Hi all, I'm moving from a PC to a Mac and am looking for the organizing software most like ACDSee. I know ACDSee has started Beta testing for a mac version but I hate when software has problems so i don't want to go that route for now. Would you recommend Lightroom or Bridge or something else? What do you think about Shoebox? My primary use would be to tag and organize all the digital supplies. Thanks for any help!:)

Hi 1access & welcome to DSP! If you are choosing only between Lightroom and Bridge, you'll need to pick Bridge. Lightroom at this point is designed for photographers and does not recognize .png files. You could try posting a question as to what other Mac users use. There are a lot of them here at DSP. HTH -c-

I am not a Mac user and have never used ACDSee but I do use Adobe Bridge for organising my image files. It suits my purposes pretty well although I do often wonder what ACDSee is like! ;-)

Oh and bridge comes with photoshop, so if you have photoshop you probably already have bridge.

I just use IPhoto. I have albums of the preview sheets for kits, freebies, ploppers, QCs etc, and then catergories for elements etc. So simple to use and yet effective. Easier than the other two I think also.

If you have CS4, Bridge has a neat feature called Smart collections which automatically displays files that meet certain conditions. Lauren has a tutorial on her blog that goes over how it can be used for digi scrapping:
