I have-and love-PSP (both 8 and 9). I feel that I've mastered it fairly well-I'm no expert, but I can usually figure out what I want to do. I do notice, however that there are more scrapbooking turorials (at least it seems that way) for Photoshop. I'm just wondering if:

Is there really that much difference? I want to do photo correction stuff, make elements and scrapbook pages.

Now that I'm familiar with PSP, would it be as hard to learn PS? It looks like a lot of the tools are similar.

What is the big difference (besides price) between PSCS and PSE-I actually have a free version of PSE2 that I haven't even tried yet. Any recommendations? How much difference is there between PS7 and CS?

I was just curious about these things . . .

Thanks in advance!

About the only thing I've found I can't do in PSP is use the brushes made for the newest version of PS. So I'll use what I have or make my own. I love my PSP. I love what I can buy with the money I'm not spending on PS. But I began with PSP (although I've had trial versions of PS), and I understand it and it will do far more than I'll ever be able to learn about it.

Each use brushes, and each use outside filters that create effects to aid the programs. Emma will be able to tell you more -- I know she uses both and likes each better than the other for various reasons PS does some things easier - and PSP does some things better. Help me PSP users! Anyone else?

I've been reading all the other threads in this section-and it really seems like a toss-up between PSP and PS depending on what you're doing at the time. I guess I'll just have to load my PSE2 and give it a try. I'd still like to hear from folks, though!
Thanks!

Pam;
I agree, PSP is an amazing program. I can't tell you how many times I've followed a tutorial or read an article and said "I didn't know it would do that". I think that's one reason why I've been dragging my feet when it comes to trying PS-these programs are just so complex, I don't want to confuse myself switching back and forth (but on the other hand, I don't want to miss out on anything, either!).
Thanks!

I started with Photoshop because someone gave me a present of an older copy. (Yes, it was a legal copy since he took it off his computer when he gave me the software, all the documentation and the box.)

There are actually more scrapbooking tutorials for PSP on the Web than for Photoshop. There are more Photoshop people here on this site however, so I understand why some of you don't realize how popular PSP is.

If I was starting from scratch, I'd go with PSP just because of the price. I doubt if there is much that can't be done with either program although there are some differences in how things get done.
