Hi,
I don't normally post, but I have received so much help reading posts, that I wanted to share. Winkflash is having a flat rate sale on photo books--up to 100 pages for one rate (8 x 8; 12 x 12; 8 x 10).
I ordered a 96 page 12 x 12 window book for 29.95 plus around $10 for shipping. It took about 1 1/2 week from time of order to receive. I am satisfied given the price, but don't know how I would feel if I paid full price.
The cover seems a little cheap--thin and kind of flimsy--but I don't have much to compare it to (I have a snapfish photo wrap cover book that looks much better).
I have absolutely no complaints at all about the printing--the pages came out much better than I expected as most pages used scanned pics of not so great quality.
My biggest concern is the binding--it is stapled and you can feel the staples through the cover spine. The pages are not loose at all and don't seem like they will come loose--I just don't like being able to feel the staple and see a slight indentation where the staple is.
The website is pretty easy to use. You can upload multiple pics (or jpeg layouts in my case) at a time. You do have to be careful as the system kept changing the size of my book--so before you order--double check that.
I used MMS to create my layouts--I used their guide to keep all elements away from the edges. As such, nothing of importance was cropped.
There is a standard white border on the left and right side of every page. You can't see the interior one as it is where the binding is. You can see the exterior white border. I wouldn't chose to have the border--but it's okay.
I also ordered an 8 x 8 window book and it was sent without the window--I emailed customer service, so hopefully they will resolve it.
As I said, the only other place I have ordered a photo book from is snapfish, and I much prefer the photo wrap cover. Winkflash does not offer that option--although I would def paid more to have it. The printing seems to be similar quality in both. Snapfish has stiched binding and the snapfish spine seems sturdier.
All in all, I am ordering another book as for the price I am happy.
Feel free to ask any questions!
Kristine
