OK, I'll state the obvious - we need a grasshopper! (Does it seem like I'm repeating myself? )

GrandmaCrys
04-16-2009, 07:42 AM
And another little animal face to go with the cow - maybe a lamb?

GrandmaCrys

And...definitely a ruler - You know those thingies Moms and Dads put on a wall or door jamb to mark the growth of their children? Maybe you could have a growth chart on an overlay or something. Then, we would need some kind of *marker*! :D :D

COW?!? That's a giraffe!!:rofl: I know this becauce its MY kit Chris made for me!!!:D:D
How about a lion (with an orange mane!) or other jungle beastie?

Oh, shucks, Crys! You got my suggestion for the markings on the door jam. :( Oh, well, how about "Growing like a weed" in a cute font and a pretty native plant (weed) ;) ?

BTW, I love the overlays that go with this kit! Def on my "to buy" list!!

OK, I'd like to see some sketches or line drawings of some toys that kids get as they grow--tricycle, soccer ball (Maya loves her soccer ball!), bicycle, baseball and bat, and others (for some reason, I'm just thinking outdoor/sporty stuff this morning....). :D

The GIRAFFE you mean? I suppose you can call it a cow if u want to

Oooo--how about a baby jungle cat (leopard, cheetah, tiger)? Back to toys--little red wagon?

For anyone who is not in the US if I do a marker thing, what would you need instead of feet and inches?

Christine
04-16-2009, 09:50 AM
Well I am assuming meters but what numbers wouldbe appropriate

jemtred
04-16-2009, 10:50 AM
 metres is right Chris. Jack is 93cm at nearly 2 (but he is tall!) Thea is 65 cm at 7 months (but she is a shortie!) hope that helps....;)

We need something to mark on the measuring stick - depending on what you make for that, maybe a pointed metal slider or a even just a circle made using a marker.

So like 3 m on the top end, broken into 10 cm markings or something?

I love the border styling on the frame in the first kit so I'd love to see a similar border on a multi-photo frame that has spots for 3 portrait photos (but narrower than usual portraits). Then the heights would be stair-stacked to to show an age progression. Would want it to go from shorter to taller from left to right of course.

metres, centimeters and millimetres

I think 3m may be a bit extreme if its children we are measuring! ( a metre is slightly bigger than a yard and I don't know many kids that big - what do you feed them in Utah???)

Something like one of your "cut-it-up" QC but smaller just for a photo?

LOL well I guess I was thinking up to 6 feet, in American and 3 m for the rest of you. I do have tall kids you know :D My dd is 12 and already about 5' 7".

Maybe 2m then!! I think 1.83m is close to 6ft whereas 3 m is more like 9ft which I think would be tall even by your standards! We think Jack is going to be taller than both of us by the time he is 10 (we aren't very blessed in the height department!)

And I meant to say Thanks  again for the great LO - its now downloaded. I also checked the kit out in the store and am so pleased to see my LO there. Definitely ready to sign autographs any time :yippee::yippee:

If we have a grasshopper, we'll need the "boing" thing that shows jumping. Does that make sense?

If we have the jungle cat, how about a monkey hanging from a vine?

And maybe a bit more foliage (yes, I always want more leaves ) for any critters to hide behind and peak out. The big cat (with orange mane!!) could be peaking out sideways like the giraffe is over the top. I can see what I mean but not very good at explaining it...

what I would like to see is a hippo to go with the giraffe. Don't ask me why a hippo but I think maybe cause you could make him blue and it would go with the new papers...

Also how about something with imagination. I saw a quote somewhere that says let your imagination grow... but I don't know if it is copyrighted or not but thought you creative minds could come up with something like it... :)

Oh also on the growth chart... have you seen the new vinyl ones they sell that are dandelions or a tall giraffe or something like that (they are a sillouette). I would love to see something like that in the kit.

mariafer
04-20-2009, 05:22 PM
Oh I would go for sillouetes of any type... kind of like your leaves but make a branch or a tree or a flower... anything would be cool!

Just an idea if you do the slider marker thing on the growth chart with something that has a tab or is a circle and hten just have hatch marks on the actual chart, people could then write in the correct meter or feet and inches, so you don't have to clutter the actual chart with both, but in your description tell them to mark in the correct number that coincides with that child at that point in time. Just a thought. I like the ideas of hte otehr animals like lion or tiger or zebra, and the other title of Growing like a weed. Cute and of course all this is secondary to Crys' obivious need for the Grasshopper, how perfect is that. One more thought since the colors in the bonus are pink and blue, I'd think we'd need a paper that is green or earthtones that could also blend with the theme and the other animals. Anyways, can't wait to use this kit, so perfect, but I better stop typing and get my posting done. Thanks Christine, always love your kits, Linda
