for Medium Blue BG with scattered flowers and one with Natural Fibers I hope you like them :)
So now we're onto the elements, let me hear what you'd like see in this new Kit and remember we will also start thinking of a name, Raphne submitted our March colour scheme and her comment was that this photo was 'all from my yard last summer!' So perhaps we'll be looking at names to do with gardens/summer - surprise me :D

How about a textured ribbon with little flowers or a simple frame (maybe circle shaped) with a groupie adding some little flowers and a hummingbird?

This is so feminine that I feel it needs an OVAL frame with a delicate edging... :D

I was thinking about flowers. . . maybe lily of the valley, daffodils, tulips, of course crocus. . . spring flowers. Maybe a bouquet with a few different types tied with a ribbon? A delicate oval frame, as spotty suggested, maybe aged paper. . .
For a name: Spring Garden

03-13-2009, 01:13 AM
How about lilacs? I'm thinking the darker purple ones, the colors are perfect for those.
Or perhaps a garland of spring flowers or a grapevine wreath threaded with spring flowers.
I'm also thinking of a border of stained glass or cloisonne(sp?) flowers.

Erica
03-14-2009, 11:14 PM
OK, here are three elements requested for our new kit:
A beautifully colourful Humming Bird
A Glass Humming Bird Feeder
A delicate paper lace oval frame
Give me some suggestions if you have any but I also have plenty to work with if you don't have any more. Remember we now also need to look at some name suggestions based on Raphne's colour scheme photo that she took in her garden last summer, so summer/garden type names might work well, or come up with something you feel appropriate. :D

Ooooo, Erica, these are lovely! I thought for sure I'd be most smitten with the hummingbird, but my gosh that feeder is just gorgeous!
How about a butterfly or two in the same "texture" as the humming bird?
More flowers, naturally-- and again, I love that texture
A length of gently curving lace tied in a loopy bow
