So far so good...got a semi decent rate for a car and looks like the
GuestHouse International Inn is my best bet....the plan is to leave around 1pm
friday the 4th and get to L.A. around 7pm....

Yes, Iam getting a new laptop next week.Well, I should say Iam finally getting a laptop.I have looked and love the Mac..However~My desktop is not even 2 years old yet.Iam thinking that if I were to get a Mac, It should be my desktop.I do all of my photo stuff at my desk in my cave.I want the laptop so I can travel to crops! Thats my reasoning for my laptop.My thought on the Mac is also that I would have to learn all new programs again.And then I would be going back and forth from my desktop pc to scrapping also on a Mac.Iam very confused.IF you can offer good advice that makes good sence to me, PLEASE do!! Iam NOT techie so I dont know all about computer programs etc.PLEASE help me make my decision!!!! :applause::applause:

with 4 gb. 420 whatever you call it (?), 5.5 hours battery life and a gorgeous 16 inch monitor. My desktop is a wonderful 2 year old Dell. I use PSE5,HELP!!!!!!!

Debbie, send a PM to Scamp. She has recently gone through the PC to PC laptop to Mac desktop to Mac laptop journey -- all in the last couple of years. (If I remember she bought her first PC laptop soon after the 2007 Las Vegas crop.) She is all Mac now (and her wallet loves RVer and me :love2:.) She would definitely be the best person to give you current information on software and switching platforms in general. :tup:

I use a Windows desktop and a Mac laptop. I'm also an iPhone developer and I've built all my PC desktops. If you use the Adobe products, it'll be pretty much the same on mac and windows. I use Photoshop on both and it's pretty much interchangeable.

The Sony VAIO line has some of the nicest PC laptops out right now. Build quality is really good. If you can send a link to the model you're considering I can give more feedback if you like.

My treadmill desk project has begun!!!! Treadmill is in the house (a downstairs room for the time being, unfortunately) with a shelf behind it to hold my iMac and a plastic tray that fits over the controls to hold the keyboard. Haven't figured out how to do the mouse but will probably rig something using Lynnie's Velcro magic. 7yo DGS is making a surprise visit for the afternoon and is currently patiently waiting for the new treadmill to run unattended for one hour before he gets to be the first to try it.

If anyone is interested, just Google treadmill desk or go to YouTube and search for the same. Good explanation and interview with Dr. Levine of the Mayo Clinic here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPjN07JyVjo . And there are tons of blogs and Flickr pictures of homemade versions.

Hi everyone!!! I haven't been able to scrap since you guys all left last saturday :-( I think I am going to have to have you over every saturday if I plan to get any scrapping finished. My DH and I took out the table extensions just last night and now the table looks SO itty bitty!!!!! I am a tad bit sad!

Thanks for all of your kind words... i really enjoyed having you all over and can't wait to do it again. Now.. I just need to get some more layouts posted now that I know how, I don't have anymore excuses! LOL.

It is hard to keep track of all the fires, seems like there is a new one going every time I watch the news here. It was fire in Yucaipa on the news this morning, the winds are blowing away from Rialto today and toward that fire so no smoke drifting towards here either. Glad to hear that you are ok.

Finally sent out the quotes that Mandy & Company requested at the crop. Way more than you asked for :o but you can keep what "speaks" to you. Don't feel guilty if you want to throw half of it away -- I did get a little carried away. :lol:

Actually, that isn't all I have -- I think there are all sorts of hard copies in my files. I started an Inspiration Folder way back when I was a young teacher and included notes from students and parents. These quotes and stories started making their way into the file and I still go through it when I need a little lift. :love3:
