Well, I got my first printed book back from Artscow and I am so pleased with it! I love the quality! I printed 8x8 and it's small, of course, but perfect for me. I love it! I'll be getting my Canvases back from them sometime this week or next week. Excited to see those too.

Here are a couple photos of the book. Sorry. I don't have my DSLR yet so I'm using my point and shoot.

Absolutely Lauren! I'm so thrilled with the quality of the pages. They're awesome! And I'm equally thrilled to have FINALLY printed my first album. Now to print some more albums! Once I got this one, I decided I need to hurry up and finish my faithbook album and get that printed! And I have been wanting to do a little storybook for my girls. So I need to get going on that one, too!

Oh Ruby, I'm positive it'll look great! My husband picked up the mail, came through the door and said, "What did you get from Hong Kong?" I had told him that I was expecting our wedding album any day now and that it was coming from Japan. He is so forgetful sometimes. I snatched it from him and ripped the packaging off as quickly as I could. I was so thrilled! He loves it as well. Only fitting that the first album I print be our wedding album. I STILL have to do one and surprise my Dad. I'll print that in 12x12 though. Dad's getting old. :) A whopping 47 this year!

LOL Lauren! I didn't mean to imply that you were old! LOL! My Dad is old! He's got 3 children graduated from high school, married and having babies! Grandfather of 4. That makes him old. As I understand, you aren't granny yet...right? So you don't get the OLD title until you do. :) Mom is 49 this year (in May) and she's old. But only because she's a grandmother of 4. She doesn't act old though. She's got more energy for her grandchildren than we do for our own children! Calling my parents old is something that my sisters and I do just to mess with them. It gives us a good laugh. I personally hope they are around long enough to become ANCIENT. They aren't allowed to leave us until they're about 100 or so! ---but I'm getting off this topic because I'll become depressed and all emotional thinking of the fact that one day they won't be around anymore.

Jennifer...your book is beautiful. Kudos to you for getting one printed. Quick question - did you put the white border around the pages or is that something Artscow did? I like it.

Thanks! I think so. I put the white border around the pages. You can use the Zoom option and zoom the page out or in during placement while creating the book. I zoomed out until their was a little border around the pages.

Well I never noticed the zoom in and out bit before - shows how bad I am at looking around - I will have to try this next time

I saw a book that on the outside looked just like a regular book. Then the neighbor opened it up and it was her scrapbook pages all neatly printed in a book form. It was very professional. I don't know where she got hers done so I'm out here looking for the best program to use. I don't want them just printed up and stuffed into a blank covered book. Can you tell me more about the Artscow books? Did you design your cover? I can't wait to get started on this Thanks for any information.

I designed my own cover and back. So, even though it was a 20 page book, I ended up getting much more than that. I had the front and back covers to make, then there was a title page, and then 20 pages, plus a few more, if you pay $0.50 per page, you can fill the book for an extra $1.50. And then they have their logo on a non photo page in the back, which you can remove for $2.00 extra. I didn't do any of this, though, but will next time to maximize the use...but I won't remove the logo because I like to know where they were printed. I'm very pleased with them so I ordered a couple canvas prints in 12x12. Those are awesome!!!! I have to take photos of them and post them still, but I haven't gotten around to the craft store to get them framed yet...(Artscow doesn't frame them for you, but they're printed in such a way that it's really easy to do it yourself...if you want to.)

They do much more than books, though. And you get TONS of free prints, some with free shipping and some paid shipping, which for me was under $10. Can't beat that! Just click on the link in my sig and it'll take you right to them and you can check them out for yourself!

ahhh zoom .... I am such an idiot, I've been changing sizes and margins in photoshop and re-uploading for the past couple of days trying to get it ready to print - fixed the rest in about 5 minutes using the zoom. DUH!!!

Thanks for the tip - I've just put my first book order in (only costing $9.50 as I only have to pay the postage to Australia and $1.50 for the 3 extra pages). I thought that was a very reasonable price to give it a try.
