I am having great trouble in fact cannot printing anything in PSP 9.
I am using files i was able to print very easily in PSP 7 some about 10 meg at 200 dpi 12 12 and the printer and computer just seize up and i have to restart the lot.
I have reduced file sizes to very very small KB to see whether that makes a difference but the printer still locks out.
Does anyone have any tips I need to be aware of to print my 200 dpi 2400 2400 layouts in psp 9.
Many thanks
Sue

Hi, I've never printed anything at all straight from PSP 7 or 9, but have you tried saving the item you want to print and opening your printer program and doing the printing from there. Another thing that I thought of is, are you trying to print the file while it is a psp file, try merging all layers and saving a a jpg, but first I would duplicate the item so the original is still unaltered if the above does not work. Hope that this may be of some help. Pam.

Sue:
This won't help you much, but I'm able to print from my PSP9 without any problems-so it can be done. I usually reduce my pages to 8x8 since I just have a 8.5x11 printer, but I ususally use 300 resolution. I have an HP7760 printer.
Good luck-I hate it when stuff like that happens! I'm sure someone here will have a suggestion for you.

Just thought of something else, have you got the patch for PSP 9 International English, it only came out last week, it's suppose to make 9 more stable, in the PSP program go to Help and there you will find a "Check for Up-dates" click on that and it will show what downloads are available for your version. As you are in Australia and if you purchased your PSP 9 on disk the International English version is the one you will need. This may not help with your printing but,,,, you just never know.

Are you printing a pspimage file or a jpg? If psp, try saving the file as a jpg or a png before printing in Irfanview or some other software? Then, at least you'll know if it's a printer problem or a software problem.

I'm using PSP 8.1 and haven't experienced any problems. I do save my pages as a merged layer and Jpeg then I tend to insert them into blank MSPublisher pages and print from there. I've found the pic quality good and the colors more true to my screen!
Do you get an error message or anything? My baby brother is a computer technician and I believe the college he works in uses PSP9, I could maybe check it out with him for you.

Thanks everyone so much for your replies , its great to get up in the morning and check you messages.
(although I was up at a very anti social hour trying to crack this one )
I will try to download the patch. Hubby also downloaded some patches for the HP so fingers crossed.
I always merge my files into jpg from PSPimages I got burnt on that one very early on using PSP 7. lol.
Will keep trying and let you know.
AS a workaround yesterday I printed the file fine from psp 7 I'll also do as Pam suggests and go direct from the printer.
Thanks again

Just letting everyone know that the HP patches seem to do the trick and now the printer works a treat. Very relieved.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions
