If there is a thread like this, point me to it, because I couldn't find it in my search.

I am talking about figuring out the cost of ink for a full-color layout when you print at home. I know what the cost of paper is, that's easy. But I don't know how to figure out the cost of ink. We bought a new Canon iP 3500 Inkjet printer and I have used up all the original cartridges since then (it has three color and one black), but I printed lots of different stuff for our family, not just layouts.

I would like to be able to know what one layout will cost me before deciding whether to print them all or find a place to have them printed. So, is there a way to calculate that? Thanks.

I found this:

Canon estimates the per-page costs for the Pixma iP3500 to be 3 cents for a black-and-white print and 5 cents for a full-color print.
