Are you ready for the next Graphically Challenged? :yahoo: :yippee:

For the July Graphically Challenged I have another tutorial for you. Join us in the DSP chat room TODAY at 8pm US EST for a chat on this months challenge!

I have another tutorial for you on my blog. Just click here to check it out.
The tutorial explains the different ways you can use overlays to give photos and papers different effects.

This months challenge is to AGE YOUR PHOTOS. Use any method you like, brushwork, overlays, blend modes, the choice is yours.

I have done an inspiration photo. I aged this photo using the techniques in the tutorial, as well as some brushwork on the edges.

The Rules

You must use a DSP product (or lots and lots of products :D) in your layout. This can be store purchased, freebies, etc.
You must have your layout in the Graphically Challenged with Robyn (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=6698) gallery by midnight on the 31st of July in order to be eligible for the drawing.
You must link back in this thread, so that I can grab a random winner from this thread.

What can you win?
One person will be randomly chosen at the end of the month and will receive a $3.99 store coupon! :drumroll:

Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with! Lets get blending!! You can get your Graphically Challenged Flair Here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36564)!

Here's one from me. I wanted to age it, but not too much. I used 4 overlays, one to add a few fine wrinkles, one to darken the edges, one to add a splotchy orange/ sepia tone and one for a streaky, wavy look:

Here's mine. I aged the main photo by duplicating the photo and applying Luminosity blend mode to the bottom photo and applying the Old Paper filter at 71% opacity to the top photo. I then added the Antiquing Overlay at Hard Light Blend mode on top of the photos. Then I added the Darn Dirty overlay.

Well I managed it - and going away for 2 weeks so I had to get it in early. Unfortunately I can't add it to my Featured Designer collection as I absolutley HAD to use the fantastic overlay by Lauren. I hope the yacht looks aged but if you look closely you can see all the modern equipment. Its my brother's home and is keeping him Forever Young!
I blended together 3 different BG and used different blend modes to make the BG. To age the photo I did more layers and desaturation and used an overlay from Lauren's Blended Memories Overlay Stack. Then just stuck it on with some staples because I couldn't find any nails!

May I just ask one question? When a challenge says that you must use a DSP product (like this one says), does that mean that if you use one or more DSP product, you may use also some others that are no DSP or does it mean that ONLY DSP products may be used on the layout? Just trying to make sure I understand exactly what it means. Thank you.

Yeah! I actually got to do a LO and complete a challenge! Good thing they aren't running that "How many challenges can you do?" again this year. I would never make the board.

This is the 2nd LO I have done with pics from my trip to Alaska, but the first that really records part of the trip. Some time next month I will be moving this one into the Album so that I can keep them together.

I found time to do another but I really can't tell you what I did to age my poor long suffering hubby so! He really isn't that old. Unfortunately I couldn't then think of anything to do with the photo to make a good LO so its pretty much as it is.

I used one of Meryls overlays for the ages effect
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=326829

and here is another one where I aged the background photo in the LO. First I blended the photo with the light paper in the Wild Blackberries Kit using Blending Mode: Luminosity making it a nice sepia tone. Then I used the overlay in Creased And Cracked Plopper Plus to get grungy edges. I also applied some inner glow in light brown color to the overlay.
