10 x 10 prints

Does anyone else print 10 x 10? I am thinking that this would be a convenient size book - still big enough to see everything, but no so large as 12 x 12.

I noticed that VioVio offers this size, are there any other vendors that do? If so, who would you recommend? I am considering loose prints and/or bound books.

I've been looking at 10x10 as well - because they'll fit in the 8 1/2x11 album I picked up by American Craft - Looking forward to trying it out. I order most of my stuff from http://scrapbookpictures.com - and they offer a 10x10 size.

I have two 10x10 hardbound books from viovio and I LOVE them. They are a great size for a book shelve/coffee table. It is definitely large enough but not too large, as the 12x12 size can be. I think it was about $40 for a 60-page book, leather cover. HTH!

I am bumping this thread because these are the questions I have as well. I want to take my 12 x 12 layouts and make them into 10 x 10 layouts (using Lauren's idea of putting a black border around the edge for uniformity and to give room for printing cut-off.) I want options for printing them in a book, AND for printing out the pages and putting them in a quality, archival scrapbook album. My question is, what printer do you use to print 10 x 10. Do they print books and/or individual pages? And does anyone know where I can find the archival scrapbook in the 10 x 10 size and page protectors to go with it (preferably with posts to add lots of pages)????

I, too, would like to see 10 x 10 scrapbook albums. I do my own printing. Maybe the manufacturers will come out with them.

Sooooo.....I have googled, yahooed, and binged the question "Does a 10x10 postbound album exist?" And I think the answer is NO. I found 10x10 albums, but not postbound with the ability to add more or less pages and archival safe page protectors. The closest sizes I found were 8.5x8.5 and 9x9 (postbound). If you're interested, I found an interesting site to look up items called thefind.com. They listed several places to find those albums (and even coupon codes to get a better deal).

If you have any other ideas for making a book smaller than 12x12 (a little too large for me), I'd be interested.

How about places that print 9x9 size? 8.5x8.5 could be printed on any paper, so that might be an option.

I scrap in 12x12 but I print in 10x10 and I have 12x12 scrapbook albums. See, I like the 10x10 size for the same reasons that some of you stated: it's not too small nor too big. I print in 10x10 and buy 12x12 cardstock and use it as mattes for my layouts. It's a nice look.

We offer 10x10 prints for $1.89. These are full bleed on pro fuji archival photo paper.
We have also suggested to Die Cuts with A View to manufacture 10x10 books and top loading pages. We do get many requests for this print size.
Also, if you aren't aware, you can design your layouts as 12x12, save it, upload, and order the 10x10 print. No need to resize. This way if you ever change your mind, or want a 12x12 print, you have it. You can always print smaller with the same aspect ratio, but when you flatten and save small, and then print larger, you lose resolution as the image enlarges.

I'm finding a ton of wedding photographers advertising 10x10 albums. Wonder if that's the reason it's hard for hobbyists to find them?

This page shows Golden Hinge Albums in 10x10 (http://www.albumart.com/textfiles/albumbio6.htm), but I don't see a way to buy them. I think this size must be geared only to professionals: Album Shop (http://www.arondia.net/General%20Products%20Cover.htm) :annoyed:

Guess the issue is that people with regular printers can do 8x8 and people with wide format printers prefer 12x12. Really doesn't make a lot of sense, though--this would be a wonderful size for digital albums.

So, printing is more complex than you think.
Yes, wedding photographers are using these 10x10 leather albums (we carry the Tap Album for our local photographers) because these albums have heavy adhesive pages that we peel off and mount photographic prints to. (not ink jet)
Photo Paper is always going to produce the best image and colour.
These albums are beautiful, but very expensive.
I would hope you all are not printing 8x8 just because you can print at home? Not only is ink more pricey than you think, it isn't always archival, nor does it produce a very pretty layout.
We can print the 10x10 photographic prints that can self adhesively fit in the albums that you posted here if you are willing to spend the $100+ for the album (usually comes with 10 pages)

Don't be scared! Printing and having them in your hands is the most rewarding!
You don't have to resize or worry about bleed with our single page photo paper prints. We use a special software and settings just for this reason.

Omio, yes 10x10 is the "perfect" size actually. As I mentioned previously, I scrap in 12x12 (300ppi) and I print in 10x10. I buy 12x12 scrapbook cardstock paper and use it as a matt/matte behind my layouts. I have a wide format printer that prints up to 13x19. I never had the "bleed" issue and it prints beautifully. My printer has some color smart and size feature. I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1400. I want the 1900, which cost $300-350 or so more. My issue was photo paper size (not ink surprisingly and it takes 6 cartridges). I would buy 11x17 or 13x19 photo paper and then I would have to cut my layouts to 10x10. This week I found a company that sells 10x10 photo paper in 2 styles (gloss and luster)! :yahoo:I am a big fan of professional archival photo paper. I am not too much into gloss or matte photo paper of any kind. I like luster/lustre. Staples sells Epson luster photo paper (13x19), 50 sheets for $107. The site that sells the 10x10 photo paper, sells it for $56us for 50 sheets. They have gloss and luster plus others. Here's the site: http://www.opusalbums.com/

Ok, from catching up on this thread and Chellie's GREAT idea about printing 10x10 and putting your layout on a 12x12 scrap cardstock paper to go in a 12x12 album here is what I came up with:

Has anyone else used these albums? I LOVE that they are ring binders and NOT post bound - no worries about adding pages easily and having the album fall apart from too many pages!! This just might work! :tup::tup::yahoo::yahoo:

BTW, this is what I'm looking for, also. I know the 10x10 mounted on 12x12 must look fab--like a framed and matted photo. But I specifically want a smaller album to hold--I just hate wrangling a 12x12 album. 8x8 has been working for me but the LO detail would be great at 10x10!

I have used VioVio for 10x10. I do like the size, but for my next book I will be trying the 12x12. I do recommend their site. I have also made soft cover books in the 9x7 size (they weren't scrapbook pages, just single photos) and I loved the book.
