Hi All! I have never been to a laptop crop but I am very interested in putting something together or attending one around here in Orange County. Are there digiscrap clubs that get together once a week for a couple of hours at a local coffee shop? That would be a dream come true for me! I'd be more than happy to organize something like this but not sure where to find people to join me!

Anyone interested?
thanks!
niki

There are quite a few of us in Orange County, or surrounding there and we do get together from time to time - so that is definitely within the realm of possiblity :) Let's talk some more.

I'm about 1 hour away, but still without a laptop! Would love to be able to get together to. Anyone going on the Scott Kelby Photo Walk in Orange? I've already signed up and there were still 30 some spots available as of this morning.

Not sure - I'd like to, but have to get myself organized :) There are a group of us who get together from time to time to scrap. We range from San Diego area to Valencia or thereabouts - around Magic Mountain. We have a crop coming up where a ton of us will be meeting in San Jose on August 8th - perhaps you could join us there also.

In the meantime, it is probably time for a local event!!

The details of the August 8th crop at Adobe Headquarters haven't been posted yet, but they will be in the near future. I think the site wanted to make the dates known so people could start booking flights. It is a pretty amazing event. I was there last year, too and wouldn't miss it for the world!!

I am very interested in participating in this... how do I sign up? And what is a photo walk? Do we bring our cameras and take photos while we are walking around downtown orange? Sounds like fun! Please let me know how to sign up! (curicogirl@mac.com)

Thank you Linnie. I would love to get together with you guys! I love digiscrapping with a passion (like all of us here) but I always have other priorities and it gets pushed to the backburner. I really need just a systematic get together once/twice a month to work on what I love. How do these get togethers usually work? Does someone book a room like in a library or something and then anyone who can come comes? There is a great library in Orange that i could see what needs to be done to book the room for a few hours. Please feel free to email me! Would love to know more! (curicogirl@mac.com) Thanks!

DW and I went to the Adobe Crop last year and it was so much fun. Even without a laptop, you can learn so much from just watching and listening to others. Many that attend don't get much cropping done because it is a great social event. We plan to attend again this year.

Debbie - I was ready to haul my full desktop pc and LCD display to the Adobe crop last year. Then Alan gave me the thumbs up to buy my lappie. It is doable - I have the gear for you to haul your PC if you need it.

I would say an estimate of 8 to 9 hrs from San Diego to San Jose depending on traffic and speed and other such delays. I'm in Bakersfield and from me to San Diego is about 5 hrs, and from here north to San Jose is about another 4 hrs. Hope that helps.

Here is the link for the photowalk page. From here you look for one you want to join. This is where I found the one in Orange. Let me know if you can't find it and I will try to find a better link to it. http://worldwidephotowalk.com/ . Would love to have you come along!

I went without a laptop last year and had a great time! It took me about 6 hours from Rialto if I remember right. It takes us about 2 hours to get to San Diego, so I would say 8 to 9 hours would be about right.

Woops, I didn't answer your question about what a photo walk is! Yes, we walk around and take pictures. This walk is in the historical part of Orange so should be lots of photo opps! Hope you can come!

Went last year and had a wonderful time. It was on Sat. from 9am to 9pm and early registration was about $20 We had group rate for the hotelCrowne Plaza for $120 per night.

We're awaiting details for this year's crop

We're planning on going again and have made flight reservations already. There are some great deals out there for flights
