I want to use PSE 7 for creating digital pages and after hearing alot of good stuff about ACDSEE for organizing all the Digital scrapbooking stuff am thinking about purchasing the software as well. I don't want both programs to store my photo's only PSE7.0 is anyone familiar working within 2 systems...
Thanks for any input

PSE 7 is a full photo editing program, and also has a built in Organizer that some people use to catalog their photos and digital supplies. The concern about the Organizer is that as you get more and more photos and digital supplies, the performance becomes very poor.
ACDSee Photo Manager is a database application that helps you keep track of and organize your digital stash, and will let you find frames, buttons, etc., with some work on the organizing front (referred to as tagging the individual elements).
ACDSee does not take over your photos like Elements, so there should be no conflict. I use ACDSee and Photoshop CS3 together, and I know there are tons of people who use Elements and ACDSee.
And a big welcome to DSP!
ACDSee does also have ACDSee Pro which is also an editing program, although I don't know anything about it in comparison to the Photoshop programs.
Welcome to DSP, mdgioia!
I used to use PSE 6 for organizing and have just recently purchased ACDSee Photo Manager 2009.
It takes some time to organize/tag your photos... and for me, the jury is still out if it's worth the time. There are things I like about ACDSEe and things about which I'm not so crazy.
Perhaps you should try the free trial and see what you think about it. :)

Hi, I'm one of the gals from over at Digi Scrap Info (http://www.digiscrapinfo.com/joomla/acdsee-resources/acdsee-photo-manager) where we have tons of tutorials and helps for ACDSee users (among other things.) ACDSee works as a browser, like Windows Explorer but faster and more powerful, and it just sees your supplies on your hard drive...it won't import your images anywhere. It builds a database of information you assign to your images by attaching the info to the thumbnails. You can even categorize images on CD/DVD's and it will let you search for supplies and then it will tell you which disc to insert to use an image you choose. I wrote a tutorial called Speed Tagging (http://digiscrapinfo.com/wordpress/2008/01/22/speed-tagging-with-kristi/) which I hear scrappers say is useful for cutting down on the time required to get everything tagged. Hope you find that helpful!
The Pro version is designed more for pro photographers and has RAW editing and batch adjustments as well as batch writing to the IPTC fields...if that sentence doesn't make any sense to you then the home version is all you need...lol!
Anyway, if you have any more questions just ask!
Kristi

Kristi, I would say that is a HUGE understatement. I don't think I would have gotten my initial tagging done without it!!

Thanks so much, I've yet to create even one page but I've wanted to start for over a year and am determined to get started. I'm quickly learning that there is so much more than just building a page, its not quite so easy.

Oh, but it's a lot of fun!
And, unlike traditional scrapbooking - if you mess up, no worries about trying to get the glue off without ripping a page! :) Just "Undo" or go back a few steps. Or simply click and delete. :)
Myself, I like hybrid (a little of each: digi and traditional).
