I couldn't find this on the site in their question area.

First, all of a suddent when I go to open unprocessed RAW files (CR2 for Canon), I also see a dupe icon for ACDSee (xmp file). I don't want to see those so why are they showing up and is there something in the options section of ACDSee to stop this from happening. I couldn't find anything.

The other is if I have some picture on my desktop and open from there to view it, it opens in the ACDSee viewer. I don't have that checked in the program...I want it to open in CS4. Maybe I'm missing something there too.

Anyone have either of these problems or know how to rectify it. Thanks.

question one- I cant help with
question two- if you are using a pc (I dont know about mac's) when I right click on a picture on my desktop I click on "open with", and at the bottom of that flyout menu is
"choose default program" - go into that, choose your default program choice, and mark the check box that says "always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
hope that helps a little.

Question 1 - I see you have asked this before, seems its still not resolved since Kristi replied (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37459)?

I have now tried to follow her reply but quite hoestly don't see any of the words she refers to? odd...

Its fortunately not a problem I have ever had. I will see if i can find more for you.

Question 2: glad you have such a good reply :)

Norma, have you had any luck since you last posted?
If not, you can contact ACDSee directly:

Well, the first one I think is okay. The 2nd...I'm still getting the pictures. If I double click they should up in the ACDSee Photo Manager. I can right click and in properties change to PS, but then I would have to change all them every time I save to the desktop. I didn't have to do that before. I posted a question on ACDSee forum but no answers.

I'm sure it must be a setting in ACDSee but I changed a few things and it still happens. When I double click, I'd like them to open in CS4 like they used to. I'll figure it out yet but it's taking a while to get my head in gear I guess.

Thanks for getting back to me. Guess I'll have to check ACDSee again.
