Weekly Chat - Speed Scraps

Back in the good old days of digital scrapbooking we regularly ran speed scraps - these were chats where we were given some inspiration and an hour or 2 to scrap a page - no rules - no regulations - you could use what you liked - you could be as adventurous or as simplistic as you liked - you just were guaranteed to get a layout done .............

Some times we chatted AND scrapped at the same time - that was a challenge but it was even MORE fun -
I hanker for those good old days and so Im starting up a weekly Speed Scrap challenge

9pm Tuesdays in the Chat room is now speed scrap time. - Join me and hopefully lots of friends in the chat room for some fun and some inspiration and end up with a layout done in an hour or 2 .

Now this sounds like a challenge I should really get into as the the words speed and scrap just don't happen for me but I may just have to give this one a go, who knows I may even end up surprising myself and complete a fabulous LO in an hour :)

I could certainly do with some speed scrapping. Sounds like it would be a great fit with the journalling ideas that are floating around at the moment too. If you already have the journalling (kid quote or something you just jotted down), the page is almost made!

I remember those good old days! In fact, I think I got inspired and scrapped and posted my first layout during a speed scrap! Everyone was so helpful and supportive! I will certainly try to be here for this!!

I've been wanting to join in with this the past couple of weeks but am usually at work at the time of the chat, and I know I will need to be there and do it then to really try to stay within the time limit! Speed and scrapping are not words normally seen together in my life, and I really want to challenge myself to stop the overthinking as Julia said, and see what happens. After next week I will be home on a Wed so will mark it on my calender and see you there.

Sometimes, when I am inspired I can do a LO in 10-20 minutes.. othertimes it takes me hours and hours. Speed Scraps was so intense for me! Fun to see what people came up with, btu I think it caused me so much stress and worry. I thought I was doing something wrong.

I am hoping to try it again this week and see if I can do better, and calmer LOL

I feel so sad that this has ended. I've missed the last few because of a family situation. My father had a stroke on November 23, went to Hospice on the 24th (so I couldn't make that chat), and passed on the 26th. I've been so busy with all of the plans and preparations that I can hardly even think of scrapping. In fact, my "new posts" click showed more than 5 pages of unread posts. I'm having surgery next week, so I will be unable to do much but play on the 'puter for a while.

Speed scrap was interesting. It was the first one I have done (new here) and it was different! Hard for people to scrap and chat though. I must say I was WAY out of my league with the ladies in on this one! Their layouts were AMAZING and mine was pathetic! BUT, I did learn alot. It was the first time I had used my newly organized scrapbooking catalog and it was so easy to use, I learned not to do this when I am tired (my husband got a kick out of that one!), I learned to take some time to really look at the design element of the inspiration layout, and finally figure out the upload process first so the pictures are not fuzzy! I have a lot to learn but like I tell my grand babies you can't be a professional the first time out, be persistant and try your best. And the best thing is I got a page done!!! Yay for me! Thank you for all the lessons, if I am brave enough I will be back next week! And thank you for the nice comments, you were very polite! I am off to revamp my layout a bit!

Clipper you did a great job, SpeedScrapping is definitely a huge learning curve so to get as far as you did was great to see!

The inspiration is just that, inspiration. You should take a look at it, and let it inspire you to make a page. It doesnt have to be the design that inspires, it could be the theme, the colours, a word, anything!
I actually really liked that you were able to take the music idea and turn it into a LO as it gave you quite a different styled LO than most of the others and makes you stand out in the gallery, which is great!!!!

Oh, I love the inspiration! But I wouldn't have been able to do even one extraction in that much time. But it has given me an idea for a LO that will take me a lot of time - and I just HAVE to do it. My son at the bottom and I'll take photos of all of his favorite toys for the top! Love it!!! And . . . never done an extraction, so lots of practice.
