Whipping right along! I skipped two steps this time because I really liked the photo posted last time by happybeingamom, and wanted to have a play with it.

Opening it up for your suggestions now!

I love how this looks like a vintage wallpaper. so how about the cream the dark red next the cream somehow brushed on but mixed together. I don't know if I am making myself clear as I'm not yet hip to the scrapping lingo when it comes to describing the different types of designs and techniques of papers. But I do see this turning out to be a vintage like kit.

Lordy, Z, that paper is so beautiful! I am amazed. Amanda, I'm with you on the not knowing how to describe stuff  but here goes...
I'm thinking a floral type paper that has been painted over so the floral shows through on the edges. Or maybe the edges showing through could be like newsprint. The top color could be green or the creamy color above the green. I don't know if that makes sense.

or pink gingham. (that was easier to describe )

idtwinmom

I don't know if you will consider it a BG or not, but this needs a paper that is torn, like wallpaper you are pulling off the wall. I love the darker reds, and even if it's not torn would love to see a paper done with the rustier red (right below the dark pink).

Love the idea of this background!

I would like to see one of the dark reds as a solid background - maybe with a light one swirled in.

Ohhhh wow, Z!
I'm glad you've skipped! That paper is amaZing!
I love that green and that pink (upper top left) and perhaps since "wallpaper" has already been used a time or two to describe this, how 'bout a brushed paper?
You know, like if you just started painting a wall with a wide brush there's the brush lines in the paint? In either the green or that pink?

Elisabeth
03-21-2009, 07:37 PM
Okay Spello, here's one coat of green paint over the wall with the streaks showing because it's not finished yet. Only they were painting over the existing wallpaper so it shows through too, lol!!

Thanks Z for the PM.

I am just thrilled you picked my color.

This is a picture of me (so many years ago ) I was a flower girl at my Uncles wedding.

My mother sewed this dress and my older sister had a matching one.

I don't remember much as I was 5 1/2 but what I do remember is that the fabric was sheer (like an overlay ;)) and it had a pink lining.

There is a story with the shoes too. (I think I have to do a page on that. Thanks for bringing me back those memories.)

happybeingamom

How about a light pink paper with a drop darker stripes on it. (tone on tone)

A wide pink sateen ribbon

boobearsmama1
03-22-2009, 11:15 AM
I love the color tones here and love the red velvet ribbon suggestion! This would be great with an old vintage style journal paper like with worn edges, creased to appear to have been folded.

Okay, I made the berries on the floral paper the red color, but a red background didn't work. Here is a pink one instead.

Still seeing a yellow paper. Maybe a shiny-ish fabric, like a damask.

the pink paper is just beautiful. For the last paper, maybe the gold to bring out the gold in the first paper. Something simple like a linen or canvas texture, or grunged up a bit darker around the edges.

Elisabeth

I went ahead and made Carolyn's bow, because the photo had the big pink bows on the aisles:

Can we have a yellow background? Perhaps fairly plain with hints of white, pink, and dark pink/red grunged in there.

I'd like to see a wide pink ribbon to ge with that bow too.

I think a collection of those flowers that are on the white background tied with a piece of rafia would look great.

sueya
03-22-2009, 04:19 PM
Some dangling gems would go well with this

bludlfn003
03-22-2009, 04:47 PM
i think I saw that we still need a BG paper so I'm bringing my suggestion back so how about the cream the dark red next the cream somehow brushed on but mixed together.
what about the design of the frame as a border on a peice of crinkled paper in one of the softer colors for journaling

debilou
03-22-2009, 05:00 PM
Oh beautiful so far...

How about a ribbon to match the bow...

And a ripped piece of paper...

debilou
03-22-2009, 05:04 PM
How about something to match the white frame...

like a journaling box... you do fantastic things with journaling items...

or buttons... some notion that matches the frame to offset it...

idtwinmom
03-22-2009, 05:05 PM
Yes, you could still do that torn wallpaper I mentioned. Maybe in the yellow instead of the rusty red since you didn't like that. That flower from the pink paper could be used as a border (kind of like a ribbon, but more of a wallpaper border). Or there is still the decal idea.

romey
03-22-2009, 05:20 PM

sammdc

wowowo Z that is so gorgeous love love love all of it
I definitively agree about having more stuff made like the frame the aging effect on that is simply awesome maybe like a hook or clip that we could hang the frame from
also on a very very wide ribbon to match the bow

Elisabeth
03-22-2009, 09:32 PM
I did Amanda's suggestion of the frame stamp on a piece of paper for journaling. And I decided to go with the rose color for the last background - trust me, the red just didn't fit with these tones. I know it's in the photo but it's not part of the dress or the wedding colors. I'd rather stick to the proportions of those for the purposes of the kit.

So what's next? How do you want your wide ribbon - straight or curled?

How about a pink brooch?

And I agree, maybe a yellow flower! It could be a pansy with the brown color in the center and yellow for the petals!

I think a straight ribbon.

and a butterfly seems appropriate! This kit looks very springy!

I agree with them... you need a trademark - like Marcee has her "ee" kits..

"z" should be part of all of your kits... then we would know immediately... This is a Way cool Elizabeth Weaver kit... without ever looking at who the designer is...

So, I Third the vote....

I'm seeing more yellow too! I like the idea of a yellow flower, and the ribbon I see as flat, like you are wrapping a present with it. Maybe you could leave it without a drop shadow so it can be turned and crisscrossed. Or make it crisscrossed to begin with works too!
