Name Tags and ATC Cards

At each crop we usually have a name tag contest - and we also swap ATC Cards.

Firstly for the name tag - there are NO rules!!!!!- you can do what you like -in the past weve had name tags that arent tags at all............... t shirts, hats,- weve had name tags that are cut out like a red lacy bra!!!!!!!!!!!! lots of fun things!!!!!- Or it can be as simple as a sticker with your name on it!!!!!!!- Its just nice to know who you are on the photo walk AND at the crop. - Include your username too if you are a regular here so we all know WHO you REALLY are!!!!!!!!!

ATC Cards......... ATC cards are like sports trading cards. - Usually 2x5x 3.5 inches - like a little layout that defines you .... It doesnt HAVE to have your photo on it. It can be single or double sided, laminated or not laminated. The choice is yours. - Make enough to swap with everyone. ( That is likely to be up to 90 people )

The name tags are so much fun. I love trying to come up witih something TOTALLY original. It's even more fun to see what Cathie comes up with. She might feel obligated to top the red bra!

And the ATCs! I have a whole colleciton of them... just like baseball cards and I have a book. It is so much fun to browse through and see what everyone has come up with.

LOLOLOL I lurve thinking up the name tags and oh boy wait till you see mine for this year. I've had it planned for errrr well I decided on it 2 days after the last Adobe Crop, and I think it will top Caro's red bra too. LOL, can't wait to shock you Lauren and Kim LOL.

I so enjoy looking through all my ATC's too. I just hope I manage to get around everyone this time.

If anyone can't (or doesn't want to be bothered to) print at home, I am using zazzle.com to create my ATC cards. They have a 3.5x2.5 chubby card option, it will print double sided and in full color on numerous paper types. they come in packs of 100, so it's just the right amount. i've never used them before, but I've read nothing but rave reviews.

I was scrambling at the last minute for the Iowa crop. I hate to admit that I was standing at Kinko's on the morning of the crop! In fact, I lured Kim away from helping to set up the crop just so I wouldn't be running around late by myself!

You can do 2 sided cards at artscow by choosing the 54 design cards and turning off the card faces. I did that ! Also did it for my playing card album.

Christine, you have to do custom cards, not the single design ones. Then you can just copy paste your 54 sides - the very last card is your choice for the back - and at the bottom of the screen is the option to turn off the poker text. It's a check box.

I just ordered from Artscow for the first time myself yesterday plus I ordered the regular card deck; so you can take my advice here with a giant grain of salt. :D:D:D

I did read on my invoice that they said to contact them as soon as possible if any corrections are needed. It sounded like they would try very hard to make things right if the item had not yet printed. Based on how you've described the invoice, maybe it's worth sending them an email about it right now???

And even if you end up with the same on front and back, we'll just get to know you doubly-good!! :wave::wave:

I just ordered the regular playing cards...one side has my design and the other side is the standard playing card side. I didn't get fancy since I can barely make just one design..:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I have Silverlight installed, and it works I checked it out on the Silverlight website, but when I click to create the 54 deck cards there's nothing in the "Product Designer". Then if I click anywhere in the "Product Designer" my screen goes white like a blank web page. I tried it on two computers; one with XP & one with Vista.

I was reading the forum on Artscow and ran across a post that helped me. What you'll need to do is uninstall Silverlight from your computer and re-install it from this website, http://www.soft82.com/get/download/windows/microsoft-silverlight/

Hope this helps you....it did me and I was able to order my cards. Sure hope they turn out correct. I was getting so many different looks everytime I did a preview. Then when it showed the final view during checkout I didn't like how they looked, but I'm soooo tired of messing with Artscow I went ahead and ordered them just to be done with it.

<<I have had a terrible time trying to order 2 Single Design Playing Cards. I uploaded my design saved it then tried to order! I saw where there was some discounts and tried to incorporate them that is where confusion set in, let alone trying to get my credit card information on properly. Then when I went to review order it says 1 quantity ordered? I did not check out cause that is incorrect so sent them several messages regarding different questions.

I looked them up in google and found that last year there were several complaints filed against them saying some never received their orders? Yet, I saw several people who ordered and got them Elizabeth McCoy one of them So don't know what is going on or is it just me having problem. I've ordered 5 sets of cards ( at different times) 5 books, watches, buttons,dog tags and other products.
They are located in Hong kong and not in the US but shipping time seems to be pretty good for US customers as well as international.
I'm not affiliated to them so can't answer on their behalf but as a customer I've been impressed , especially as the prices are so reasonable.

Same here...from the time I order to the time I have the prodct in my hot little hands is usually 10 days....the only time there was a delay was when a housemate accidently picked up my package...:(

My back didn't show up on the previews either and I emailed them. They replied that the order would be correct with back and front. So glad you got them done!! Gotta save one for me also!!

My atc's were my first order from artscow. I tried to order well in advance just so I could see how things went and have other options if needed. You still have lots of time to order. I was very pleased at the pricing and the shipping I can't remember how long it took but they arrived in great shape.

As with all these photo printing and photo gift printing sites it does seem to take a bit for me to get used to how their specific software works and how to put products together.

I didn't make the 2 sided cards I just didn't have the time or the idea of what to put on the back so I just did a 1sided card and it went very smoothly.

I'm sorry it has been so frustrating for some of you. I do hope you give them another try or trouble shoot with artscow's customer service to make sure you're getting what you expect from them.

There are also other sites that offer playing cards (not nearly as cheap) but they maybe available from a site you already use and are more familiar with their software or quality.

I got my artscow playing cards today and I too apparently did not leave enough around the edge on the backside and my words got cut off.

Besides that I'm not happy with how the printing came out :( I don't think I will get these again. My dark colors printed too dark and my light colors printed too light. Not sure how I could have fixed or avoided that on my end. Oh well, I'm giving them away anyhow.

I got my cards yesterday and the border is correct. The only small thing would be the color is a little off on the backside design. Now on to designing my name tag; making that one myself.

Woohoo!! Got my cards today, and they look good!! The color is a little off, a bit lighter than I had it, but it's still OK! And I had put on a border too so the fact that it was printed a little smaller than what I had made really doesn't show.

I volunteer at the local Christmas Village and greet children after they visit with Santa . It's a wonderful place to take kids and it has been around for 60 yrs. and no vendors are allowed in the vicinity,,,totally free

okay, I'm stuck. I've never done an ATC before and am worried I won't have time now to do one. Anyone else done with theirs and care to give me a sneak peek so I can get my brain flowing?? How long does it take to get the packs if you do artscow or zazzle? If I work on it tonight and order them over the weekend, will I get them in time? I do have a printers that will work if need be, but I really like the idea of ordering them through one of these companies. Help!!!

I ordered mine on a thurs. and they shipped on Mon. and shipping took a week.
Last year I didn't have an ATC but people gave me their card.

poohbear, I ordered through zazzle, and they shipped within hours. How fast you get them depends on the delivery you choose. Does it usually take longer to get things shipped to Alaska? You could have them shipped to someone down here.

I ordered mine from Artscow and it took one week from when I was emailed they have been shipped; which was about three days after I placed my order. Which by the way I placed the order on a Saturday. Hope this helps.

Poohbear, I don't think there's enough time to get cards from artscow...you know they will arrive right after you leave.....before i started using artscow I used Costco...i put them on a 5x7 and got four cards per 5x7 at .39 cents...you can upload to Costco and pick them up in an hour...

well DH just informed me that I can use my wide-format printer...duh. Why didn't I think of that. I haven't even had a chance to use it since I got it from Christmas so I know I have enough ink. Now to go finish them up and do a test page to see if it works. If so, I think I'll just get the business card stock from Office Depot and go that route. They won't be laminated like I had hoped to get done, but as they say....too much to do and too little time to do it in!

That should be perfect - mine weren't laminated last year. I printed mine at home on a heavier paper.
